  • ITunes will not launch in Windows XP

ITunes does not open.  Uninstalled and reinstalled several times and still does not.  Using Windows Security Essentials on Windows XP, use is not Windows 7.  Has gone through all the steps to the Apple Support and uninstalled all the programs of suporting.  Help, please!

    Hi MSNtm,

-You receive an error message trying to launch the Itunes application?

I recommend you to temporarily disable the security software and check if that helps you.

Temporarily disable the anti-virus software and disable the firewall and see if the problem still occurs.

If the problem is resolved, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the program for the settings that can be changed or if there are other updates for this program.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. Have a computer without any security software can cause a potential danger to your computer. The firewall can keep the computer worm, pirates, etc.. So, be sure to activate security/firewall software once you are finished with the test.

After that, check if you can run the application successfully.

  • iTunes will not install in Windows 7

iTunes goes without installation under Windows 7

    Dear Marilyn:

Apple article you mention has not worked for me.  What works was initially open an additional account on my Windows 7 computer, different from the single user account (with administrator privileges).  Also the new account has administrator rights and iTunes + QuickTime installed smoothly.

Reasoning that Windows 7 was installed an update on Windows Vista, which in turn has also installed an upgrade on Windows XP, it was decided that the original user account and possibly Windows 7 have been somewhat corrupted, a new installation was completed and new iTunes + QuickTime installed smoothly, which confirmed my suspicions.

This clean reinstall was pretty easy for me because my documents and data are stored on a separate hard drive and Windows 7 and MS Office 2007 as well as a few other programs were to be installed again.  This policy of mine dating back a dozen years ago saved my data in last May when Norton Antivirus could not stop a virus that filled the unwanted operations (C:\) disc, making it unusable, but could not touch disk D:\ and E:\ where I keep the documents and the videos of music/respectively.  I now use Kaspersky Antivirus, which stopped a malware that Norton had missed and contaminated by the new C:\ drive I had to buy and install.

    Thanks for your concern,

    Manfor

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, and then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

  • What to do or how to fix my laptop which will not load to windows/microsoft?

I get out the battery but it is not the problem. And I continue to turn on and off and when it lights up regularly, it loads but then it gets to the part where I sign my account and it's just a white screen. How can I fix it? And how can I remedy this?

    Hi MkfWm

    1. What is the brand and model of the laptop?

I suggest you to install the latest updates to the BIOS and the chipset drivers from the system manufacturer site and check if these help.

You can also contact the system manufacturer for assistance on the issue.

    I hope this helps.

  • iTunes will not install on Windows Vista

I couldn't get Itunes to upgrade to the 9.0.3 version which is on the site of Apple - and which is compatible with my iPod and iPhone.  I went through all the troubleshooting tips website from Apple and even they contacted 4 times.  Nothing seemed to work.  It is now uninstalled from my computer (with Quicktime).  I downloaded the latest version on my desk (actually about 5 times!), but when I click on it an error message comes up saying: open file security warning.  The Publisher could not be verified.  The file doesn't have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher.  Are you sure you want to run this software?

When I click "Run", nothing happens.  I tried to run it as an administrator, and the same thing happens.

    I would appreciate help!

    Hi TFloor,

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Turn off User Account Control and then try to install ITunes.

    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking user accounts and family safety, then clicking on user accounts.

    2. click on Turn User Account Control on or off.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3 uncheck use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer to turn off UAC, and then click OK.

Note: It is not recommended to turn off UAC, we just try to limit the problem, please turn on UAC after installing iTunes on the computer. See the link below for the procedure:

Enable or disable the User Account Control

    Hello

Uninstall everything according to the instructions from Apple:

«Remove and reinstall iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7»

    http://support.Apple.com/kb/HT1923

It is also the same list of what to remove what is in the link above from Apple:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/MSVCR80-DLL-not-found-missing-error.htm

Or try this program to remove it:

    http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Then, download and save the iTunes on the desktop > then right click > select run as administrator to install.

If the advice already given does not, please contact Apple for assistance.

  • MGI photosuite will not load on windows 7

used this program with windows xp, no problem at all.

    Hello bronxboy52,

Not all programs that worked on Windows XP will run in Windows Vista or Windows 7.
I suggest you try the compatibility mode to see if it helps.

If the program is not compatible, then you try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

    Use the following steps:

    (1) right click on the program

    2) click Properties

    3) click on the Compatibility tab

    (4) select run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or other operating system, the program has been run successfully.

Check out the link here: make sure to run older programs in this version of Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If compatibility is not successful, then try and self-test program compatibility issues:

    1. open the program compatibility problems theStart button.

Then click on Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting tool, then clickTroubleshooting. Under programs, clickRun done for previous versions of Windows.

    2. follow the instructions in the troubleshooting.

If you are unable to install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the Troubleshoot utility, navigate to the program setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. This utility is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

If you are running Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and run your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware (www.vmware.com) Player and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose. You can find the virtualization software free that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.

    I hope this helps.

    Marilyn
