I would use the computer mostly for typing documents, continuous music and video, make presentations and some very light iMovie and photo work. Also the macbook would perform slowly with

I bought Lightroom 5 should I switch to Lightroom CC?

    Hey Philly,

There is no such application named CC with Lightroom. However, we have 5 Lightroom which is already a part of the creative cloud.

So, in short, 5 Lightroom is available as a perpetual product and creating Cloud(as of now).

The advantage of having it with CC, it is that you get additional storage space and availability for the next versions of Lightroom.

That should answer most of your questions. http://helpx.Adobe.com/Lightroom/KB/Lightroom-creative-cloud-FAQ.html

  • Should I switch from Mavericks (MBPro mid-2009)

I have a MacBook Pro mid-2009 (2.26 GHz/4 GB/1 TB HD) which is running Mavericks 10.95. I read how El Capitan appears to be an improvement on Yosemite and some people saying that it helped their old Mac (like mine) work better. Now that 10.11.2 is out I think try it and have a few questions. Any other relevant detail is that I have everything backed up using Time Machine I'm currently using with a Time Capsule. I have also two external drives of 4 GB. I intend using Time Machine as a backup of rotation between the two drives and using the Capsule of time for something else or maybe just sell it.

    - Because I just want to try El Capitan and see for myself how it behaves, I better create a second partition on my internal drive or install it on a external drives which is connected to my MacBook via USB 2? If it is preferable to install inside, should what size partition I create?

-I'm not a user with power by all means. The apps I use most are Chrome for internet, iTunes (with a library of 250 GB) and the latest version of Aperture (library of 100 GB and growning). I've never had two operating systems on my computer before. Can I have a copy of these libraries on each partition or drive? I don't think, but just a question for you.

-Is it still a good idea? Other that the split view and maybe a spot improvements, I am not too interested in features. I'm mostly interested in stability and perhaps improve the speed. If I didn't have Aperture 3, I would probably go back to Snow Leopard, but I'm curious to know if El Capitan is an improvement of Mavericks for my old MacBook.

During the beta test software I always install it on a separate drive or volume. This way I can experiment all I want and always start again under my previous operating system if I get in a tight corner. He can run a bit slower on an external drive, but in my experience the difference is barely noticeable. With firewire connections, USB 2 will be a little slower. I would advise using your port firewire 800 for it. I would also advise using one of your backup drives or volumes as a clone. You can do either with SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner. The advantages of clones are they are bootable and they are exact copies that you can read in the Finder and copy the files/folders on to another drive. The clones are my main source of backup, Time Machine is useful to me about once a year when I trashed an email, I need again.

No, you don't need to do anything with the libraries, or anything else. When you are satisfied with El Capitan, you can simply wipe your internal drive and clone El Cap from your outside on your inside.

  • Should I switch to OSX El Capitan?

    Hello

I am not questioning if I should move to El Capitan or not. I read the reviews on the Mac App Store, and most seem to say it is a great improvement to the Yosemite, only I'm not either on Yosemite. Currently, I am on OSX 10.9.5, the computer is slow to open applications and at startup. This is my computer information:

I'm afraid El Capitan will just make my computer run slower and kill it, or it will be a great improvement.

So I decided to ask the people who know these things.

    Pass or not?

    Thank you.

    My MBP has similar specs.

I upgraded the RAM 8 GB.

I have OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 installed on it.

I have not experienced any problem so far.

  • Should I switch usb 2.0 cable to a usb 3.0 port on my canon printer mg 8220?

I got a new printer of 6 ft USB 3.0 Atlona cable model #AT11014-2. The power cable is a pearstone Usb 2.0 Type A male to Type B male 6 ft printer cable, but taken in a port rear usb 3.0. 6 ft USB 3.0 Atlona cable will be a faster or just usb 2.0 speeds up for printing & scanning on canon mg 8220 printer, answer soon?

    I have

    Dell xps desktop

    64-bit Windows 8
    Hardware devices

    have 6 usb 3.0 ports usb 2.0 and 4

    Reference Dell 23 E2313H monitor

    Canon
mg8220 inkjet printer and dell keyboard and mouse Dell.

    bofish,

USB ports produce low current bery. I read that further, the current least lucky to the end of the cable. For this reason I recommended him using a usb cable of 3 feet, by helping with the Dell inkjet printers.

The difference between a 2.0 and a usb 3.0 cable, perhaps should be some wires, but it should be compatible.

If the cable is connected to a usb 2.0 port, you will not be able to see a difference. If the cable is connected to a usb 3.0 port, you can see a little faster transfer.

Over the usb cable, sometimes you have to get a powered usb adapter to help communication.

  • Should I switch to 8.1 and I have a choice?

I'm not very good with the computer stuff and I need help.  I bought an HP computer in 2013 and I had to do a system recovery, last week, who re-installed Windows 8 on my desk.  I don't know why I had to do the collection, but I know that I started to get into trouble that when Windows 8.1 updated on my system last January.  Tiles quit functioning Office (unused, so I care), my printer would not work consistently (boring, but I just worked around it), and my automatic updates does not automatically update and install (a fact that was not discovered until three weeks when I was struck with a bunch of virus... what a waste!).  Then, I made the recovery of the system, and things all work again, Hooray!

Now, I get a notice to update to 8.1 and my questions are...

    (1) is there a way to avoid the update?  I'm just getting used to things working again, and I'm not excited about an update of disorder.

    (2) I understand that the new update (what is it called, 8.1.1?) is no longer available for Windows 8.1 users, and 8.1 of Windows is no longer supported.  First of all, what the devil?  Windows 8 is not so old, and now the update so it is obsolete?  Rhetorical a question side, should I avoid the 'upgrade' from Windows 8 for Windows 8.1?

If you are able to access the following features in Windows 8.1 update 1, then installed sound, see the following article of the wiki to make changes in Windows 8.1 update 1. If you do not see these changes, then its has not been yet.

  • Should two switches for the installation of iSCSI SAN - be stacked

I mean by "stacked" should they be hung by backplane?  Reference Dell passes, btw.

Just two hosts connected to an iSCSI SAN.

If the goal is to be completely redundant, your server is able to cable a physical NIC directly on each switch and your San can connect to both switches, there is no reason for the connections between these switches. Stacking of the switches can provide options for a large number of cases, but I don't think it will be here.

  • EPSON printers E - Web Print is not included in your "approved modules" you will allow me to keep/use it anyway in 41 or should I switch to a different browser?

Your new "signed apps" will not allow use of unsigned after the 41 version. This won't allow 'E - Web Print' Epson app right now, and the description says you will be disable rather than allow me to assume the risk. I like Firefox, but won't trash my new Epson printer - so will be forced to use another browser. Will allow users to assume the risk for applications not signed for a longer period, so that these exclusions do not occur for those willing to take the risks?

The simplest solution would be to Epson to present this extension for Mozilla for the signature. Mozilla plans to signature, without obligation to host it to AMO extensions self-hosted.

But of course, they do not is that they do not support this request more. Support FAQ selected in Epson

Exactly what he controls only the extension?
What would not work if the user was not able to use this extension?
Regarding printing email - Firefox is not yet "doing email." And print from a webmail portal would not happen as it does on a Web page.

"On Firefox and IE my Epson E - Web Print extension is presented as an optional toolbar that allows me to clip and print. Epson says it's compatible with Chrome, however, no matter what I try I can't it appears. »

This can be done using the print preview when you use an extension like this:

    Hello

Yes; you would have to buy 7.

There is no free upgrade to Windows 7.

There was a special offer to do that a few years back; but this offer has expired for a long time.

Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
