12.3.3 constantly check iTunes Library, iPod wrecks

12.3.3 constantly checks the iTunes library and does not open. In addition, it destroys my 160 GB iPod which now tells me that there is no music on board. An attempt to first aid utility disk on the pod says that the iPod is OK, simply nothing about this.

Also, iTunes refuses to quit or force quit. It just sits there in the Dock.

I decided to upgrade to 10.11.4 after what the dialog box 'check' iTunes library remained on a good 10 minutes, but finally he opened iTunes. Maybe I hadn't waited long enough the previous time at 10.11.3. I have however disable Little Snitch. If it had an effect or not, I can't say.

My iPod has been seen and loaded on iTunes, but I wasn't able to restore such settings as recommended by a dialog box.

I tried again.

And once again.

ITunes has finally managed to download the iPod software and to restore the iPod. I am trying to load my 12 k or more tunes.

I don't know if everything that I solved the problem, but it can be useful lead and maybe this will help someone else.

  • IPod Classic does not recognize Itunes library after updating 12.4.1.6

After (sigh, unconsciously and unintentionally) update my Itunes 12.4.1.6 Macbook Pro, my Ipod Classic is as it does not recognize the Itunes Macbook is the parent library. I made a few additions to the Macbook Itunes playlists, but my Ipod sync... at least do not unintentionally erase all currents (gulp, 157 GB of data) and re-import the entire library again. Is there a way to get around this? I did have this problem - at least I don't remember having it-advance updates to Itunes, where the Ipod no longer recognizes the Itunes Macbook as his home library. I ran a "check disk" on the Macbook and Ipod, and they are both clean, no sign of corruption. FWIW, I use the laptop on Mavericks, OSX 10.9.5.

  • ITunes library don't sync all the library on my iPod Classic 5th

Hi all. My iTunes library is not synchronized all the library on my iPod Classic 5th. The library contains 8136 songs, iPod displays only 8120 songs after synchronization.

I hope you can help me.

    Thank you.

Some items in your library iTunes music are not in fact the songs.  For example, some albums that buy you on the iTunes Store come with a "booklet".   This isn't a song, so it does not sync to the iPod.  In addition, your library iTunes music can have music videos.  Depending on your synchronization settings (and your iPod model), music videos may not sync.  So, if you use the number of 'elements' displayed at the bottom of the iTunes window to compare, is not necessarily equal to the number of songs on the iPod.

Songs must be stored locally on your disk to synchronize with your iPod.  It is possible for songs purchased from the iTunes Store will appear in your library iTunes music from Apple servers ("iCloud"), even if you do not subscribe to Match iTunes or Apple's music.  To check, show your iTunes music library using the view of songs , the show as a list of simple songs with columns.  Bring up the column to iCloud download , if currently hidden.  This column is narrow with a cloud symbol as his Cape.  (Right-click on the header row in the list of songs to show/hide columns.)  Songs that are not stored locally have a symbol of the cloud with the down arrow in the column download iCloud .  These songs are visible of the iCloudand does not sync to the iPod (except if downloaded).

If you subscribe to Apple music, download music from Apple (in your iTunes library) are written (not possessed) songs.  Downloads of music Apple cannot be used with iPod (except iPod touch).

Also, look on the recapitulation of the iPod settings screen in iTunes to see if the sync only checked songs [and videos] option is checked.  If this is the case, the songs that are disabled in your music library iTunes do not sync.

  • IPod Classic (and iTunes library) from Windows to Mac

Hey ppl, can someone help me with this one?
My iPod Classic was initially connected to a PC, because I didn't have a Mac at the time. But I an and for a long time, and now I'm about to get a second.
I was put in place with the PC mostly because my iTunes library has nearly 500 stored cd and I use my iMac only for work, I didn't want to fill his 500 GB drive with iTunes library. But now that I'm about to take my work to a new Mac, I thought that it was time to move my iTunes library to Mac, and I did it with the help of an external hard drive.

Now, everything is ok with iTunes on Mac all the CDs and the works of art and library moved nicely.

But when I connected the iPod it syncs ok, but does not receive a new cd that I just uploaded on the Mac.

I have noticed that an already existing CD which I modified the work on the Mac, sync ok for the iPod, but not the new CD. The CD is an original, not a copy.
I think it has to do with the iPod having been registered to another computer. I allow them the Mac, but still the CD is not transferred to the iPod.
I want to get rid of my PC, but I need the iPod to work with the Mac.
Can someone tell me what I'm missing, or doing wrong?
    Thank you

I had checked the discussions over and over again before posting the question and do not find an answer, and now after posting the question, I found what solved my problem - iPod sync fine with the Mac. (to goodbye PC)

OK, that's fine.  So, just what is currently on the iPod is already in your new library iTunes, correct?

When you start with a new iTunes library and add your existing content, the iPod sees it as a new iTunes library, not the old one that was previously used to synchronize the iPod.  The partners from iPod to your new iTunes library and the Tower WE Auto Sync, follow these steps...

Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to display the parameters of the iPod in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Settings of music from the iPod screen is shown at right.

NOTE: All iPod songs that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Check the box to Sync music.  This turns ON Auto Sync (and associate the iPod to your new iTunes library).  If your library complete iTunes music can fit on iPod, choose the option to synchronize the entire music library.  Click apply.

