15-p151nr Pavilion: Pavilion 15-p151nr dead, power supply LED flashes 3 times but does not start

With or without the adapter is connected to the computer (well known socket), the computer will not turn on.  The LED located on the left side of the computer where the socket is attached blinks 3 times (white), but does not supply power to the top.  Another post I saw said "continuous" flashing would be the power adapter, but wanted to ensure that it is in fact the problem before buying a new...  Any help would be great!

  • Pavilion 15 - p002nia: HP Pavilion 15 - p002nia fan runs but does not start

My 2 year old son poured drink chocolate on the keyboard of my laptop 15 - HP Pavilion p002nia recently bought. When I found out, the laptop had stop, all efforts to start failed. White LED light on the button walk / stop would stay and fan would run for 30 seconds, stops, starts and stops continuously. The system does not start. What can I do? The jury is dead?

Hi TheOldMan, thanks for your response. But, someone suggested I have dismantle the system, clean with alcohol and dry that it might help the dos system.

  • Pavilion dv7-6101eo works but does not start.

My laptop got a cup of black coffee on the keyboard.

I have cleaned up a bit, disassemble the entire laptop, same cpu, added new money and put the brand new togeather. Started and everything worked. Close the computer laptop domw - dead. Could not start without flashing, nothing. Repeated picking hand everythung once again and began. Works perfekt press start and go. So this time I made a recovery and reinstalled everything.

The keyboard does not everywhere, a, s, d, f, e, l and Swedish letter o does not work very well. I don't have much contact for helmet properly not work either - you get a bit of his, but a little in the speakers and phones. I forgot to check the sd card reader, but here, it is located in the corner of a speaker.

Onece I disassembled except mobo and this card reader and then the laptop is not started. I had to do it all again and he began. So now I'm a little confused to what it can be?

It does not remove batteri, pushing start button. Not 15 seconds - not even 2 minutes. I know that battery, power cord works fine, cd, network, hard drive, memory, fan, cpu - everything works and yesterday the laptop running 24 hours without dysfunction at all. Programs installed and revived over and over again. And after all that I closed the laptop the way you should. And - he won't do it again?

There is a possibility that some power is left in the drive cd-card or something that stops the laptop to boot? Or is it enough that the keyboard is malfunctioning? I don't understand what it is with the disassembeling process that makes the laptop to start.

It's not fun to have all take part whenever you want to start your computor ...

Looks like the coffee did more damage as you thought.

You should have dismantled it and used contact cleaner everywhere where coffee could go.

The next step is difficult for most people: allow to dry for at least a day outdoors in a dry place without danger... It is unfortunate that you don't have that.

Consider looking for a replacement book.  A motherboard and keyboard options, less the cost puts you upside down against the current value of the laptop.

  • Pavilion a6327uk will not start. Light output at the rear is enabled, all the work of 3 fans, but does not start.

I have a Pavillion equipped a6327uk for vista 32 bit. I had similar problems before and remove all cables, hold the button to boot without the power connected, reconnect the and then turn on solves the problem. I suffered a blue screen, where I was told the computer was stop and spills of memory. Then I rebooted the computer froze and since then it will not start. I led on the power supply/process button cable about 30 times more than three days without success. The computer does not go to the HP logo screen, it just stops. Can anyone help with further action please.

It could be almost anything that prevents your computer from starting to start to eliminate things.  If the computer under warranty?  If this is not the case, unplug everything including the power cord from your computer. Unplug the keyboard, monitor, mouse, readers flash and all other connected outside of the machine. Open the unit and unplug all the devices connected to the power supply except the motherboard.  Disconnect the hard drive cable and power supply data connection, disconnect the connection cable and power supply of the CD/DVD data, disconnect any drive card reader or floppy drive.  Therefore remains connected to the power supply should be taking 20/24 pin to the motherboard and 4 or 8 pin 12V for the cpu power cable.  Remove all cards that may be in the slots, as the video card, modem, network card (if they are not built in to edge of devices.) Just the cards that can be inserted into the slots.  Make sure all items are away from the computer and cannot cause a short circuit when you use power. Look at the motherboard and see if the capacitors were bulged or rounded top and maybe even a brown substance leaking from the top.  Check the video card as well for the same and a blocked fan who may have been not turn.  Test the power supply with a volt/ohm meter if you have one. If this is not the case, turn on the power and see if the fans are running and you get beeps.  If this isn't the case, hold the power button for about 5 seconds until the machine turns off.  Try only a chunk of memory at a time and in each of the slots.  If it starts to act normally, it is probably food.  If the sounds seem normal, unplug the power cable and install one at a time from the video card and connect the monitor to it. Plug the power cable from back in and start the machine.  If you have a video, keep disconnect power, adding another device such as the keyboard and the mouse until you arrive finally to your hard drive.  Do your last hard drive because there all your important data on it and you do not want to expose to all this test.

  • Tecra A8: Power led blinks orange twice and does not start

trying to turn on PC toshiba laptop tecra a8. the light on the power button flashes two times once green and orange and it won't start.

    any suggestions?

