100% high CPU load and memory usage

Hi all

My company bought a new appliance IPS 4510 and after initial installation, I see that the CPU load and memory is 100%. The device is not in a production network. Is this normal or there is a hardware problem? Enjoy a Counselor about it.

Concerning

Christine

Hi Damien,.

It is actually normal behavior for an IPS sensor.

To measure the actual load of an IPS sensor, you will want to monitor the "percentage load treatment" of the analytical engine that processes all inspection processing for the sensor.

You can view these statistics by using the command 'display the scan statistics-engine '.

Also, the sensor running version 7.0000 E4 5,0000 E4 (or later version), you can check the load percentage value Inspection displayed by the command "Display inspection-load" in its place.

Hope that answers your query.

  • Question about the CPU load and memory...

Hello. I'm a South Korea network engineer.

I am facing a problem with the DMP 4400.

I made a web page to publish the DMP 4400, but she loading has been so slow.

I don't know why it slows down, but it may be because of the memory or cpu.

So, I need to check the CPU and the memory usage...

is there anyone know control order CPU and memory?

I searched documents and web site include Cisco, but I couldn't know.

    Jinsung salvation,

This should give you the amount of memory on the device:

It should I think give you the CPU:

  • BT stack file TosBTMng.Exe generates 100% of CPU load

I am also facing the problem that the Toshiba Bluetooth Manager (TosBtMng.exe) very often starts a loop and causes a 100% CPU load.

This has happened with older versions of the Toshiba Bluetooth stack and the current version (5.1.0.12).

The affected system is a Tecra S1, BT-Modul and Windows XP SP2.

BT battery installation went well and the laptop starts succesfull while BT is enabled. I also checked for hidden COM-Ports and other tips in this forum, without success.

Blocking seems to occur at different times. Sometimes just after are restarted, by clicking on the tray icon of BT with the right button of the mouse. Then the context menu is shown all too the white box, no entries. He can also try to connect to a device already associated. If I kill the process with the Task Manager, I can restart and he continues to work for a while.

As found in another thread here, I enabled the registration of the API of the Bluetooth Manager and found the following when connecting with the Nokia PC Suite for my mobile phone:

    Call the 00042519 21:55:05 [7208] (TosBtAPI / PCCSTBTP) BtCreateCOMM()-> BtCreateCOMM2()

A new COM port is created successfully (COM23) and a few seconds later the CPU of TosBtMng load goes up to 100%, but no API calls are made. And if you wait long enough the phone are connected and data can be transferred. However, very slowly.

Probably because of the high CPU load a next port COM (COM24) will be created some time later and this process is then repeated once again:

  • RT FIFO results in 100% of cpu load?

    Hello

I am trying to replace some RT-FIFO queues on a target of cRIO9074 (via LV2011), which should be fairly easy because the API is very similar for both:

This example VI works for sure: the lower loop puts an I32 in the FIFO every 100ms, the upper loop must wait before trying to read a new element of the "timeout" (the value 50ms) FIFO. For this example the upper loop should run (roughly) 2 - 3 times for each iteration of the lower loop because of 50ms timeout.

The problem I have is: it shows 100% cpu load and I don't understand why he says:

Where this example VI does not burn 100% cpu load? The RTFIFORead question just the current state of the FIFO?

Have you checked whether a time-out to > 100ms also creates 100% CPU load?

Please note that create the FIFO provides the configuration of reading and writing for the vote against blocking. See Help for more information.

  • script which gives the hostname with more CPU resources and memory available

    Hello

Anyone have a script which gives the hostname with more CPU resources and memory available in the cluster?

    Concerning

    Vickie

    Hello, VicMware-

You can get the host with the free CPU, or with the most free memory resources, using the following:

    ## get the host with the most free CPU cyclesGet-Cluster myCluster0 | Get-VMHost | Select-Object Name, @{n="CpuMhzFree"; e={$_.CpuTotalMhz - $_.CpuUsageMhz}} | Sort-Object -Property CpuMhzFree -Descending | Select -First 1

    ## get the host with the most free memoryGet-Cluster myCluster0 | Get-VMHost | Select-Object Name, @{n="MemGBFree"; e={$_.MemoryTotalGB - $_.MemoryUsageGB}} | Sort-Object -Property MemGBFree -Descending | Select -First 1

The first would have produced something like:

    Name CpuMhzFree
    ---- ----------
    myVMHost0 25384

And the latter didn't would be out:

    Name MemGBFree
    ---- ---------
    myVMHost4 122.323

.. .or each of these host computers are those with the most free memory/CPU cluster, respectively.  What to do the things for which you are looking?

Even on a system Windows freshly installed (from recovery DVDs), the system process (PID 4, NT Kernel & System) causes on a regular basis (every five minutes) a CPU load high for a few seconds, during which the system hangs, not even the mouse pointer can be moved.
Sysinternals Process Explorer identifies the thread of high load as "ntkrnlpa.exe! ExfTryAcquirePushLockShared + 0 x 15 2 "with the thread ID 20 or 24.

Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior or a solution to the problem?

If you have installed Windows recovery disk Toshiba but still high CPU usage? Hmm that's strange because this image is tested by Toshiba

Have you installed or uninstalled any software or tools?
I uninstall the current antivirus and disable some start up programs you n t need in msconfig. Usually, this should work.

In the diagnostics of tmspe can also see if the importation of the aircraft has a work «»

  • Too high on linux VM memory usage

We have a linux virtual machine that uses so the amount of memory.  It helps to be on a physical server with only a gig of memory, now it's on a virtual machine with 1.5 GB of memory and it is often the sending of alerts that the memory usage is of the order of 90 to 98%.  Maybe something was wrong when we converted to a physical process to a virtual machine?  It runs only Apache 2.0 so I don't think I need to increase the memory.  Everything that I can check, or perhaps something that should be done after the conversion of a physical to virtual machine?

