1 TB HARD drive to Win8.1 m2 new SSD (591 G-VN7-73Y5)

I have an SSD M.2 expedition shortly and move Win8.1 from the HARD disk of 1 TB for the new disc.  I'll use the two drives, 1 TB of storage and SSD for the OS and programs.  I read a few threads on this but have a question.

It would be preferable to use a migration program to move BONES or can I do a fresh install on the SSD at a USB flash (Acer recovery facility)?

The ideal situation would be a new installation of the OS on the SSD and format 1 TB HARD drive.  I have a USB key that I'll put the acer recovery information and would like to do a new installation if possible.

Since windows 8.x use UEFI BIOS and it starts on windows startup management, you can set the SSD or HDD as primary boot device, but only the windows startup management.

probably you not facing any problem, try to install the USB to the SSD and check if it starts automatically the SSD.

If you wish, you can wipe the HARD drive before using the USB recovery media, create a USB bootable with partition magic software media and wipe the HARD drive before you start the whole process.

Ugggh.  I have a 27-inch iMac late 2011 and the hard drive was updated with a new SSD.  The integrated cd/dvd had to be taken out.  I then bought a thought of superdrive, it should work.  It's frozen on my iMac!  Gee, who could have possibly guessed that would happen?  I tried all kinds of silly workarounds, I found on the internet, but still it will not register the stack of DVDs and other discs I have.

If you're like me and upgraded your iMac that came with a cd/dvd drive internal... so he has to come out to give way to the fusion or the SSD drive, do NOT buy the apple superdrive.  It will work with your computer!

Think I'll get a laptop samsung...

Ironic, isn't it? Own Apple SuperDrive will not work with Apple computers. Shame you don't check here first that we would have warned you. Return Apple overpriced and buy a nice third-party player for a third of the price. I love the LG units. You can consider a loading plate because they are more reliable, and you can use these pesky disc when you get one.

  • Support MacBook Pro OS 10.7.5 using Time Machine on hard drive external & Clean install on new SSD capital El

I ordered a new SSD to upgrade my 2011 MacBook Pro that runs on OS 10.7.5. I would like to install own El Capitan on the new SSD. Can I save my current hard drive using Time Machine and an external hard drive and then re - download my old stuff in the new SSD? Is this possible at all?

Basically, I want the new SSD to be as clean as possible. Obviously, I would only the files and applications on my computer current to be transferred. I would be grateful and recommendations on the best way to do this. Thank you.

Look at these links for orientation:

I would format the new SSD in Mac OS extended (journaled), personally Run Time Machine to install your data and then install El Capitan.  In the end, it's your decision.

  • Hard drive partition and install the new operating system

    HY,

If I partition my hard drive and I install a new OS (E.g. Ubuntu 14.04) my warranty ends?

    Thank you

    SA

    Hello

No, it will not void the warranty but HP only supports the problems with the original operating system and prove the operation of the equipment of the original OS.

Do the recovery disks and keep them safe before so that you could go back to factory settings if there is no problem of partitioning.

Recovery partition usually works after partitioning, depends on your luck, but you could make the 'Active' Partition in disk management and try for recovery if it works or not.

    Thank you

Contact the manufacturer of your computer that you initially provided with your computer, with Office already installed.
Ask them to provide the office disk/s.

  • Get the old hard drive to work on the new processor

I am a PC Tech company with problems on PC at home.

My Win 7 Home Premium Dell Studio T435/9000 dead.  It was a motherboard problem, I chose not to replace the CPU/Mo with a duplicate.  The hard disk MBR is good, I could read it and when I installed in an Optiplex 990 at work, it is initialized.

I had the chance to receive a new Dell T5610 with 2 CPUs of a parent.  It came with professional Win7 preinstalled on an SSD, UEFI boot on a GPT disk.  But all my apps are absent and even a rat-pack obsessives like me do not have all the CD and install the files for the various applications on the old hard drive.

I want to use my old hard drive on the new PC, then after that it's stable, migrate the old hard drive to the SS disc supplied with the PC.

First problem was to learn the differences between MBR and GPT.  After this was learning that Home Premium does not work on a PC with two separate processors.  I use Win7 professional for that.  With the help of this forum, I was able to do this by using the Optiplex 990.  I run Win7 Professional on the Optiplex 990.

I take the former home of hard disk go BIOS to legacy.  Old hard drive that boots on 990, does not start on T5610.

I try various advanced options, safe mode, low-resolution video, nothing works.  I get a BSOD is a hard drive error, STOP 040000007 B.

I try Startup Repair tool and get the following:

    Problem event name

    Offline Startup Repair

    1 6.1.7600.16385

    2 6.1.7600.16385

    5 Autofailover

    6 1

    7. bad driver

    6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 OS version

    Locale 1033

How can I get my old hard drive to work with the new processor.  Is it a question of Dell, a Win7 Office.  As the hard drive starts up successfully on another CPU, I believe that the hard drive is good.

Thank you very much for your help!

Thanks to you all.  But the solution was completely different.

Dell said the motherboard on the accuracy was so different from my old PC that unless I reinstalled Win7 Professional from scratch on the old hard drive, motherboard would not work with the old hard drive.