    Hello

It seems that there is a hardware failure.
The flashing LED provides a microcode of dysfunction. The short flashing 0 flashing medium-long and 1.
The full code can be read by a maintenance technician, and the reason for the failure could be found very easily.

But before you contact the ASP in your country, I recommend trying the suggestion given by Robin.
Remove the battery and unplug the AC of the laptop. Then wait a little (15-20 min) and then connect everything again. Then check if the laptop starts.
    SE not-> ASP.

    Good luck

  • Pavilion Slimline s5510f: Desktop turns on but does not start

No problem whatsoever with the computer.  On the indicated start screen Windows updates have been installed.   I noticed that the update "failed" and was "back" to forecast position or something to that effect.

This has happened about 4 days after I tried to leave the HP screen download updates from HP.  The download takes forever and I finished downloading.  Don't know if this has nothing to do with the question or not.

Used the computer all day and then stop it.  Next day morning hitting the power button, fans have started, a yellow light flickered once and nothing happenn-no beeps.  The screen was black and then a box of monitor State said he was not getting a signal and entered into mode 'sleep'.  Key Board not light.

I closed the computer and tried a reboot.  Same thing happened.

I looked at a few HP documentation and videos about the lack of seed.  I did find a simular situation to mine because most people get a cursor on a black screen or an error message.  All my computer is turn on, a flicker of yellow light, fans running and there it is.

I tried to access the BIOS by turning on the computer and press F10, then F1 but nothing happens at all.

I removed the memory cards and reinstalled them.  Same thing.

I removed the memory cards and attempted to start the thing same computer.  No beeps.

I would like to make the backup disks that I made when I bought the computer.   I hesitate to do something with these discs.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.  But, what I read in the documentation, it seems as if with no beep with memory cards removed, it is the motherboard?

If it is the motherboard, does that mean?  Go buy another computer?

You're welcome, @EarlD1.  Novice, perhaps, but you did a great job!  It is one of the most difficult and scary for some, processes of diagnostics on a computer.

I read your first post again.  I think that the next step should be to test memory.  There are several ways to test, but I want to do the most simple.  Remove all the memory when the computer is off and replace them one at a time and start.  If the computer starts, the memory is good.

If memory proves to be good, I suggest that you try to perform a system recovery complete from the recovery media that you made when you purchased the computer.

    Reinstalling the video card

Remove the USB cable and see if any change in the symptoms

Computer is HP factory refurb just more than a year (380 days)

Was going to buy a PSU and see if it is the problem, but I live in a remote area with limited access to the post office or UPS.

Any suggestions on what I could check?

    RESOLVED - NO MOTHERBOARD

AND I see that this problem came with others.

I had 8 sticks of memory and found that one of them was bad.

Strange thing is that in memory last questions always gave me a beep

start up. AND while that memory seemed ok on Ramtest

I took all the sticks and add them one at a time.

Only one of them would cause the machine to not start and loud snoring.

Works well with less memory of 2 GB. (Memory has been installed at the factory of HP - 380 days)

  • Pavilion 15 p 146: HP Pavilion notebook - failure of power supply or a laptop?

My Pavilion laptop is 4 weeks old. This morning, it worked, but I noticed that it doesn't seem to be load - the remaining battery indicator was stuck at 11 percent and there was no indication that he was in charge. Finally the laptop has stopped working.

Now I am unable to return to power.

I tried to remove the battery completely and using alternating current only, but it will not turn on. When the AC is attached no lights don't appear next to the power socket. However if I press and hold the power button, the LED next to the power jack on the laptop flashes 3 times. Release the power button then hold again produced the same results - the LED flashes 3 times.

Note that if I turn off the AC altogether the does not blink at all, which suggest that some powers gets through.

How can I determine if the problem is with the AC adapter and not an internal problem with the laptop?

    Thank you

When an AC adapter is plugged in and OK it will be a weirdo directed. If the power led does not illuminate, then this is a diagnosis that lets you know that it doesn't have the power adapter.

The power adapter is a unit that can be replaced under warranty without charge to you.

  • Pavilion a6532me: a6532 Pvillion does not start

When I turn on, PC freezes in the start screen.  I can no longer enter System Recovery, Set Up or Boot Menu now.  BIOS v5.43. Before I could, and diagnostic tests gave everything OK.  Tried to boot from a disk OS Win7, but does not start from a DVD.  Drive light flicks on twice on power on, then turns off completely.  All this a few weeks after updrading to W10 - PC W7 from hang up with drive light permanently several times.  If it was a problem with HD, it surely would boot from a DVD? All advice welcome.  THX

I had installed a Samsung SSD a year ago and everything worked fine.  Last night, I reinstalled the rotation of the original hard disk supplied with the computer and the computer booted.  I reinstalled the SSD and everything worked like new.  In other words, until this morning.  same symptoms.

    Hello @Dakest,

    Thanks for the quick response!

Please see the following documents and let me know how it goes:

HP computers - HP BIOS selected Application is damaged or missing

HP Notebook PC - restore BIOS

If you're still having problems, then you can consider replacing the CMOS battery, to see if this solves the problem for you.

    I hope this helps.
