10 blackBerry Simulator - Audio

Hello

I have a problem with audio playback on Simulator 10.1. As I understand it, there are a few known issues with older versions in this regard. I went if many forums and I couldn't find the answer. My VMware player supports the audio and it automatically found sound card-> if there is an incoming call, I can hear sound. If Im trying to play any mp3 file, I got a unsupported_media_type error.

Can someone give me a definitive answer, it is possible to work with the audio or better audio streams via Simulator 10?

Any response is welcome

Sincerely

P.S. Sorry, I probably posted it in the wrong place

Hi @kapral,

Unfortunately, the multimedia playback support is very limited on the Simulator; some audio codecs are taken in charge but nothing related to the video. This is due to problems of license for codecs. MP3 should be well supported.

This is the list I have at the moment (maybe a little outdated; pending internal confirmation now) for codecs supported on the Simulator:

Audio: 3GP, AAC, MIDI, MP3, Ogg Vorbis and wav files

Video: no

If you still cannot play MP3 perhaps you can try with some of these others?

See you soon,.

  • Eclipse fails to package the project every other time I try to run BlackBerry Simulator

    I have a simple project that I've set up using the SDK 7.1 BlackBerry, it has no external dependencies.

    Almost without fail, every other time I hit him "run on BlackBerry Simulator' I get an error similar to the following:

    Packaging project BlackBerryApplication

    No matter if I clean up project or own Simulator I still get the same error another each compilation. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this? If I type "run on a BlackBerry Simulator" right after the error, it works fine.

    I use the 9900 with Eclipse 3.7.2 and BlackBerry 7.1.0.10 SDK Simulator. The plug-in version is 2.0.0.201207181003.

    Thank you!

    EDIT: I should clarify that when I say that the cleanup project makes no difference, what I mean is that cleaning of the project once the means it compiles OK next time, but unless he is cleaned after the first compilation, again a second time the compilation will fail. If although the project before each compilation of cleaning could cause it to compile every time, this does not solve the problem that it is there always something left in an inconsistent state after a successful compilation.

    I have determined that the source of the problem was a bad setting in the project configuration that I did when I created the project, I added wrong file the project root to the source compilation path option on folders. The error in the line of rapc.exe is highlighted below

    Simon,

    Thank you for responding, I managed to get rid of the error by changing the level of compliance of the compiler... I didn't know there are two ways to define the path to build for a project (in the projects pane when you right click on the project) and the other for a global setting in the preferences window.

    I guess it's very obvious that I am still a beginner when it comes to Eclipse... lol

    Thanks again,

  • Debugging is not supported on the selected Blackberry Simulator

    I just installed the plug-in for Visual Studio. Installed simulators are Torch 9800 (v6.0.0.534), the Torch 9800 (v6.0.0.313), 9930 (v7.0.0.318), they all give me the same message. I have a simple HTML web page, set to debug, when you click on play, I get the message, "debugging is not supported on the selected Blackberry Simulator. Only the loading and the launch of WebWorks Applications currently available. Please select a different Simulator if you need.

    Any ideas?

    Adam

    I think that the debugger works with the simulators that have v5.0.x BONES.  All those you listed are 6.0 or more.

    Try a simulator to v5.0x.

    The visual studio plugin is removed in October I think.  The new test environment is the emulator of the ripple.

  • Eclipse console on screen blackberry Simulator

    I don't know why the eclipse console is displayed on the screen of the blackberry Simulator, someone knows how to remove it?

    The simulator of cleaning must restore it to its default state (and remove this line from the console).  To do this, click on the BlackBerry menu in Eclipse and select own Simulator.

  • How to debug a moped in the BlackBerry Simulator

    How can I debug my normal midlet application in BlackBerry's Eclipse Simulator? Is it still possible? I use Eclipse Pulsar and I installed BlackBerry JDE and BlackBerry Plugin for Eclipse.

    It is certainly possible to debug a MIDlet on the BlackBerry Simulator. But there's a catch. To debug a MIDlet here, you need the debug files. BlackBerry JDE or plugin Eclipse means that you would need your MIDlet as project BlackBerry first. You cannot debug just a JAD and JAR.

    Is your MIDlet project of BlackBerry? If this isn't the case, it will be very easy to make a BlackBerry project, throw your files it contains, select the MIDlet main class and debug away.

  • Unable to send an email with the BlackBerry Simulator

    I am trying to set up the BlackBerry Simulator so it can send and receive e-mails from my e-mail server (hosted). While I followed the recommendations in the various articles on how to use the ESS or configure MDS, I can't always send electronic messages of the Simulator.

    E-mail messages are retrieved successfully by the Simulator, however.

    I tried to use both the ESS as well as the various email configuration options under [Email] in the config rimpublic.property MDS file. Both produce the same error message (pasted below).

    I checked several times that the settings for SMTP and POP are properly typed. Interestingly, the following stack trace indicates failure of the SMTP connection on port 25, but this isn't the port number that I entered.

