• Missing contextual & Menu of the Panel - update library item.

  Hello

  I have a small, but frustrating problem.

  When you are working in InDesign CS5, I want to update my library items.

  As shown in the picture below I lack my 'update library element'.

  

  I went through Edit-> Menus and done so that the Menu item is visible, but alas no luck.

  

  I can change the currently visible items, like adding a color to their option of menu etc, but no matter what I can not do the Update menu library item option to show.

  The following was also tested.

  After all: default of InDesign (modified) for InDesign Defaults.

  This prompted me to save one I've used before as a new set of menu.

  I have restarted InDesign for each change atempted, restarted the computer after that some of the changes made.

  Googling this issue doesn't give me much more information, seems stuck on the "Update" search options and returns some information example, unrelated to my question.

  My software:

  Mac OS X 10.8.x

  Adobe InDesign CS5

  I'll start at the beginning:

  I did a book with Adobe InDesign and do a version of the iBook.

  There seemed to be two ways to do this:

  1. Convert the existing document using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (regardless of the load).
  2. Make the document (I have all the bits and am registered) with iBook Apple author.

  Before you start on the road to Adobe, I thought I'd have a look at some publications made to use it.

  Adobe has made available a document that shows what can be done with their Digital Publishing Suite (AdobeDPS_Resource_Guide.pdf).

  This document contains links to digital publications for the iPad and iPhone. I downloaded some to take a peek.

  When I tried to open these documents, some within applications (for example "DPS advice") and other in the booth space (such as "i - mad: Madame Figaro every angle French"), I found that I could not open any of them, my iPad or on my iPhone. I got was the modal error dialog "cannot update library, an error has occurred, OK» Frankly, this is not 'OK' at all. Unsurprisinglly, I couldn't get any sense out of iTunes support, just usual merry-go-round of responsibility.

  Well, I am based in China. Maybe it's the root of the problem. Yet two WiFi connections I use here seem to work perfectly well (for web browsing, Skype etc.). Or maybe it's something completely different. I would really like to go to the bottom of this, because it seems to mean that I convert my my existing InDesign document, using the Adobe add-in, maybe no one could not read. But is this a problem Adobe?

  Any suggestions gratefully received.

• Lost the ability to update library items in InDesign CS3

  I created several libraries in InDesign CS3.  I've always been able to update library items by clicking on the item to be updated, then right-click on the item in the library, it would provide a choice to "update the library item. Since yesterday, this option was not available.  I can't imagine all that I've done that would have made this disappearance of choice.  Any ideas on how to find this option?

  The menu item is now "InDesign > Manage Extensions...". "I spent 20 minutes trying to locate"configure plugins"before I realized that.

• Photos not updating library iCloud

  I have just been on holiday and took nearly 400 photos on my iPhone or DSLR.  All my devices (iPhone, iPad, and Mac) are all synchronized with iCloud and my library of Photos.

  I created an album with my iPhone and started adding photos in the folder as and when they were taken.  I used a Flash to SD card adapter for my DSLR photos on my iPhone, they could be uploaded to iCloud.  Every night, while wifi, I made sure that my photos have been uploaded.

  Since the return to the House, my iPad is all date and each photo is displayed however when I opened the Photos on my Mac, it just said "Update" at the bottom and does not change.  I left for a few hours and it remains the same.  I used the activity monitor to see if all the data being downloaded and nothing is downloaded to or yet there internet connection while I'm writing this at the same time.

  I know that the photos are on iCloud my works of iPad, I just to think photo needs a little kick to set in motion...

  Any ideas?

  Have you checked if all the photos are on iCloud - compare photos on your iPad to the library directly in iCloud to www.icloud.com. Maybe your iPhone / iPad still download and the Mac is waiting for them at the end.

  Besides the activity monitor, open a Console window.  Type 'photo' in the search field. In this way, you can see if there is no activity from the cloudphotosd process or the process photomodel.

  

  Is there a visible activity in the Console?

• iPhoto Library went from El Capitan

  I have the new Photos app updated to El Capitan.  Works well with streaming of my devices.  However, my library iPhoto everything has disappeared.  I had to get a new hard drive but had backed up with Time Machine to my WD My Book.  We spent all the time on the Apple store transfer My Book to the new hard drive on the Mac Mini.  I also have a new backup drive hard as the MyBook was quite old and almost full.  I'm going home and iphoto app is there but not photos.  Can I reconnect the MyBook and try to move on the Mini hard drive again?

