  • Outlook Express 6. Error code: 0x800ccc0f

    Hi all

I'm trying to solve this problem on my computer at home that my parents use to e-mail. They use Outlook Express 6, (because my father is Office Outlook too complicated!) and get this error message when started OE6 / trying to send/receive:
"Your server has terminated suddenly the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. "Account:"Philip Edwards - BT Yahoo! Mail', server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, error number: 0x800CCC0F.

OE6 continues to download the same 3 messages, coming to the 4th then this error message is displayed. It seems to be able to see how many messages it must download, because the sound out of the i.e. message 2 of 13, continues to go up.
I looked on various forums, and none seem to have exactly this problem. As far as I know, anti virus software has not been updated (its McAfee Security Center) and they had for centuries. Internet connects very well, so no problem there.
Someone at - it ideas on how to solve this problem? Please keep the answers simple, although I am technical interest, I do not understand most of the jargon.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can solve this problem.

I moved your post on the Microsoft Answers forum when it was off-topic on the forum 'Making in network and get online' Windows XP where Outlook Express issues belong.

Contained in the error message POP settings seem to be correct according to !-mail-settings-for-outgoing-and-incoming-mail-servers%3F http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6876/~/what-are-the-bt-yahoo, but they are unusual for Yahoo, they do specify encrypted connections.  Because you pay BT for the account, I think you should talk to them.  You can also find some general technical troubleshooting here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/813514

    error0x800CCC0F

I get a message from explicit outlook 0x800CCC0F error that prevents e-mails to transfer my bt yahoo mailbox. This problem has occurred since the end of last year. There are occasions when the transfer is made, but it is intermittent. BT tell me it is a sequel to a modification of windows security and the difficulty with Windows. They will advise a round work but not a solution. Is there a way to fix?
Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
    http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

The way most effective to do this is to completely remove the program anti-virus and then perform a custom installation. When the possibility of withdrawing the e-mail analysis arises, remove.

If that fixes it, please post any error message in its entirety. You can left click on it to highlight then right click to copy and then paste in this thread. Just the number of code alone is not enough.

If it was working very well before and you make no changes, I doubt that it is a permission issue. The error message that reflects. This is the e-mail scan more likely to interfere with the download.

  • Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0F - «your server was terminated suddenly the connection...» »

    De : M.V.Miller

Vista window Mail & Windows Live Mail both give me the same error:

Your server suddenly put an end to the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Subject ' test... remove this (way join; 350ko)'
    Server: 'smtp.fuse.net '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0F
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25

    Secure (SSL): No.
    Socket error: 10053

If the mail is just text, it passes generally through. A small accessory (60KO ' ish) sometimes sends. A greater attachment always generates the error message

I disabled the scan to email from my AV, both for incoming & outgoing messages. It is AVG Free Edition, Ver.8.0.169.

My ISP tech support says that my setup is correct; that the problem must be a bug in my email client... "call", they say... It was at their suggestion I went from WM to WLM. The problems all seem to have begun when the IAF spent my connection DSL of the CAPM method (using a Cisco 675 modem) mode DMT (with a Westell 6100 modem). (does anyone know what I just said, there?...) I don't have!)

.. .anybody have ideas? I am open to any suggestions at this point.

So Windows XP you pretty much has the same result as Vista, regarding the sending of attachments. To exclude the server as being the cause of the problem, you should try another server. Get a free account with Gmail, which will allow
    you try their server smtp.gmail.com.