On a separate note, since you started with a new iTunes library, you have added all your content to your backup, but you probably do not have the additional data (such as playlists, ratings, play head, date added, etc.).  Depending on how you have saved your iTunes data, it may be possible to restore your full (not only your media) iTunes library.  You need to be good with the help of your new iTunes library, but if you want more information, thanks for posting back. »

    So thanks Kenichi Watanabe

  • How can I copy my old library a Shuffle and a 5 Ipod to my new Itunes library?

I have an Ipod and a shuffle that are very old I want to load the library of music on them on my new nano but I can't understand the new itunes and how to put music from my old appliances in my library. Any help out there?

By design, iTunes syncing is generally in one direction, from the iTunes library on your computer to the iPod.  You cannot transfer files from song from iPod to computer (via iTunes), with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes Store (because iTunes can check the property).  However, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something as 'ipod transfer music', you should get a few useful links, including a CNET article on the subject.

Once your music files on your disk, add them to your iTunes library.  After the confirmation that all your songs are there, you can synchronize your iPod as you wish.

  • used to sync my iPod to my iTunes library

Hello.  I have an iPod of the old school of 2006 (Version 1.3?) that will not sync my iTunes.  The MacBook that I try to do it on is pretty old too (2009), but there El Capitan Version 10.11.2 installed on it, and my iTunes is up to date, too.  The iPod is recognized by the computer and iTunes, but when I click on the "Sync" button in the section of iTunes iPod my iPod is plugged it just flashes "Sync iPod" very briefly and then comes back to do what he was doing before (absolutely nothing).  I've ejected my iPod and looked at what is on it after what has happened, and there is no new music in this regard.

Please tell me what I can do to solve this problem.  I tried looking for other forum posts to this topic, but I can't find anything that helped me to solve this problem.  I also don't have a USB cable for brand Mac more, but I never had problems with that that I am using until tonight when I tried to sync my iPod.  Maybe it's the first time I tried to sync my iPod since download El Capitan, so maybe that has something to do with it (as a problem of compatibility or something)?  Thank you.

It should work.  Even my old 3rd Gen iPod in 2003 still works fine with the latest OS X and iTunes.  Since the iPod appears in iTunes, docking Cable probably OK also.

The most likely reason for the synchronization of not is that music from the iPod settings screen is not defined.  So, when you click sync, nothing syncs.  Select the iPod in iTunes (click on iPod the device button on the horizontal bar) to see the setting of the iPod screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  To the right, you will see a settings screen of the iPod music , where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.

NOTE: All of the songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library (on computer) will be lost.

At the top of the window, check the box to Sync music.  This enables auto-sync to the music.  Below, if your music library is on the iPod, choose the option synchronize entire music library.  At the bottom, click apply.  Further, iTunes syncs any changes in your music library on iPod automatically, when you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected).  If your music library does not fit on the iPod, you can choose the option to synchronize playlists, artists, albums, and genres; Make your choice from the lists below.

I have an iPod with lots of songs.  I have an iMac with very few songs.  Want to take a few songs from iPod and put in iMac.  Why is - complete this impossible without a sync?

iTunes sync is a way for iTunes to the iOS device. It is not designed for the synchronization of the device in iTunes. You will need to do this, use a 3rd party utility. See this user CSA advanced for more information. Recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device

  • I recently bought a new computer. I don't have no transfer my itunes library (or save) and eventually remove my entire itunes on my ipod library. I was able to recover my purchased music, but is there a way to retrieve the CD I downloaded too?

I recently bought a new computer. I didn't have to transfer my itunes library or return it high and ended up to the top of the deletion of my library on my ipod. I was able to recover the purchased music, but is it possible to recover the music burned to a CD?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not that a transfer backup device and media has been planned with you keep a master copy of your media on a computer that is in itself independently supported against loss.  To use a device with a different configuration, you pass the old library from a computer or a backup directly in the new configuration, not the device to the library. Synchronization of media isn't a way, computer to the device, update the contents of the device to the content on the computer, update or restore the content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases that can be transferred to a computer.

Redownload or transfer your iTunes Store purchases an iPhone, iPad or iPod to computer - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201267 - 'this feature only works for content purchased from the iTunes Store. From iOS9 is more apps that now need to be re-downloaded directly from the store.

To transfer other items from an i-device to a computer, you will need to use third-party commercial software.  See this document in turingtest2: recover your iTunes library from your iPod or device iOS - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991 even this method can fully recover what you originally had in the library. For example, in order to save space during synchronization if you had converted music files at a lower rate, or photos at a lower resolution, it is these lower quality files that will pick you up.

If you subscribe to the Apple music, titles that are not part of the content that you have purchased or downloaded may not be transferred and must be downloaded directly from iCloud.

The iPad does not have a SIM card. Most are wifi only.  The USB jack on the side of a machine very likely does not provide enough current to recharge an iPad. Use the power supply provided 2.1 watts (if you have one - if it isn't get a).

  • Try to sync the music from iPod to iTunes library

I had to put a new hard drive in my computer, I so had to reinstall iTunes and basically start from scratch.  I have 757 songs on my iPod that I'm moving to my iTunes library so I can play the songs in iTunes.  What's weird, it's iTunes recognizes my iPod and shows the 757 songs with the title "On My Device", but it does not show the songs in the 'My music' library, which is the way I put it in place previously until I changed the hard drive.  I tried to hit the sync button, who has always worked in the past, and nothing happens.

Does anyone have advice on how I could do this?  I've been playing with it for 3 hours trying to figure it out, and I'm so frustrated.

Just for reference, I use an old school 2nd generation 8 GB iPod Touch, iOS 4.2.1
