#1 DVD ripper

I installed this program yesterday evening. I kept problems so I decided that the best course of action has been uninstall, remove, and then reinstall. I went into Control Panel and uninstalled the program. So when I try to reinstall it says that the files already exsist and I am not allowed to crush them. So I go into computer and program files, look for the folder and tries to remove it. He asks me I'm sure I told him to continue. Then he asks me to leave. I give, but then another screen appears and tells me I need permission to move the folder. Not only have I given permission. I'm under the administrator of this computer, so I should be all right. What in the world is going on. The reason why I wanted to reinstall is also because this "thing" kept to spoil the. For any future reference when I get the uninstall/reinstall thing figured out I need to know what to do.

Original problem:
Whenever I tried to rip a DVD the thing says "Fail to initial encoder" I kept messing around with the setting but nothing has ever changed. Then the other half of the time he told me it is a runtime error, but does not specify what type, it just said "abnormal program termination" but does not give properties or the explanation of what it means. Please help me. Thank you very much

My apologies, I see now your message is titled "#1 DVD ripper" I suggest you contact their support being that microsoft does not offer third-party programs in favor.

In any case, what is a good DVD ripper software?

I have some movies on DVD (with menus, etc.), which are non-commercial unprotected DVD.  I have full right to get video off them.

They are actually in my storage in the form of ISO images.

Right now I use the free version of WinX DVD Ripper.  I'm willing to pay for something better.

The two most widely recommended are Handbrake (free) and MPEG Streamclip (free, but also requires the reading QT component, which Apple sells more).

  • DVD Ripper - I want to know how the DVD in my computer as a CD ripper.

Hi, I want to know how the DVD in my computer as a CD ripper.

    Very well!

First of all this information works the DVD you own and varies depending on what version of Windows you are running.
If you need instructions for Vista or XP let me know, I'll give you instructions for Windows 7 (any version).

Initially to create a library called movies

    1. open your library view and right-click on the empty space.
    2. click on new-> library
    3. name your library. I called my own films so is easy to locate
    4. open your new library by double clicking on the icon
    5. click on include a folder, so a browse box appears
6 navigate on your way to the user of the rot. (This folder should contain my music, my documents etc.)
    7. right click and select new-> folder.
8 call this record movies or DVD, then click on include the folder in the box go.

    The library has created...

To rip the DVD on your computer, I recommend a program called DVD Shrink. It allows to create copies compressed your DVDs while retaining the structure of the menu, special features, etc. and you can reduce an image DVD at 40% of its original size.

You'll need to hunt this software online because there are many people who speak but does not host the file.

Once you have ripped the DVD Shrink it helps in a folder in your C:\ drive normally will be called the same as the DVD.

Move this file into your movie library and hey presto your first movie.

You can then add this wo Windows Media Center Library using the add folder function and watch your dvd without going through the DVD in the drive.

If you need further instructions on DVDShrink let me know and I'll try to implement this step by step.

  • convert dvd to play on a macbook

I am trying to convert my West Wing DVD set so I can put it on a portable drive or my macbook for when I'm travelling.  I bought the Aimersoft DVD Ripper but an error when you try to convert saying "file of the CCS cannot convert.

On my laptop, I use to use Magic DVD ripper but I can't get this work.

I know it is not possible due to costs but can any advise on this?  Otherwise, I've wasted money on the ripper of Aimersoft.

  • Pavilion Touchsmart 17-e123cl: reading a VOB file on the disc is pixelated and its so strange, but from the dvd is ok.

    Hello

I have a laptop of 17-e123cl Pavilion Touchsmart with installed PowerDVD12.  If I play the videos from the drive VDV plays it very well, but if I copy the DVD to the hard drive and try to play there the image has a lot of large blocks and horizontal bars in the picture and the sound is messed up.  Since the HARD drive is a 1 5400 to disc it should be even faster than the DVD player, but it looks like that is the question.  Is there any other driver that I need to get things working correctly from the hard drive?  When I travel, I can't bring DVD in some countries, but the movies on the hard drive are not a problem (normally).  Same thing happens if copied to a flash drive.  Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello

Yes, this is the problem because they are two different file systems/structures. Normally you rip the DVD to a correct video file format and view on your computer. Please try:

  • How rip DVD using Windows Media Player 12?

Original title: I have windows 7 and want to ripp dvd on windows media and not having much luck any ideas? __

Hi, I am wanting to put a dvd video holiday on my windows media player. I don't see how you ripp my single player music video is possible. Can you please advice

    Hey stevpw65,

It is not possible to rip DVD using Windows Media Player. You must use a program designed to legally to copy files from a DVD to a computer.

Unlike the DVD, you can rip a CD using the player. Information is available here.

    Extract music from a CD
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/rip-music-from-a-CD

Please use your favorite search engine and browse for a DVD ripper software which can be used for this purpose.

Note: Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be resolved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • BlackBerry smartphones my DVD to my blackberry curve? Is this possible?

I understand questions 'copyright', but in my mind, I bought the DVD, so I should be able to put on the portable device of my choice.

A hard time finding a real 'free' DVD ripper which 1) is truly free and 2) works.  I used the akme FFmpeg transcoder to convert MPEG I have to MP4 (works very WELL by the way).  But I want to be able to drag and drop a dvd so that I can have something to entertain me while I am waiting for two hours at the Office of the chiropractor!  CERTAINLY, there is a way to do this!

I've never heard of a simple Drag 'n' drop to rip the DVD.

    Well, that was yesterday.

Today, I heard of http://mobidvd.xulsoft.org/ which does just that. And is free.