  • Network - high CPU load problem

    Hello

I've updated the 2.6.24 kernel 2.6.26 (under Debian Lenny 64 bit) on the host computer. And I have a problem with the network communication.

I have 2 Virtual PC (Windows) on the host Linux (Debian 64 bit). Each virtual PC to fill only one network adapter.

I have VMware Server 2 for 64-bit, my PC has Intel Quad Core and ethernet card 4 on the card mother Gigabyte EP45-DQ6.

When virtual PC start communicate via network - load cpu in virtual card pc go to 40-50 percent, after the stop communicates on the NIC - cpu load to go from 1 to 4%.

CPU host increase load when virtual pc communicate too.

My linux use r8169 for ehernet adapter.

    What is the problem?

    Thank you for your response.

    Soory for my English.

Reduce the numer vCPU one per guest. If you have a multiprocessor/kernel HAL, you will need to change this, but give it a try without changing that, first of all.

  • Satellite A210 - 16G - problem of CPU frequency and memory

    Hey guys,.

    I had a problem with my laptop I can't solve, since I installed windows 7 RTM x 64 version.
I noticed something is wrong after finding that my Windows experience index has fallen to 2.7 instead of 4.5, I used to have on Vista. For those who do not know my characteristics are:
AMD Turion 64 X 2 TL-60, which I've got 2.7 of note, 4 GB Kingston DDR2-667 (333 MHz) - 4.4, scores of charts and hard drives are the same.

I read in one of the forums that it may be a problem with the standby power options, but he did not get any option that says on the frequency of the processor changing according to the plan of the power. I also installed new version 2.0 of the website of Toshiba BIOS, but it only makes things worse: I've got 6.0 rating graphics of games but the Perf of Aero desktop is now 1.0!

I installed diagnostic software: Everest and CPU - Z and I discovered that my CPU works with a frequency of 800 Mhz (the multiplier is 4 x, voltage 0.8V) and my DRAM frequency is 159.8 Mhz (I don't know if it's ok, but I know that 4.4 score is certainly too low although).

So tell me guys, is this a problem of the operating system? Should I try to install the 32-bit version of Windows 7, or it won't change anything? Maybe I should try some software that would change the frequency of my FSB?
I'm waiting for your answers, because I don't know what to do.

Aero needs a WDDM compatible graphics driver, then try to update the graphics driver on the Toshiba site

  • Reference Dell PowerConnect 2848 OID for CPU time and memory

    Hi all

This is my first post in this forum. I searched all the messages that can solve my problems, but I could not find so if there is already an existing post and I couldn't find it please guide me to it.

My case is. We have a few Dell PowerConnect 28xx switches in our network. We want to monitor things like the CPU, the temperature, the use of the RAM usage. We use Solarwinds IpMonitor monitoring tool. I downloaded the MIB, I could find the download of Firmware from Dell drivers and downloads page. I went through the entire MIB, but I couldn't find an OID for the foregoing.

So if anyone can help me please what OID is used for usage of CPU and RAM temperature it will really help me.

Please let us know in case we need more information on my side.

    Thank you

I have a FSX Acceleration. Whenever I run the FSX, the CPU always hit at least 60% (sometimes even at full load) on all 4 cores (I changed to use the 4 hearts somewhere in the config). For this reason, my CPU temp is around 70-95°C during my GPU temp is not 55°C. My question is, is there a way to reduce the CPU usage to 50% or less for the entire game? Is it possible to move the CPU to the GPU still load?

    Spec:

Processor - Intel Core i5-2500 running at default clock

    RAM - 8 GB

    Hard Drive-WD Blue 500 GB

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550Ti by Gigabyte

    Motherboard - GA-P75-D3

  • High CPU load on Oracle when executing select on TT

Hello. I have grid cache: 2 instances of global TT + Oracle with async dynamic writing group of cache on a single table with 1 million entries. Each instance of grid cache is located on its own host. I start the execution performance test only on instances of TT SELECT queries. Now, I see that the process Oracle starts consuming a lot of time CPU. According to the documentation (if I understand correctly) all db readings are performed between instances of TT. That fact Oracle when I run select TT? In case that we to scale horizontally by adding instances TT Oracle doesn't become a bottleneck?

    A few points:

1 data movement between grid mnodes requires that we update some informaiton in oracle (via the replication agent). Thi is probably what is causimng load you see you on Oracle.

    2. a load of work that creates a lot of data movement will not run and will not well. This isn't a good way to use the grid of the cache. You should 'soft partition' workload
so that the connections on a member of the grid work preferentially on a (mostly) disjoint subset of data compoared connctions to members of grid President.

    3. If you plan to work intensively with grid you hould reallly use the latest major version (11.2.2) not old enough now 11.2.1. There has been many improvements,
    bug fixes etc since 11.2.1.8.0.

  • Portege Z930 - process 'System': high CPU when on battery usage

    I have a Portege Z930.
A process called 'System' will appear in the Task Manager when I unplug the PC from the AC.

I would like to know why is - this high utilization of the processor (from 9% to 18%) and keep my time above 70 ° c.
It is very annoying, not only because of the temperature that hits the PC itself, but also because of the battery, which can not go over 1 hour and 30 minutes because of this process.

It is not a virus, already CHECKED, don't ask.
In addition, I don't know when it started, or why, so please don't ask.

    Thanks in advance,
    Nicolas.

Until we start the discussion can you please tell us if you use the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop and use Toshiba eco mode when the laptop is running on battery power?
