10.11.6 to early 2016 new macbook os update problem

Hello

I recently buy a new macbook 12 ". So far the only problem I have is upgrade to the latest OS. I click on update for it in the App store and it shows the time it takes to complete the update. When she is close to completing the update, it stops completely. I repeated the process a few days now. I keep my macbook restarted and update again, but the same thing happens. I tested on my macbook look older. I have a macbook air for two years. AppStore shows that the update as available and as I click on it. No problem at all. Managed to finish the update in 10 minutes or less and it restarts and the installation process occur as it supposed to be. So I don't know if it's the new macbook problem. Hope someone can help me on this issue. Or should I return or communicate directly with Apple? As he was buying a few days ago. Need help.

Thank you.

Hello luvang31,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

If I understand correctly, you are unable to update your new MacBook.  I have a suggestion that should help with this.

The first thing I would do, it's what is on the backup computer. Nothing that I will propose should result in no data loss, but it's always a good idea to have a backup.  Your computer has software called Time Machine.  It is a fantastic software for backing up your computer.  Information on how to use Time Machine is available here:

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.

Once you have the backup, the next step would be to start the computer is safe mode and install the update from there.

OS X El Capitan: start in safe mode

  1. Choose the Apple menu > shut down.
  2. After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.
  3. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.
  4. Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

Once in safe mode, you should be able to install the update and then restart normally.

Have a great day!

    As the title says.

Did you mean 128 GB of storage instead of memory, because it is very little, too little in my opinion.

  • After El Capitan on new Macbook Pro Mail problems

Mail doesn't work properly anymore now that I use a new mid-2015 MB Pro with El Capitan.  Non-Pourriel, including remittances from my own account to myself, is marked junk and put in the Junk folder. Mail that is not marked as spam is also put in the Junk folder. I can't find the rhyme or reason for the choice of the filter. I always install the latest updates on all of my devices. Can someone tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

There are two ways to designate as junk mail. One is based on the local 'training' that you used in the Mail application. These emails are marked in Brown, the other method is by e-mail based service provider on whatever rules or databases they use. These emails end up in the Junk folder, but are not marked in Brown.

The only way to deal with the second type is to open a session in the portal provider email, change your preferences or update the address book provider.

  • MacBook Pro update problem

    Hello

Recently, I improve my Mac Book Pro.

Afterwards, I had to raise WIndows, but was prompted to enter the serial number... finished

Now, I am attampting to access the results of the medical tests online that are presented in PDF format for my clients.  Send it in a kit of analysis and laboratory analysis.  I access the results via you logging on Diagnostics of Genova website and clicking on the results.  When I do, does not open the PDF of the test results, and instead, I get the following message:

    ADOBE PDF

Before continuing, you must first launch Adobe

Acrobat and accept the end user license agreement.

Question... How can I do this?

    Hi Jeff

Thank you for your response. I ended up working with a guy in India to solve the problem. Despite my origins EE, Im lost when it comes to software. Looks like everything works now. Cynthia

  • New MacBook Pro Release - 2016

I had a PC guy since I started to use computers and a few years ago I bought an iPad and iPhone. I always wanted to buy an Apple computer, but it was too expensive. Given the quality of Apple products, and how the OSX is good, I finally want to invest money to get the new macbook pro. I use Photoshop CC and time to other Illustrator and InDesign for the current model I've been watching is the:

13 "MacBook Pro retina display with i7 processor 3.1 GHz and 16 GB of RAM.

There are rumors that Apple will release the new MBP at the WWDC conference that leaves me with some questions.

    • If I wanted to get this laptop, it would be OK to use it as my computer only for we shall say 12 hours a day? I plan on a long term, so I would really upgrade for years 4 and 5.
    • If the new MBP range announced in the June 13-18, you think it's going to be available for sale end of June in the States (that's when I'll be there and it is definitely cheaper to buy there, only in Hungary). I hope just as they don't sell in September for example... I don't know how the previous models were announced and ready to buy for customers.
    • The new range will be about the same price as the current? With the above specifications, I wrote above, it comes out around $2000.

