  I write this post to ask for information on the possibility to do an upgrade of hardware on my HP Envy 15-j104elsystem.

  -Replace the network card (NIC) to a wireless better and possibly with a compatible AC NIC.

  -Update to 16 GB of ram, put benches with CL9 SODIMM

  The questions that I want to bring to your attention are:

  -There is a 'white list' for the wifi card on my BIOS (actually F66)?

The next thing to try is to restart my phone so my WAP. I turned off the phones and powered router myUVerse market. Once the router is up, I turned on the phone and they worked immediately.

  OK, so the only way I could solve the problem was to find the driver for windows 7 and install it instead of one that comes with windows 8. Windows 8, should not have been designed for my Hp. After doing that my internet was again up to 33 MB a s I hope this will help all of you others out there with this problem.   Until this weekend, I was able to close the lid of my HP Pavilion and use an external monitor with wifi full power. However, after a series of updates from Windows last week, when I close the lid now: first wifi loses connectivity for 20 or 30 seconds, and then he picks up the connection, but speeds are greatly reduced and in some cases, connection with websites expires as evil to load pages.  Control speeds with cover facing upward and the lid down is day and night.

  I turned the power settings for the adapter on and out, tried to uninstall then reinstall the adapter, roll back the driver, by changing power options in Windows 10 but nothing seems to make a difference.  Its almost as if the updates included a substitution which affects the adapter wireless to save energy.

  FYI - my product numbers is L0N80UA #ABL but... A new set of Windows updates came today and low and here's the problem seems to be fixed (or at least much better).

  If you have ideas on what has caused this for later use, I am interested to hear, but for now, I think that it resolved.

  When wifi is connected, your phone uses Wi-Fi only, so you don't need to switch the SIM card, either by the way if you want to be 100% sure it will not be used, you can just use the quick toggle setting to toggle mobile data connection.

  Unfortunately problems with wifi cell phone after last win10 update, not completely broken but work very unconsistent.

  Have you tried running File Checker Windows system, no problems which are not. The unoffical atheros site - drivers.com claim to have a 'new' pilot win10 for my model, but not really my cup of tea to mess with unoffical drivers, it really shouldn't be necessary.

  After searching the Web, I saw all kinds of variations of symptom of wifi-questions about win10 updates, a bit similar to mine but with very different solutions. Really a mess for the "average user" to know where to start troubleshooting unfortunately.

  Anyone with experience of a similar problem? Have a fine system of win8.1 image to roll back that as a last resort, if I can't sort out, but it would be a shame. :-(

  No matter when I have a driver like that, problem I open the Device Manager, go to the device and uninstall/remove the drive from the device. Then restart and let the system see the drive automatically.

  With the pilot WiFi which can be more difficult. Can you connect directly to your router for a network connection? (a decent connector 10/100/USB 2.0 is under $12 on Amazon, $15 for a USB 3.0 10/100/1000. )
