  After migration, iMovie now blocks whenever I try to open a project. Every time. All other applications are very good. I even opened the original library from my old drive, opens the library of my Time Machine backup and they all down when I double-click on the icon for ANY project!

  The files are not corrupt because they have not changed. It doesn't matter which library I use, it crashes whenever I try to open a project.

  So far, everything on the Mac works fine. Other applications of Apple, everything! Please someone help me solve this problem because I use iMovie on a regular basis and have SEVERAL projects open that I can't afford to remove.

  If I understand your message that iMovie crashes when you try to open a project. I know the importance of your projects are as I like to use iMovie as well. First of all, I would like to check to see that iMovie will appear in your shopping list in the Mac App Store. If so, delete the app and then reinstall it.

  If this isn't the case, so do not delete the app. Instead, follow this link:

  Who also advises to test the problem in safe mode. This article includes the steps to start your MacBook Pro in safe mode:

  Your applications are not stored in iCloud, only your application data backups.

  There is no reason to store millions of copies of a single application for millions of users, because apps can always be re-uploaded again, for free on the App Store.

  For some reason, all my apps are gone. Last night I was with my computer, I installed a new program (PHPStorm) used for awhile and just before I got a notification from the system update so I clicked on the option to install and stop and went to bed.

  This morning I turned it on and I noticed that non of my icons app showed in the dock, so I restarted my computer and nothing, once again no apps, I went into the folder Applications/system and it is empty, only the messaging application and file utilities are there, after that I have restarted/rebooted several times but nothing. Interested in the thing is that I went and used the guest account and everything is there infact I created a new account and all my Applications are there and work very well.

  I know that I can start with a new account, but it is would be a pain because I lost all my data applications (Quicken, Terminal Configurations etc.) and any configuration, I have by application. I have an old time Machine up (a few months).

  No idea what I could do before I move on to a new account?

  Try all of the following conditions:

  Try to reset all the settings in the settings under general app and in the right column under restore.

  Try stories reset and delete/reset the caches in all web browsers you use.

  To my knowledge unless you download a third party such as Advanced Task Killer App, you can only close applications active one at a time. If you are looking for an alternative, I suggest looking at game store of Google for a Task Killer app may be able to contribute to what you want to do.

  My Vista 64-bit system ran like a dream - until I tried to install Roxio Creator 2010.  When the installation failed and hung up, I stopped the installation with the Task Manager and rebooted the pc.  Following the instructions of blog users of Roxio, I did the following:

  1. selected disable all startup using MSCONFIG and restarted the pc applications.

  2 download and run the Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp.

  3 remove the partially installed Roxio files in the directory c:\Program Files x 86, then made an export of registry before editing the registry.

  4. under the leadership of the registry - deleted file folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Roxio and has attempted to delete the Wow6432Node folder from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder but encountered an error - didn't note it, unfortunately, but basically he said that he could not remove it when it has been changed, after waiting a while I tried to delete the folder Wow6432Node whe even once with the same answer, so I closed Regedit and restarted the pc.

  I got no error message.  I backed up the registry, but was not able to start the pc, so was not able to restore the registry.

  I couldn't restore last good configuration known - the option was not yet present.