Thank you! I can't wait to be part of the Apple family.

    1. Of course - Mac would be nice looking, but they were made to be used!
    2. We do not know when will be released new computers or when they become available. The only people who know what is not allowed to speak.
    3. We are not allowed to speculate on the future computers here. All that I can say is that in the past when Apple launches a new system based on current designs (a MBP 2015 is updated a MBP 2016 model) prices remain substantially the same, or drop. When Apple makes a major design change is unclear what will happen.

Basically, the best that we can do is say welcome and buy the computer when you need it. Even if Apple launches a new model of 2 months after your purchase (as happened to my wife when she bought his MBP in 2015 early) you will have one of the best darn computers made.

  • New Macbook 2016 and Apple Display (Thunderbolt)

    Hello world

I bought the new Macbook 2016 and cannot connect to the Apple screen because there is no bolt of lightning to the HDMI adapter.

Anyone know of any other urgent solution?

    Thank you

  • New MacBook (12 ", towards 2015/2016) and MATLAB

    Hey everybody,

does anyone have experience with the new MacBook (2015/2016) and MATLAB?

I am currently using the MacBook Pro now after 6 years I want to something new, but I'm quite bad if I have to buy Air or the new one (1.3 GHz dual-core Intel Core m7, Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz, 8 GB memory SDRAM 1866 MHz LPDDR3, 512 GB PCIe-based embedded flash storage Intel HD Graphics 515).

I am a student of neuroscience so I use matlab x times per week as well as spss, otherwise its all the usual stuff (office, senseless surfing the internet, average of much netflix etc.). I will still use my Pro, with a new hard drive, but carrying 2kg of Mac around campus is horrible.

    I regret the new 12 '' MacBook?

    Thank you!

    See you soon

    Magda

I use the new Macbook and Igor Pro that is similar in the CPU usage and data processing capabilities. I also have a 15 inch MB Pro, which is a pain to lug around... you will be happy with the new Macbook and don't suffer from the "slower" processor if only using MATLAB.

One thing to keep in mind is that there are only two hearts, then if you don't have any parallel treatment (whether through Matlab or other calculations) they will be slower. If you do not I recommend the Macbook.

  • Release date: new Macbook Pro 2016

Is the release date of the new Macbook Pro (2016) announced yet?

And if so, when it will be released?

There was no announcement, and if you read the terms of use, these subjects are discouraged on these forums.  We do not know with certainty when Apple made such an announcement.

    Ciao.

  • Display error suddenly / default of new MacBook 2016 (cyan and magenta lines)

Someone had a similar problem with the macbook? Crazy jumping lines came out not where and remain even after a reboot. The error seems to be a hardware problem, because even at the splash screen has lines all over the screen. (See pictures attached)

(I think it's a problem with the display. If I take the screenshot image Lookes fine. Problem of Council/GPU so probably not main)

The macbook is new (not yet two weeks). No fall or similar... I am (as usual with new toys) treat it as a raw egg!

Of course, I can simply go to apple I guess and replace it with a new one (which would be unfortunate because I just finished the entire Setup with my programs and so)... But I'm just curious as to what the cause has been/is...

Update: got the macbook replaced without problem. Has been a bad connection to the screen. As a first step, the error disappeared, but a slight curvature of the screen (by Apple engineers leaves the default appears again.

He said that he has not seen this problem before, but I guess it can happen in rare occasions also to a new model of the plant.

  • Why a new MacBook have a load cycle count of 18

I just bought a brand new MacBook(early 2016) last week and immediately noticed that the number of cycle load was 18 years old. Is this normal or have I been given a return or a refurb? Thank you!

If you bought your Mac in an Apple Retail Store or an Apple authorized dealer, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Otherwise, I would do it.

You could ask the same question when buying a new car: "why this car show 15 miles (or 15 km) on the clock if it is new?

  • What do I have to pay 2 or 3 times for my new Macbook Air?

