09/17/10 update to messed up Vista user account access

The last batch of Windows updates (9/17-9/24/10) me locked out of my user and administrator accounts - I choose the user account and password and the system says that it cannot find the System Event Center and hangs up.  I turned off the computer entered Safe Mode and use system restore to go back before the update, and the problem is solved.

How can I get new updates to load without loading the bad update which is mess up my computer? And or isolate the bad update a huge hassle?

Hello

·        What are the updates that you have installed on the computer once you have met the question (number of KB updates)?

Click on the below link to check what are the updates must be installed on the system and manually install the updates one after you download it from the Microsoft Web site. In other words instead of automatic updates, I suggest to download the updates manually from the Microsoft site and then reinstall one by one and check what update is causing this issue and let us know the number of KB.

I'm running a new Dell with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium and have had no problems of access to our wireless internet access. I created a new user account (not asked) the other day, but for some weird reason, I can't access our wireless thanks to the new account.
The computer recognizes the wireless signal, but there seems to be a connection problem. How can I get the internet to work on the new user account?
And just in case where, I know absolutely nothing about computers. We are talking about computers for the tips zero here, please.

Thanks for the quick response, the lot.

I've followed all the steps and was still scratching my head, but an error message popped up while I was in the new account, saying: there was an adapter error. I have a D - Link USB wireless network card thingamijiggy, so I took and plugged into the computer.
He then asked me to confirm my password to access the wireless - perfect internet connection account, no worries.

How were you completely delete a / profile under vista user account?

I have a virus on a different user profile, and I just want to remove this profile.

    (ON VISTA)

    Hello

How to remove a Vista user account - even if you do this, you should check as well
    for malware.
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/93026-user-account-delete.html

Even if you do not see the virus on your other profiles, it might be in areas that will subsequently
cause problems in the other profiles. It would be preferable to eliminate malware from the machine
that can be done without using the profile infected from an ADMIN account.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be harder to detect as
    the cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run
the regular windows when you can.

TDSSKiller.exe. - Download the desktop - so go ahead and right-click on it - RUN AS ADMIN
It will display all the infections in the report after you run - if it will not run changed the name of

  • 10.11.6 updating killed my apps from user account

I just installed the latest updates on the App Store (10.11.6 I guess) to find when restarting the Apps on my main user account (an administrator account) no longer work. The account is running very slow and lazy, struggling to load anything and beach regular balling.

I have a second account, which is a Standard account and Apps work fine here. Since the Standard account, I created a second administrator account and the new account works fine too. Two of these other accounts running at a normal speed with no problems.

This is what is happening on my main administrator account:

    During the initial load:

    After a few minutes:

When you try to open an application:

That's what the new administrator account always sees in the same folders that confirms that there is in fact the Apps:

When you go to user accounts in Control Panel, I automatically get up my account but when I click on 'manage other accounts' and continue, I get a screen saying click account you want to manage but no icons or accounts don't appear in the box below?

If I click on 'create new account' it does not work either, I was able to create accounts by going to the parental controls and after the link, but I can't seem to delete user accounts. I am running Vista Home Premium.

    Any ideas appreciated?

I recommend you to check your admin rights.
Eventually you cannot delete user accounts and cannot change anything because of a bad rights.

  • Why do some executable programs require Windows Vista user account control to start, while others do not?

For example, Iobit Advanced System Care 6 requires user account control to start, while none of the programs Microsoft Office requires user account control to start, but they are all executables (*.exe).  Why?

EXE files may have a small text file embedded in them that controls this behavior (and other). A file called programname.manifest in the same folder can do it too, but one stand-alone exe substitute manifests (vista and later).

Here is one that requires the Admin run and also uses 6 worm of the common controls.

  • Vista - user account question

When I install programs under the user administrator account I can't access the programs of a Standard user account. If I install the program under the Standard user account, I can not see or have access to this account program.  Also how can I allow file and folder sharing between user accounts?

    Hello

    1. this happens with all programs?

Some programs have the current installation option or all users during installation. If your program does not work, you can install it and place a shortcut to it in the location of the "All Users" Start Menu. In this way, all users will have a shortcut for what they can copy and place where they like.

Step 1: To add the shortcut for the program to all users, try the following steps.
1 copy the icon to launch the program and paste it to the location: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program
NOTE: ProgramData is a hidden folder.
Check 'Show hidden files' for the steps in this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files
    2. Once you are done with step 1, you will be able to display the icon of the program here: start-> all programs-> programs

Step 2: Once you install a program in the standard user account. You see the program launch icon on the desktop?
If Yes, then try these steps.
1 right-click on the icon, click on properties.
    2. click on the Compatibility tab.
    3. under privilege level, place a check on "run this program as an administrator".
    4. apply changes and start the program.

Step 3: If step 2 fails, then install the program as an administrator in the standard user account.
    1. right click on the Setup icon, click Run as administrator.
2 follow the instructions in the wizard to install the program.

For more information on the 'sharing files essentials' visit this link:

    Hello

Role separation is advisable for many reasons. In this case, you can create a more flexible and more secure configuration using two accounts. Functionally, it work whatever it is, but if you need to separate the instances in the future you might some unwanted configuration dependencies.