    I wonder if the simulation of e-mail is unable to work with ports other than 25 SMTP?

    I mainly use the ESS and MDS came it with the JDE 4.3 and 4.3 OS simulator 8330, although the 4.6 OS 9000 Simulator produces the same result.

    Any help on this would be much appreciated.

    Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a solution to this. It seems that port 25 is hardcoded in the SSE code and any value is entered in the form, it is port 25 is used.

    My guess is that probably the only way out it is either:

    (a) find an email provider that uses port 25. Unfortunately gmail and none of the other e-mail providers I use actually use port 25, or

    (b) to set up your own mail server that uses port 25.

  • BlackBerry Simulator on windows 7 x 64

    Does anyone know why the blackberry Simulator are not on a PC under Windows 7 64-bit?

    It is very annoying.

    Thank you very much.

    Unfortunately not, but you can stop it by killing the fledge.exe process in the Task Manager.

    May be worth looking at the plugin Eclipse newly released as the press release States 'ability to load instantly and immediately run a request modified during debugging without having to reset the Simulator or device' that can make this less of a problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones test web application through BlackBerry Simulator.

    Hello

    I have to test my web application on a blackberry Simulator. My first question is: if it is possible to test any web application using the Simulator or I can test only the rich applcations of BlackBerry?

    I do the following:

    1. I downloaded Black Berry Email and MDS services Simulator 4.1.2 and BlackBerry_Simulators_4.7.0.78_9500 - Vodafone.exe.

    2A started the MDS Simulator first, then the BB Simulator.

    But I am not able to connect to internet, BB Simulator. Am I missing a config in the MDS Simulator.

    Help, please. This is urgent. TIA.

    Hello

    Open the rimpublic.property file. The rimpublic.property file is located in the following locations: \Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Email and Simulators\MDS\config of MDS

    Then add these commands in the section [MANAGER HTTP], update the following:

    application.handler.http.proxyEnabled = true

    application.handler.http.proxyHost = hostname

    application.handler.http.proxyPort = hostport
    application.handler.http.proxyUser = username

    application.handler.http.proxyPass = password

    application.handler.http.proxyAutoConfig = true

    application.handler.http.proxyAutoConfigURL = http://URL_to_Your_Config_File

    application.handler.http.proxyAutoConfig.ScriptCacheTime = 0

    Save these changes and to make with your steps... that will succeed to open a web application on your Simulator... more can know which web application (i.e. URL) that you want to test... I had the same problem, but somehow managed to open sites to Simulator after adding these commands. But my main concern is to open a URL in sector public siebel that is installed on a server in 9530 Simulator device. Can you/only you know which deals with the implementation of CRM siebel on simulators could you please suggest me doing this task.

    Thanks in advance

  • Mail to a Blackberry Simulator

    I read the article in the development guide regarding the adjustment to the top of the ESS simulator but I get no emails sent to my sim 9520.

    I have a machine virtual windows 2003 server with Office 2007. I have configured Outlook with an account administrator and enamel [email protected]. POP & SMTP servers are set to the IP address 127.0.0.1.

    It works fine to send emails via Outlook. I started ESS and entered incoming & outgoing hostnames like 127.0.0.1 and user administrator, e-mail & password in Outlook. Then I start ESS and send an email from Outlook. The email is sent and received by Outlook, but nothing strikes my Blackberry sim. Where I'm going wrong?

  • Blackberry Simulator user agent is not Unique?

    I'm having a lot of trouble to customize the style sheets for Blackberry devices because I do not have before me, physically.

    When I run the Simulator BlackberryOS (using VMWare Fusion in OSX 10.9 emulation) and run a detective to a WebKit browser, I get this as the useragent:

    navigator.userAgent"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.35 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/26.0.1410.64 Safari/537.35"

    That does not seem that this would be the same string that a physical Blackberry smart phone would be out... right? Below (Javascript) code that I use for devices Blackberry target.

             var ua = navigator.userAgent;
               if (ua.match(/(BlackBerry|Blackberry|blackberry|BB|bb|RIM|rim|Playbook|PlayBook|playbook)/)!=null) {
                    document.write('');
                    console.log ('Blackberry confirmed');
                }

    He looks at something weird happens and the userAgent comes from somewhere else. I don't know how.

    The userAgent should be

    "Mozilla/5.0 (BB10; Touch) AppleWebKit/537.35+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.3.0.440 Mobile Safari/537.35+"

    which I pulled the Simulator 10.3 beta.

    If you need to match on the userAgent, add "BB10" to your list. I understand that you are probably working on software that cannot be changed easily, but if possible, I would recommend moving detection feature and no browser detection. This is one of the reasons why the userAgent changed with BB10 - it's because too many sites could detect a BlackBerry and offering users an experience tailored for phones from 7 years or more, when perceive it BB10 browser is unmatched for its performance and features HTML5.
