I need to do an upgrade of the BIOS on my 14-b017cl Sleekbook.

The laptop is demoted to win7, win8 was installed originally.

Is it safe to run the update in win7?

The available updates are officially for win8 only (see: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-116297-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en... )

I've not tested it personally, but if it is not compatible, it will tell you at the outset. So, I don't see any harm in trying the update.

  • Decommissioning 64 Win7 32 bit

We plan to buy (Tigerdirect) a PC refurbished which has Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and upgrade it to Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I already have for Windows 7 32 - bit support, a USB key with the Installer (downloaded from DigitalRiver, years ago). The question is, can I downgrade the 64 bit to 32 bit using my media, and then use the same product key supplied with the 64-bit to 32-bit install? The product key can be read "Rebuilt", so I have no idea if I'll find it difficult to do the downgrade.

Tonight, I visited the store of Tigerdirect here in Puerto Rico, just to ask an another sales associate. A few days before, a sales associate told me I could buy the 64-bit PC and he go down to 32-bit. Guess what? Another told me the opposite. He told me that the product key is related to the version of Windows 64-bit.

Not true, the product key is not specific architecture (32 or 64-bit) as long as it's the same edition, the product key will work.

I refuse to believe that it is true because Microsoft used to offer the Win 7 32 and 64-bit versions on the same DVD, a product key. So why the product key should be clean now? I don't understand. Why Tigerdirect people lie to a customer?

    TigerDirect Sales Associate is misinformed.

  • Decommissioning of win7 64-bit to 32-bit win7

I have a HP Pavilion Elite 410 T with a processor Intel I7 Professional Windows 7 64 bit and want to downgrade to windows 7 32 bit. Is this possible. I understand that HP does not support this configuration, but I can't get a direct customer service response if it is possible to do. All I have is that my model is not compatible windows 7 32 bit. Can someone explain to me why he will not support 32-bit operating system because the HP customer service cannot.

    Thanks for any help...

    Hello

Your PC will certainly support a 32-bit installation, but you cannot convert your existing installation of 64-bit to a 32-bit, one - would need to do a clean install of Windows 7 32-bit and so would need an installation disc for what will probably say buy a copy retail.  It may be useful to contact HP and see if they would send you a set of recovery disks of 32 bits for your PC that would cost less if they would.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If your only option is to buy a copy of the sale at retail of Windows 7 in order to install the 32-bit version (the commercial version will contain records for 32 and 64 bit), you can check the available downloads for your PC running 32-bit installation on the link below so that you will not lose all the software you need.

If the reason why you don't like Win8x is the lack of a desktop and start menu, consider downloading and installing ClassicShell.  This will give the look-and-feel of Win7 back - and it's FREE!

As for Win7, there are drivers HP to Win7 for your PC: http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/7771366/model/8255011

If this page does not display Win7 when you open it, then click on edit and select Windows 7 from the menu drop down.

As for the feature, Yes, you will have the same functionality in Win7 you have in Win8x - just a different user interface.

There is no 'path of decommissioning' to Win7. Instead, you'd have to do is to boot from Win7 installation media and install it on top of Win8.  This means that you will lose all existing applications, the parameters and the data of the user in the process.

NO, we do not keep or use the same license.  Your PC came with HP OEM Win8 preinstalled, and that's what the license is for.  To install Win7, you will need to buy it and then activate it by using the product key that you receive with the purchase.  You can't buy this at HP, because he's not selling copies of Win7.

But what you CAN do is to check with the HP customer service and see if they will sell you HP to Win7 for your PC recovery media.  It would cost much less go out and buy a copy of Win7 retail.

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

    Good luck

  • Decommissioning of Pavilion 15-n287cl for Win7

Wife got a new Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n287cl and she hated Windows 8.  I told him that I him downgrade to 7 after she has spent some time with her and hated 8... disabled Smart Boot, got Win7 installed just fine.  Starts in 7 for the first time and I tried to install the drivers from the disk and a bootable USB key and got said that none of the drivers would work.  Curious, because I've never had problems in the past.  I went to the HP site and saw the drivers for my product:

    Hello:

    Give these a try...

First, you must install the AMD chipset driver and restart.

You want the first file on the Web page.

Graphic design is the fun part.  You can first try running AMD beta driver to the latest version from the link below and maybe it will install the drivers if no, then let me know and I'll give you another method to install it using this driver.

  • Portege Z930 - a few questions after decommissioning of Win8 for Win7

    Hello
    I recently bought Z930 PT234E with Win8 pre-installed. Due to the policy of the company, I needed this downgrade to Win7 Pro 32-Bit (deleted all partitions and creates a partition must usually be made). I downloaded all the drivers for the OS and installed. And it all started after that;

    1. I'm trying to install TOSHIBA Smart Client Manager but returns with warning "+ before starting the implementation of TOSHIBA Smart Client Manager Client, copy an action for TOSHIBA Smart Client Manager Server header file to the installation folder. +"and I only have the file and the installation will fail. * Where can I get this file for a successful installation? *

    2. you have + hwsetup + software preinstalled on Win8 but I couldn't find this sw / driver, even for Win8 to download Toshiba pages * where can I get this sw because it gives the possibility to configure the BIOS without waiting for start? *

    3. I see that the battery is + opportunity + while I left my camera on hibernation. I have to unplug it from the power supply after that 100% charged and Hibernate, it. But after a few hours, when I turn it on, I see that it is 91%! I susbect it's because of ' + sleep and fresh + "is enabled from the BIOS, but I need to wait for the next boot. * Any comment? *

4-if I buy Toshiba online recovery support, this will help me to install Win8 as first boot and create the deleted partitions as in "+ * factory State * +". In other wprds, this recovery media will set my z930 to the State from the factory with the OS and partitions. + OK, I guess this media is a DVD and I know that I need to create a USB bootable for this media... No worries :) +.