  • What do you do when a DVD is the only one of the images that you got?

OK, so here is the story, I posted something like this about a week on a discussion forum earlier, but now some of the components have changed.

A family member took some of our reel 8mm film transfer to have put images on DVD somewhere. Well the DVD's very, but I wanted to participate in this DVD and edit it so that I could make a film tribute of documentry about my father who died awhile back. On this DVD, ago about 8 minutes from the right sequence of him I would use, so I used a trial DVD Ripper/converter software and converted to MPEG2 and the results were excellent, quality appeared just as good as the DVD and I'd be fine with use for my documentry/tribute film, when I imported into first 1.5 it plays fine on the monitor and he actually plays great on the timeline, no complaints. Now when I'm going to make it, he plays all jerky as executives get all messed up or something. On this earlier discussion I posted this information, people had replied that I need to get the 8mm film and transferred it to mini DV or on a hard drive, so I can edit it from there. Although the problem is the film 8mm original got thrown after the DVD, so all I have is the DVD. Is there any setting I can change in first it is so jerky all like it when I make it or is it possible that I can have the DVD transferred to mini DV tape and then change it to first as usual? I don't know what to do and I really need the images on the DVD. I realize I'm going to lose quality, but that's all I have, so I have to make it work. Video transfer locations have the opportunity to put a DVD into a format which usually lose a lot of quality, is it possible to transfer mini-DV or is there a way I can? Please, please help,

    Thank you

    Jason

For those following along at home, I said to Jason by PM.

A large part will be eliminated, but given the situation, my recommendation is to use either a digital video camera with passthrough (or bridge of A & D) capabilities to food from the drive of DVD and DV - AVI Type II capture for editing. Yes, there will be always the first compression MPEG-2 (no way around it), and then, if the DVD-video is the scheduled release, another MPEG-2 transcoding.

I had suggested going back to the maximum with the flow, transcoding this topic to use in a DVD-video.

I hope that someone else has a plan even better for Jason, so that can get the best possible result, regardless of what the source of the layer footage is in this case.

It is also unnecessary to suggest that goes back to the original 8mm, they no longer exist. Obviously, if possible, which would be ideal and fair telecine on a miniDV cassette. Unfortunately, this is not a possibility.

    Open to other ideas,

  • Captain El

I've heard good and bad things about the latest OS, El captain. Don't know if I want to take a chance or not from what I've heard about my research, so I ask. And since I'm on MacX DVD ripper, I want to assure you that I will have questions. When we lost iPhotos (I was told I could transfer my photos, but no, all the files that I no longer have access too). Thanks for your help, have a great. I don't know that I'll have more questions.

    Ted

I'm not clear on what your question is

The El captain is clean and solid and used by many, millions of users per day - and because you choose not to disclose this software you have (I doubt it's OS X 10.7.5 as you say) about everything that can be said is that you should never go without a good backup in case something is wrong or you do not upgrade , not one, but you can can make your decisions for you, and upgrade to iPhoto Photos loses no records or albums - structure entire iPhoto is postponed - How Photos handles content and metadata for iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support

Pictures is a new and different program which requires learning and new workflows, but just about any means is better than iPhoto

  • How iTunes will include marketing / given blank media library?

Scenario: an accident is stupid enough, I formatted the disk external USB I said iTunes to store all its media (using iTunes preferences). Since I got the vast majority of the data from the formatted disk (Stellar Phoenix to the rescue). It includes: music I ripped from CDs, movies I ripped the DVD, "digital copies" when it was a thing, as well as everything I bought on iTunes. It is NOT in the original folder structure and file names are still the same. It is also worth noting that I have iTunes game.

Question: iTunes is going to do when I start it? It has been closed since the show. I intend that it points to an array of newly purchased raid an external USB 3 and my hope is that iTunes will:

    • Let me download all my music.
    • Let me download all my purchased movies (and books, apps, etc.).
    • Alow me to identify the location of the missing files, including the DVD rippe.

.. and all this together on the new external drive.

Is anyone able to confirm the desired behavior, or lack thereof? And someone has any advice... ?

For the curious, iTunes behaves as desired. With the intact library (on my local hard drive), it simply could not find the corresponding files - but it did not cause of aberrant behavior.

I am able to download "all" my music (although it comes out of the music was not in iTunes game - particularly my old DRM'ed iTunes purchases), all my movies purchased and all my TV shows purchased. iTunes prompts me to "locate" the files that were missing for individual items, so it'll be a job from me to re - associate my DVD rippe and 'digital copies. I can also re - associate some of my old music of DRM'ed, but it's a little, so that could get ugly.

  • iTunes - some movies 'read' unsupported library

I have therefore several hundred movies that I ripped my DVDs in digital format on an external hard drive.  They are all organized and whatnot in folders by genre etc and so on, I am sure that many people have...

The question I have is that while all worked before, some are now throwing up the message 'video playback is not supported' dreaded when I try to play them in iTunes.  The thumbnail in the library is now just the generic grey music notes and I can't copy on other devices (or more importantly, play on my apple TV).  The files themselves are very good: I can read on my computer to my heart.  Even remove them from the library and their restoration of links does not work.

I'd say it's an impact about 15-20% of my video files... and it's incredibly frustrating, as the only way to restore them is to remove the video file of origin, re-dvd Ripper and re import... which would be great if I had not let down most of my DVDs.

I've tried install iTunes for older video cards, re-install quick time etc as those who have been sommon solutions.

Any suggestions for how to fix this?

    Really?  Has anyone seen this?
