  I have a Macbook Pro 15 "i7 mid 2012. My HARD drive just died (slowly and painfully). In a first stage, it froze, then after a reboot, Finder was to crash and restart. Another reboot failed, it just froze on the logo Apple, next took 20 minutes, but it finally began.   Go to computer stores, get an external hard drive of 1 TB capacity. Ask for one that you can just simply copy and paste to transfer files.

  I don't understand. What makes you think the reader 'is not compatible' with Windows 7? Windows (or any other OS besides) sees no external hard drives as "compatible" or not...

  I don't know, but as I know that this model comes with a SATA (Serial ATA) hard disk drive & enclosure is PATA (Parallel ATA), so it won't work. but you can try and take your laptop to a computer guy and ask him to be sure if the hard drive can be adapted to your external case. Also, if it is a SATA hard drive you can always go for an external SATA enclosure.

  Have you checked the manual of the Satellite P10?
  Sometimes, compatible CD/DVD players are in the user manual that must be installed on your laptop.
  If you n t have the user manual, then you can download from the Toshiba page.

  However, if you don't get the right info in the user's manual then I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country for details.
  Usually, you can order a player taken in charge of these guys here.

  It is important that you know which drives are compatible because of the different master\slave\c-salt settings.