Really thanks for reading and the comments / answers :)

This file is not known to me and usually something like that should not appear if install you the software in the correct order.
Before you start to install the Toshiba software you need to install the Toshiba value added for Windows 7 package!

Only if this PPV was installed and restarted laptop, you can follow with other tools.

    > 2 - you have hwsetup software preinstalled on Win8, but I couldn't find this sw / even Win8 to the download pages where Toshiba can get this sw fly because it gives the possibility to configure the BIOS without waiting for the start?

Driver package system that is available to win 8 is NOT available for Win 7.
Instead of system driver you have installed to VAP!

But after a few hours, when I turn it on, I see that it is 91%! I susbect because of the option "sleep fresh" is enabled from the BIOS, but I need to wait for the next boot. Any comments?

Any comments? Option Charge & sleep, but also other options like the Wake Up LAN or keyboard may discharge the battery. So in case you n t want that, disable it in the BIOS

  • Satellite L875D: USB 3.0 ports do not work after decommissioning of Win8 for Win7

    Hello

I got my OS of Win8 OEM for Win 7 Home Premium because Win8 is just not for me... Its a legal version of Win7 with a product key, storebought...

The laptop is a Satellite L875D-10N, which I bought in September 13.

Installation went well, except that 2 3 ports USB 3.0 no longer works.
I can stil fresh my phone or other devices, but the laptop is not "see". Also, USB drives and other storage devices are not recognized.

In the Device Manager the ar two ports under "other devices" and no driver is installed for them.
I tried in different ways to find and install a driver, but it never works.

Can someone help me with this? I would be very much greatfull!

    Kind regards

    Wilbert
    Amsterdam, Netherlands

    > In Device Manager, the two ports are listed in the "other devices" section and no driver is installed for them.

Indeed the USB issue seems to be related to the missing drivers.

You must install this driver USB 3.0:
    [Driver USB AMD v 2.0.7.176 Windows 7 - 64 bit: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 178 & selProduct 7534 = & selSh ortMod = null & language = 13 & selOS = 30 & selType = all & yearu pload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = a llMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = al l & selectedLanguage = 13 & type = all & page = 3 & ID = 87792 & OSI D = 30 & driverLanguage = 42]

In addition, you will need to make sure that this chipset driver has been installed too.
The laptop supports the graphics chip ATI and AMD chipset. The chipset driver is the driver of ATI graphics card and this is why you must make sure that this driver would be installed too.

  • Envy 15 k200nw: decommissioning of k200nw HP Envy 15 Win10 for Win7 - need direction and drivers!

    Hi all good people!

I recently purchased this new HP Envy 15 - k200nw (product no. L0M95EA #AKD) and did my best to get used to Win10 but failed miserably. I just missed a few good ol' ' interface of Windows too so I had demoted him to Win7. And to add insult to injury - has not made a copy of the front swsetup folder. Now the problem is that some things work and some don't. I spent almost all day by browsing this forum and looking for answers, but my level of computer knowledge is not enough to understand all the knowledge and advice and understand it on my own.

I know that I should have some drivers and I have already installed the chipset driver, offered HP Web site.

From what I've observed so far, is that:

-Beats Audio software is no longer in Control Panel and I could not find a driver for my laptop to fix (even if the speakers work)

-Bluetooth seems to be dead, it will not receive files or install drivers for the recently paired devices

-the cooling system is strong as hell and will not calm down

-touchpad gestures (like scrolling movement) would ' t work anymore but I downloaded a driver on the Symantec site and it works now, just a little different

-fingerprint sensor is the death of all

-There is no pop - ups over who to display changes in the level of the volume, brightness, etc. on the screen

Can someone please be so kind and show me the way how to fix these problems or point to a similar thread that I him haven't noticed? I was downloading like crazy drivers, but now there are too many of them and some are not suitable for my hardware but I downloaded them in any case. The collector syndrome

  • Intel HD Driver issues to the decommissioning of Win8 to Win7

    Hi guys,.

I currently have a bunch of machines Pro3500MT HP that came preinstalled with Win8 on them, and after checking with HP, they stated that their compatibility to be downgraded to run on Win7.

The installation works fine up until the point where Intel HD drivers are installed and this causes the pc to BSOD with IRQ isn't equal error. (I'll add the dump shortly files)

Has anyone had this experience with these machines?

    Hello:

I've seen situations on the other business office HP PC where this occurs when you install W7 (no SP1), and then try to install the drivers before the W7 SP1 update.

If that's what you were doing, the solution is to install W7, update SP1 before you install all the drivers, and it should work.

If this is not your situation, then I would try the video driver Intel HD directly from Intel.
