15 - a003sa from Compaq: compaq 15-a003sa

Hello

I have a compaq 15-a003sa lappy, that has a motherboard model: hewlett packard 2190, processor: intel celeron 2810 n.

I found slow, so I want to change my processor, but I could not find information about the processors supported on this motherboard.

Can someone help me with this info?

Yes. Happy to help but not sure you will be satisfied with the answer. Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

Look at page 4. You have a model in Trail Bay which is a new type of low power processor family, which is the successor of the atom for netbooks a few years back. They use little energy and can be cooled passively. No need for a fan. They also tend to have less processing power, even though they are not nearly as wimpy as the atoms are.

But also look at pages 28-29. There are many different motherboards (system boards) because each of them includes the processor. This means that the CPU is soldered to the. In practical terms, the only way to upgrade is to replace the card of the entire system. This seems ok until you start at this price. A card system origin of chains of parts will cost about new half to 80% of the cost of the laptop because of the economy of different distribution. Motherboards Pentium Bay Trail model like the N3520 to 2.4 ghz would be a big improvement on the Celeron, but that is not much say. It still wouldn't be a portable quick even with this upgrade.

Check that the disc does not have OEM on it, and you have a bet to level or retail key to go with it.

You should be able to run the install from Windows 98. If this is not possible your computer does not support boot from CD, you may need to run the install with a floppy disk.

  • Compaq Presario SR5506F: update BIOS of BACK command line?

    Hello

I would like to be able to Flash the BIOS to the boot prompt, or with a USB/CD/DVD based tool. I can't open any OS even from live DVD.

My Presario SR5507F came originally with Vista installed, but over the years, it has been upgraded to Windows 8.1. He gave us many years of reliable service, but sometimes the last fall the PC began to experience some powerdowns and seemingly random reboots.

Things get pregressively worse until the PC was unusable. He would go for 15 or 20 minutes and then restart. The trouble began shortly after a Windows Update, so I thought it was a problem of update patch or driver. I tried return that a withdrawal patches nothing helps. I also tried to install Ubuntu and Fedora, but they have the same problems. Fedora is worse than Ubuntu, however. I tried to reinstall Windows 8.1, then 7, and finally the original Vista operating system 32-bit, but all the Windows installations fail at some point during the installation drivers. The computer passes just a restart endless cycle and cannot install Windows.

I performed memory tests, but they all go and I use a text based operating system, such as BACK.

I tried to reflash the BIOS, thinking he was damaged in one of the restarts, but since I can't install any version of Windows, the BIOS flash tools refuse to work. I need to be able to Flash the BIOS from the prompt at startup or DOS command. Is there such a tool from Compaq/HP?

    Thank you!

  • Compaq Presario C303NR XP drivers

I saw question to find the xp drivers this laptop.   I went for the driver of HP/compaq Downloads Site but the drivers, it does not appear to install correctly.  I had to go out to intel web together to get the Chipset drivers and graphics.  For the Wireless driver, I had to get that driver Guide Audio driver seems to install and that's it.  It helps driver HP can't find driver updates needed.  So after I get Chipset, video, audio, wireless NICS and NIC install, I always get this 1 unknown device.  At first I thought it might be ACPI drivers, but it seems to me that it is installed correctly.  There are webcam seems not to be Buletooth.  Here, any help would be apreaciated.  Need to know what is this unknown device.

Please forgive me if I write in the forum.  It's ben frustrating and even call in Hp/compaq has not help me. Please let me know if I write in the wrong places.

He wasn't a blue tooth device.  It was a quick launch HP devices.  More funny thing is... that was one of the first thing I downloaded from compaq to install.  It installs a sort of HID device first time around.  I'm not sure what I did to solve it, but it is resolved. It might have something to do with the Service Pack that was on the installation media.  Thanks for the reply but.

  • Buy recovery disks NOT working - Compaq sr2020nx

    SYSTEM SPECS:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00749174

    ORIGINAL PROBLEM:

Hello.  I am working on a friends Compaq sr2020nx PC where the hard drive gone bad.  The disk was diagnosed as bad that he's not INTELLIGENT diagnostics in the BIOS.  It is not available when booting from a live Linux or as a slave drive in 2 different computers running one XP Pro Windows 7 other.  The hard drive is definitely bad.  He had not burned the recovery discs before the disk leave so I ordered the recovery disc from Compaq/HP for $15.

    8

The system came with XP MCE 2005 64-bit.  The disks that HP/Compaq let me order were the 64 Windows XP MCE SP2 recovery.  There are 3 DVD provided.  2 are recovery disks and 1 is complementary.

The new drive is a Western Digital SATA 320 GB.

    WHAT DOES NOT WORK NOW

With the new installed hard drive I boot from the #1 system recovery disk.  I get a message that says "no operating system installed or damaged partition.  Press 'R' to perform a full restore of the PC. »

    I press R.

I get a message on the bottom of the screen that reads, "Preparation of partition recovery - please wait." with a progress bar under.  That completes it.

Next message I get is 'start the PC recovery.'

The screen then goes to the word "COMPAQ" in big red letters on the screen with a small progress red bar that scrolls under it.  (Kind of like when XP starts when you have the "XP" logo and the Green scroll bar just below.)

COMPAQ screen remains for almost an hour before I get a blue error screen: 0x0000007B that reads something to the effect of Windows stopped to keep from harm the system runs chkdks etc...  According to HP/Compaq support pages

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07144 I'm supposed to try to redo recovery.  Same thing is going to always ending in the Blue error screen.