  Unless you put the iPhoto library in a different location on the old Mac, it should be in your Home/Pictures folder.  Have you looked into this folder to the library. Try to restore the library of Time Machine as follows:

  

  Once it's restoration, you can open it with the new photo app and migrate to the pictures if that's what you want to do.

  

• Media Player Windows 7 constantly updated library

  It updates every time I open it. It takes 20 minutes to do it, even if I made any changes. It tops out at my cpu other slow processes. Does anyone else have this problem?

  1. check the settings of the library in windows media player. Steps to follow:

  i. open Windows media player

  II. click on organize

  III. Select Options, select the Library tab

  IV. in the title of the newsletters of automatic support for files

  v. Select only adds the missing information

  2. If the previous step does not work, uninstall windows media player and install it back

  i. Click Start, in the search box type in turn windows features turn on or off

  II. search for Windows media player

  III. clear the check box and restart the computer.

  IV. follow the same procedure to install it back

  v. and check Windows media player.

• Update library items inserts extraneous HTML

  Hi all

  I have been using library items to store snippets of code that are shared between several models in my site.  This works well for the update of the things that are shared between several models, such as footers or Google Analytics code.

  However, every time I make a change to one of the various elements of library, DW (I use CS5) inserts wrong code in all models using the element.

  For example, if I have a library containing item:

  and I put it in the place indicated on the following page:

  < tr > < /tr >

  So instead of getting:

  So basically DW is closing and reopening my table tag instead of simply to insert a new row in an existing table.  Of course, it's horrible to have to fix whenever I have it change a library, because it defeats the purpose of having a library at all - I still have to go edit each model to fix the munged code.

  Anyone has an idea why it is doing this?  I saw a similar previous post, which alludes to the fact that the code inside the library item which does not belong inside the enclosing tag, but I don't see anything inside my library items that DW could be considered as not valid inside a table - they all begin and end with < tr > and < /tr > respectively.

  You won't like the answer.  DW like to see code that can be used alone in the library items.  You can tell from the resulting code that it is trying hard to fix what he sees as an invalid code.  In other words, it will not work in a library item-

  If you really want to use fragments of code, then consider changing server-side includes instead of library items.  They are really much more flexible and easy to use.

  I previously downloaded update and after that restart is gone to check updates more, browser has sent me to a page with a link to Mac update on Microsoft.com said I was using mac os software! Running XP Pro SP3. Also reset by default checked registry update, it has the right url value, deleted history, Cookies ect? Still no luck.

  If you are referring to KB2633880, KB2572073 and KB251884, there was a known problem, install these updates. This problem has been resolved on 5/23. If you do not already have it, reinstall updates.

  Please make sure your image is in RGB color space 8 or 16-bit (no not 32-bit). You can see in Image > Mode >

  For example, a 32-bit image will be blurry lens and lens correction is gray, and the blue chip Gallery of filters and many others.

  If I understand right now, I need to use vihostupdate (from vsphere CLI) or esxupdate (running in a terminal on the server) to install the new updates/patches on the ESXi 4.1 server.

  The "Host Update Utility" would also find new patches online, this is not possible with vihostupdate or esxupdate? and if no, then how and where can I download new patches/updates?

• Update library items are slowing down for great site

  I'm working on a large site (several thousands of static pages). A large part of it is old and was created and edited in BBedit. We have now several "subsites" that were created by a provider using templates and library items in Dreamweaver. These subsites are the root of the main site and the folder templates exist at the same level as the root of the subsites. Not very clear? Here is an example.
  
  HTML is the root of our entire domain and is the site which I've set in Dreamweaver
  / html/templates/contain all models for all subsites
  / html/ukaliq/is 'root' for one of the sections
  
  Here's my problem. When we want to change a model or a library item, its usually not site wide. It generally refers to one of the sections, but Dreamweaver wants to check the entire site for cases where this template or library element is used. It takes an unbearably long time. I know that it is used only in the folder "ukaliq" but I can't tell Dreamweaver to only check this folder. I can? I tried to create a new site for each of the sections, but since they are not really subsites, it creates problems. These are: templates do not appear as part of the site (they have a higher level) and the subsite is really just one distinct and different from the main site. It cannot exist without links and the content of the main site. The root is not really root.