They have guaranteed that the old hard drive would work on a 8700 XPS.  After some problems, I managed to do the work.  Problem solved.

Transfer facilities of Adobe does not normally operate.  You must reinstall using installation files.  At a minimum you must disable, but you may find that you need to uninstall and reinstall.

  • Replace the HARD drive in mid-2012 MBP of SSD?

Given to replace my HARD drive of 1 TB in MBP mid-2012.  This MBP has already been customized (by Apple) to 2.9 GHz i7 8 GB mem.

I'm looking for a solution at least to 1 TB also. How about this:

Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB 2.5 inch SATA III internal SSD (MZ-75E1T0B/AM)

IS it really that simple, as suggested by some video: current copy to SSD connected externally, than to go ahead with replacement? Then you can continue normal OSX updates as usual?

    Is it really worth?

Yes, I do some "prosumer" video (FCP) and audio (Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools) - and use external USB 3 HARD drive.

Yes, it was worth it. The difference between day and night.

It's easy. How to create a clone of startup

I don't know Samsung but 2.5 "is inside that you need, SATA III Yes.

but another highly recommended option is https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/lineup

    MacBook Pro (15-inch mid-2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), i7 480 GB SSD 16 GB RAM iPhone5 iOS10.0.1, Parallels10.0.2, HP OfficeJet Pro 8620

  • Upgrade the hard drive in the Libretto U100 to SSD drive

Anyone who undertakes an upgrade of the hard drive in a Libretto U100 to a SSD? This would surely greatly improve performance. What size is the hard drive in the U100 and which connector is used to connect the drive? Can anyone tell if this mod is possible?

    Spymaster

So, I have a machine with an SSD (Tecra M5) and it works like a charm. Unfortunately, the discs are too expensive at the moment but you can benefit from a real performance.

Regarding your question: should be possible. You have a 1.8 inch drive "installed and there are SSDS which have almost the same form factor. Usually the U100 was delivered with MK6006GAH or MK3006GAL disks.

Here´s a site that might help, given that the reader has the same connector as the disc in your computer: http://www.dvnation.com/microatapics.html

Just check it out and I hope you can use my index research on SSDS... :)

  • Hard drive WD3200BEKT is replaceable with newer model, the WD3200BEKX?

I have a HP G62-231NR notebook model and I need to replace the hard drive. The hard drive, he came up with what is WD3200BEKT-60V5T1.  I found this on Amazon at this link that looks like, simply:

    http://www.Amazon.com/black-320-mobile-hard-drive/DP/B001CO3EKQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics & ie = UTF8 & qid...

I have also seen that there is a "newer model of this point", which is called the WD3200KEBX.  I found this on Amazon here:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Western-Digital-Black-notebook-WD3200BEKX/DP/B00DSUTVYK/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

I wonder if the KEBX is compatible with the KEBT and even if yes, what is the difference?  It would be advisable to go with the newer model, the KEBX?

(Pricing is $2, so this isn't a factor)

    Thanks for your help!

Either one will work. The only difference is one is a retail disc and it is a package in bulk... sold to system integrators and other systems. Same basic material. For the same price, you could actually find a 500 gig.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822145587

It's a record (7mm) thin, but has twice the cache (32 vs 16 megs megs) would be a little faster. It will work. You don't need to replace the exact drive. All 2.5 inches wide 7 or 9.5 mm SATA HDD works. You could even install a hybrid propulsion system or the solid state drive.

    Hi JP,

You can get a replacement from the hard drive of any computer dealer/repairer. Just make sure that get you one that matches your drive in which features concerns the physical dimensions.

You can also get one of the many internet retailers even if you then need to wait for delivery.

  • Access my external hard drive to Windows on my new Mac

    Hello world

I am a new user of Mac Yosemite, recently moved from Windows and I am a passionate photographer

All my photos are saved on two external hard drives of laptop computer Windows

Is it possible to access outside data by car and it is hard on the Mac

I keep reading things on the partition and FAT32 or the disc running utilities to reformat, but I'll lose all the images on the external hard drive

I feel like I'm missing something here

[What should I do to be able to view my images on Mac, I will then load in Lightroom for editing [the forest of Lightroom] that I'm very good]

    Thank you... Venus

Simply connect the player and open the files. Unless you need to write to the disk, you don't need to do anything else.

  • Cannot set the password for hard drive on the W530 with Intel SSD 520

    Hello

I have a w530 with an Intel SSD 520 in primary hard drive Bay. Whenever I try to set a password for the primary hard drive, it doesn't stick. If I chose master + user or simply user, I will enter the password, it will take the passwords without producing an error and then just dump back me to the screen of passwords while leaving the disabled hard drive password.

BIOS is on the latest version for the w530 and SSD, the machine seems fairly normally operate differently.

Does anyone have ideas how I can activate the password? Thank you!

    Hi, ctenorman

I did some research and came across this thread of Intel. There are a few people in the thread who were able to set the password on this particular drive. It seems that changing the BIOS "SATA" compatibility mode, set the password, restart, and then change it to "AHCI" worked for some, but not all customers with this player.

Good luck and let me know how it goes

    Adam