I just got a new Macbook Air 2016.  I works very well and I am very satisfied.  When my battery is at 15%, I start to think how long I have to charge for the first time charge. I know that the batteries are better than they were a few years ago.  How about a new?.  I also perform an Internet search to find an answer, but it seems that I can't find a reasonable answer.  Therefore, I posted this question and I hope you c

Just to charge once 100% will do so.

Do not load more than once because it is a new battery.

You can keep the computer in use.

Keep the computer plugged in whenever possible.

If you keep the computer always connected, make sure that at least twice a month

Run it on battery until battery charge level falls to about 40-50%.

Please don't completely discharge the battery. Discharge the battery completely will reduce wear and tear on the battery.

  • I can restore a new Macbook Pro with a 128 MB flash usung a drive backup time Machine 1 TB?

My Macbook Pro 2009 with a 1 TB drive is dead. I bought a new Macbook Pro 13 "early 2015 with 128 MB of memory Flash.

How can I use the 1 TB time machine backup restore the new MAC?

Yes, but most likely you can not restore everything and will need to be selective about what should be restored because very probably a full restoration would take more than 100 GB and you need a free storage space so that you can not fill up the drive

  • migration wizard creates 30 + accounts on new MacBook

If my girlfriend will attempt to transfer files from his old MacBook to a new MacBook Pro 2016 and the migration of expenses assistant profiles with strange as anti-school names created, etc... This really freaked out because she feared a virus had been transferred (his old MacBook was being very slow and that she would get pop up ads by going to shopping sites previously). We thought that it may just be old profiles of before, it has the MacBook, but there isn't so well we contest it. Anyone had the same experience or can provide information?

Download and run EtreCheck, created by one of his own assistants here in CSA. It is a diagnostic tool that is very useful for us to find problems. It will also give us additional specifications on your Mac. After his execution after the logfile here. It will never contain any personal information.

  • -new macbook - Migration Assistant that I need to know?

Hi - I would value some experience of the community - please

I have a MacAir 2011 and want to update now for a new MacBook.

I've not being updated earlier too concerned about the possible loss & migration setting, applications or features etc after the update.

Can someone with experience anything that I need to be aware share?

    As...

1 / the Migration Wizard transfers all? -such as the computer name and all settings, configurations, power setting, passwords etc. & Apps?

(for example - after migration - my new macbook would be "exact" copy and behave exactly like my old mac - (all keyboard shortcuts / icons / tool bars etc - everything is the place I want))

2 / What about applications such as Onedrive / Office365 / Dropbox - they won't work (i.e. I will have sync problems - with duplicated computer)

3 / What about APPS - where they are allowed - as Abobe / MSOffice etc - are these transfer & all work - how s/w license does it move? (or is the migration take care of that - and delete old laptop)

I look forward to any advice,

    Thanks-/ t

  • Cursor disappears and the Trackpad unresponsive liked - NEW MacBook Pro!

My MacBook Pro is now a little less than two weeks. In the first days of its use, the slider disappeared and the trackpad was totally insensitive.  The only way to make it work again was to turn it off because he has not answered either keyboard commands. I called the support, which I must say were not very useful, a left me frustrated. The first person I talked to seemed very green - not a vote of confidence!

Fast forward about 8 days later.  Exactly the same thing. Support and through his statement, tried to start in safe mode, but no go. He went immediately from the Apple to the login page.  On top of that, the person was very rude.  It has been long since I have dealt with the Apple support, and these experiences were very different from I remember.  I will communicate the headquarters to complain, but for now, my question is what to do?  This is a NEW computer, so in my opinion, probably this should not happen at all, but I wonder if this is a common problem, and if there is a fix!

My old MacBook Pro got too draggy and the processor was too outdated to handle any innovation that occurred in the last seven years, but boy, I loved this computer!  I have to deal with this issue, of course - setting or Exchange it as a failure - but in general, the new MacBook Pro suck?

Ah, I just saw that the product is 'start 2015' - quite interesting, because I bought it more than a quarter of the way in 2016!  I am really annoyed and disappointed by Apple.