    I TRIED THINGS

That's the problem.  I can't get the purchased recovery disks to restore the system.  I tried cleaning the DVD, using a different DVD player, but always the same.  I am able to install and run Linux on the hard drive and the computer works fine.  I can install Vista 64-bit on the hard drive and it works fine.

I checked the hard drive after you start the recovery process and it fails.  It seems that the recovery disc creates a FAT32 partition of 8.5 GB and copies on some files.  It leaves the rest of the disk unallocated as if there is never that far in the recovery process.  I tried recovery after having 1 partition and format.  The recovery disk when it is run again will create the 8.5 GB FAT32 partition and leave the rest of the disk unallocated.  I tried to create a single partition to the unallocated space, and then rallied but still not the COMPAQ screen for an hour and then fail.

At this point I don't know what else to do.  It seems to me there is something wrong with the image discs that Compaq has sent me.  Something to do with the drivers SATA is not on it?

    Any ideas?  Thank you.

I solved the problem by using a 200 GB IDE hard drive, I had in another computer.  The recovery disks worked fine with this drive.  There is nothing wrong with the Western Digital 320 GB disk but for some reason it wouldn't work with the recovery discs in the Compaq.  Maybe it's a SATA I vs SATA II issue or a driver problem with restore disks.

  • Moving from one machine to another HARD drive because of hardware failure, need to reactivate. Need help.

Trying to help someone, their Compaq PC dies M/B or failure of the CPU. I am replacing a similar age of old IBM ThinkCentre o. Both machines have a valid XP license attached, the Compaq has XP Home, IBM has XP Pro. When installing the IBM HARD disk, I get the message that it must be enabled before it can connect, activation fails try to use the automated system, and when I called and tried to talk with a MicroSmurf of India, the female [explitive omitted] disconnected the call before I could try to explain the situation. (Both for customer service).

I need to know how to get this thing to validate and let me log, because, at the very least, I kinda need to run the file and Settings Transfer Wizard so everything works out on an external drive.

I tried to use the Hack on MyDigitalLife, Yes, I know, designed for crackers, but it is legitimate, but the tool it is infected with a Trojan, so I had to spend.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Remember that here, there is no attempt to violate the license: the 'new' machine has a valid license attached, the OS just needs to be informed of such.

    Thank you

Licenses on these machines are more likely to OEM licenses and so are related to the first machine to which they were installed on.  So, when your Compaq is dead, then no license.  What you need to do is install the Compaq drive has failed as an extra drive (secondary) on the IBM. Sometimes, when you do this, the computer will attempt to start since incorrect disk.  If when you start your IBM machine, you must press the key at the beginning that sends you in the settings of the BIOS on the computer.  Somewhere in the BIOS settings, you must specify that you want the IBM to boot from the original disk which has been in the IBM instead of the disk from Compaq.  Once you do this, IBM should start from its own drive without licensing issues.  You should then see the Compaq drive mounted as a secondary drive under "My Computer".  You will then be able to copy or back up files, you need to save this record.

    Hello

I have a Compaq presario CG60 and since I've updated from Vista home premium to Win 7 as a free upgrade from Compaq, my PC is always crashing.

The laptop for about 9 months.

Laptop crashes when the laptop is suspended or hibernation for a given period. I frequently get a blue screen down also.

I have re-installed the laptop of-> Win 7 by default and the same error on the replacement of the battery. The laptop is running on battery, but once she is suspended, it will crash & windows prompts you to restore & repair.

Help appreciated! Do I need a new battery or is it a Vista known-> issue of Win 7.

    Thank you

    Try the following steps:

    1. install HP Vista Nvidia chipset, here rebort.

2 uninstall the current Nvidia video driver, install the following:

    NVIDIA 8400 M GS and 8600M GS

    197,16 32-bit and 64-bit 197,16

If errors, try modded INF of the site www.laptopvideo2go.com

For GeForce version 197.16, here 32 bit and here 64 bit

Run the installer first, if it fails, try 3 steps to install:

    1. download the driver, double click and select extract,

    2. download modded INF and replace original INF in extracted folder,

    3. install & restart.

If all goes well, who would set falls down when the laptop is suspended or hibernated.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

    Hello:

I think that the player could have been a little too big for the machine...

I'm sure that you need the system driver mobile protection for one of these devices missing ACPI:

  • Reinstalled XP, but no Internet connection

    Hello and Hello.

I have an old Compaq Presario. 6122AP desktop PC I had to reinstall XP using the original disk from Compaq and had the impression that this wipe the hard drive and do a clean install.

This is not the case, as all the old files are still on the C:\ drive. This isn't a problem, and I include it just for reference.

The disc did install a new version of XP that starts from, but none of the original programs are recognized.

What is a problem is that I have canoe to connect to Internet.

It is impossible to establish a network connection - I can select 'broadband on All The Time', but no icon is displayed in the login window network and Internet, where connections are generally indicated.

In the hardware - device manager, it says "Other devices" - Ethernet controller, with a big yellow question mark and an exclamation point. (Also the multimedia Audio Controller and the USB controller).

On the general tab, we have:

Location: Bus PCI 5, device 8, function 0
Status of the device: this device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click on reinstall.

Looking at the details of the driver on the driver tab it says no driver has been installed.

On the Details tab, we have:
    PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_1039 & SUBSYS_00910E11 & REV_81\4 & 25296D 99 & 0 & 40F0

I search the HP and Compaq sites to download driver but I can't find any specific information to solve this problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.
