0xc000000e error - no recovery disk

So, two days ago the laptop crashed and after reboot we received the above error message: 0xc000000e: cannot start Windows.

The only options we could choose were the repair feature or start windows normally.  Both options lead right back to the error screen.  Repair does nothing.

We pressed F8 to try to get into safe mode.  Which also goes well back to the error screen.

We have pressed F10 and conducted tests on the primary and secondary hard drives as well as memory and they all come that "past."

Pressing F11 brings us back to the error screen.

As I mentioned in the title, we have no recovery disk.

Are there any other tips or tricks that we use to possibly get the laptop working again?

Thank you

JC

I think it was a hardware problem.

Test your hard drive or use another method to reinstall.

If she reinstalls properly, it must be a hardware problem.

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > search your computer specifications > know brand of hard drive > access the Hard Drive manufacturer's Web site > find and download hard drive Diagnostic software and make a record of start of it on the computer that you use to get here, following their instructions > test your hard drive to see if it has failed.

And you can also use this method to test your hard drive:

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

This can help you (download files and make your own DVDs):

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do it for a small fee

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I write this cause maybe it could be useful to someone in the same situation I was.

After the events of my Z930, I decided to reinstall my laptop to the State of Out-Of-Box. In my first time I got an error, that I didn't understand, so I did on the second attempt:

1 extract in the Bios and set the COMMAND SATA COMPATIBILITY MODE
2 erase all SSD, data, partitions, sectors... etc ALL

    The second attempt was successful!

Usually if the problem is option SATA solution should not be the BIOS option change but load SATA driver before Win7 installation begins. With SATA option enabled (no compatibility mode) HARD drive works correctly and with maximum efficiency.

Your solution is just solution and a sort of temporary solution.

Don't know what else to suggest other than using recovery discs to reinstall. If you have recovery disks, the recovery partition is not really necessary, more a convenience than using disks, that's all.

  • Satellite L30 recovery disk failed: could not do language input error

I have a L30-101, which has been slow to turn on. Another forum suggested going in ms config to ensure the maximum memory used to initialize and uncheck that some elements to start. When I rebooted, windows icons have been expanded and slightly blurry, so I undid the changes I did but windows is still not clear. The laptop works well otherwise, so I recorded that restore data, I needed and tried a system, but the computer can't find any restore points.

As a last resort, I tried the Toshiba product recovery disk which I had never used it before. He begins to read it ok, then asks for the choice of the English language. About 10 minutes later it stops with the error message "could not get a writing of the language of the INI file! Article: [Commom] key InstallCMD file D:\Setenv.ini.
When I hit OK to clear the message the Administrator page says could not initialize the raid class no RAID-continue normally.

When I restart the laptop it brings back me to my previous state with blurry icons, another way to work laptop and all my old data is still there.

I have since bought a new portable Satellite L450D that I write this, but I'm eager to try to lift my L30 and working again as a spare. I contacted Toshiba UK in case there was a problem with the recovery disk, but due to licensing issues they can only redirect me to the support of EU toshiba backup site to buy a new recovery disk. As I already have a recovery disk, I don't want to buy another for the same results. Does anyone have ideas on how I could get the recovery disk to load entirely and recover my laptop to its factory settings?

At first, I must say that you should back up all your important data to an external device like external HD or USB. When you use the recovery facilities disc all the partition is deleted.

I don't know why you cannot use livery recovery disk, but the only thing to do is to visit nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and show the problem. If they can confirm recovery DVD is defective, I assume that you will get a new free of charge.

    Hello

You mean that you cannot start the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery disk you created?

Go into the BIOS and check if the CD/DVD drive is recognized. It should appear on the first page of the BIOS.
If the CD/DVD drive is not listed, then you should set the compatible SATA mode and must save the changes.
After this attempt to boot again from the recovery disc.

    I also searched on the Toshiba driver European page for info and found a few details;

There is an update of firmware for CD/DVD TS-L633A and TS-L633P player.
This Firmware solves "sometimes not able to writing on DVD + R media'.
The problem occurs only on DVD + R media, other media type have no problem.

I have a Satellite L300 too and didn t have problems to create the Toshiba recovery disc. I used DVD - R Verbatim media and usually got the best experience with the manufacture of DVD and DVD - R types.

In your case, I would try this DVD media or the TDK DVD-R discs. If you can find t he on the store closest to the computer you can also order it online. Take a look on Amazon or eBay, here, you can order these media.

    Hello Angela

In the past I ve created recovery for many models of different laptops, but I've never seen this error message.

My experience is that the use of DVD-R media only works perfectly, especially if you use well-known brands like TDK or Verbatim.

  • Satellite A135-S4666 - recovery disk displays an error message

The hard drive crashed while I replaced it. I am trying to use the recovery disk to take the computer to the "out of the box configuration.

I chose to 'recover' rather than erase the hard drive based on this choice. Then it copies the files from the first disc and pushes me to the second. After putting the other continues to copy files. Finally, she moves more to 'recover now' she does and seems to be using the hard disk newly installed something between 35 and 50% of the task. At this point, I get an error message stating "error recovery" and invites me to press ok to shut down the computer and spits out the CD. The error message is coded 10-FC12-0002. I tried 4 or 5 times with the same result.

Am I supposed to use disc erase first, and then use the recovery mode since it is a new hard drive? Or I have a defective recovery disc?

Any comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated, I do not get the case at this stage.

    Hello

It's not easy to tell if it s a recovery disk problem or if the new HARD drive is the problem. Have you tested a Microsoft disc for example? If the disc of Microsoft is, it seems that your recovery disc is noisy and needs to be replaced. Otherwise the new drive HARD cause this problem.

Check this box to determine the cause of this problem!

  • Satellite C650 - error reading disk and the recovery disk does not work

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite C650, who has recently developed with a disc read error. I want to access the command prompt to try some possible solutions I've read on the internet.

I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other acer laptop which has also installed Windows 7 64-bit. When I use the recovery disk and it loaded the files etc it evokes just a black screen and the cursor.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
I tried to start my computer acer laptop from the recovery disk and it worked fine.

As is - this does anyone have suggestions as to why I get the message "disk read error - press ctrl, alt and delete to restart?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis, but of course, there must be a problem with the HARD drive. Can you get a second one for test purposes and exchange it. Just to be sure if the HDD is troublemaker.

    But there is something else:
    > I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other computer acer laptop...
Sorry, but I don t understand this. Can you please explain what you did exactly?
