160 U does not start after changing from 4 to 8 GB Ram

Hey community,.

I just installed two new RAM DDR3 1066 MHz 7-7-7-20 204pin modules of Corsair SO-DIMM to improve my U160 somewhat. It runs a Win 7 Pro 64 Home and already has been improved with a Samsung 250 GB SSD.

The BIOS indicates the RAM properly but no matter if I try for a normal start or economy mode, restarting the laptop once the windows colors appear when starting. 'Last known version' does not help, nor let him start via a bootalble pen which I also installed this version of Windows. Because there is no blue or black screen I guess it's not a physical problem, but a prob of victory.

Someone an idea?

Thanks in advance,

Baschdel

Maybe run mem test a bar at a time to see if its bad? run the test of mem on a USB drive or a bootable cd. Lenovo is known to support only a certain amount of ram, I guess to avoid problems and complications. It is not their problem if you exceed nominal max and it does not work.

    As the topic says my computer does not start after a change of the RAM.

    I've updated 2 x 2 GB 2 x 4 GB DDR3 SO - DIMM 204pins Rams. When I start the computer after installing new RAM does nothing, all I get is a black screen.

    According to the Spec computers, it should be able to take up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM.

    Can someone help me?

    Here's the key:

    We're working on two sockets and one does not at all.

    You have a bad memory module. It happens very rarely, but it's not impossible to get a new stick of bad memory. Get the replaced bad and I think you'll be fine.

  • Windows XP does not start after the installation of 3 GB of RAM. Will start with only 2 GB or less.

    I installed the new RAM on my desktop Compaq EVO D500.  Everything was working fine until 2 GB.  When I tried to install no matter what the computer does not start.  Specifications of the computer say maximum RAM is 3 GB.  All the memory and are good because I swapped taken in all the combinations possible and memory.  Any ideas. gknapp_ny

    If their were any memory related settings that had to be changed I would have no idea how do.  I had initially 512 MB of RAM (256-2 sticks).  I added a stick of 1 GB aditional third availabel taking and all went well.  Then I had two more identical 1 GB sticks and added them one at a time.  With 2 GB without problem.  But with the third stick of 1 GB that I couldn't start - I just beeps. I swapped one of the sticks of 1 GB for an old 256 MB and still no start just beeps.  When I run 2 GB everything is fine.  The BIOS recognizes the 2 GB of RAM. gknapp_ny

    Sounds as if your BIOS will not identify no matter what says the spec, 3 GB.

    It seems as if you may need a BIOS update in order to recognize the 3 GB of RAM - especially if it is a very old Compaq Evo D500.  See the "Improvements" tab to the page linked below.

    See http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=96295&swItem=PSG_I15378-37635&prodNameId=97121&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=3

    Note that the patch on the link above is for models Evo D500 "with a ROM family 686Y2."  Read the "Release Notes" on this page to determine if your machine is one of those and if so, see "Instructions of Installation" to install the upgrade.  If your D500 is a laptop, you should Flash the ROM ONLY (i.e., update the BIOS level) when the computer is plugged - loss of power during this process can potentially cause irreparable harm to the computer.

  • My copy registered and checked for XP Pro SP3 does not start after changing the motherboard. Second problem is that I can't find my original install of XP Pro disc.

    After failing to find the source of reliable performance from my PC, I decided to bite the bullet and replace the motherboard, memory and the CPU. I installed a triple base 435 Athlon and a motherboard Gigabyte MA74GMT. Awarded PC again started the first time - but Windows will not, I get a number of options but none work - safe mode brings up several lines of messages on the partition of multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0).

    A previous post suggested that a similar message meant some kind of malware but if I replace the old motherboard, processor and memory Windows works very well - in fact I use it now.

    Do I have an option but to reinstall Windows from a CD? Otherwise I have a problem - I can't find the installation discs for each piece of software except my Windows XP Pro! I do repair discs?

    Thanks for your help.

  • DHCP service does not start after change of vmnetdhcp.conf

    Hello

    My installation includes a host running windows 8.1 pro and guest is an Oracle Linux 6.5 with NAT. As I searched for a static IP address for the comments I went ahead and added the following to the end of vmnetdhcp.conf

    host computer2 {}

    Hardware ethernet 00: 0C: 28:D9:D5:95

    fixed address - 192.168.37.3

    }

    As soon as I try to restart the dhcp service falls down. Even if I just restart machine job changes, the DHCP service does not start. When I do a reset of the network through the network Publisher configuration and simply accept a dynamic allocation of IP address to things normal race comments. The same configuration works fine on Windows 7 Pro host. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

    Thank you for using our product.

    I tried the same set upward on Win7 and Win8.1 host, both of them work well.

    So I guess that there is a syntax error when setting up vmnetdhcp.conf.

    Maybe missing ';' at the end of each line?

    An example would be like this:

    host computer2 {}

    Hardware ethernet 00: 0C: 28:D9:D5:95;

    fixed-address 192.168.37.3;

    }

    Please check and try again with kindness.

  • OptiPlex 755 USFF does not start after changing the cmos battery

    I have a desktop Optiplex 755 USFF requiring the cmos battery to replace. After the replacement of the computer will not start. It brings up the menu windows start, the sasfe mode, safe mode with network set mode command prompt, security, last know good configuration and boot normally. Any option will bring to the top of the WIndows XP loading screen and then re-boot of the computer right back to the start screen. A big loop. I can get the hard drive to boot in an Optiplex GX280 without problem. I was told of the motherboard needs to be replaced, but I changed the units of the system and the same thing with this hard drive.

    I tried to reinstall the operating system and get all the way to "starting windows" and then the blue screen stop error message 0x0000007B (0xF7A10524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) dead. The computer is WIndows XP SP3, 1 GB of ram with 80 GB hard drive. It seems that the Setup program does not recognize the hard drive.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    After several hours of experimentation, I finally found the correct BIOS settings in order to get the computer to boot. There are three BIOS settings that need to be changed or check settings by default so that it can work. SATA 0 must be activated, SATA operations must be changed from AHCI, ATA and in the modular Bay, by default "far-sighted" should be replaced by the IDE. Save the settings and start the computer to the right upwards.

  • Windows Vista does not start to change from IDE to AHCI in the BIOS

    Hi, I spent a lot of time to look at this problem online. I can't find a lot of google search results and they seem to say enter REGEDIT and change the "msahci" start to 0 and even the 'pciide', or 'iaStorV' start parameters to 0. But this does not work for me. The loading Windows with the loading bar screen Green just continues to go wrong and never Windows startup. I have Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.

    I saw someone in this forum with a similar problem but they have upgraded to Win7 on a new installation to fix the problem, they spend on AHCI RAID. I contacted Intel technical support and they said to try HP or the manufacturer of the motherboard. I contacted Intel because I installed a 520 Intel Solid State Drive series and wanted to know if they had a driver to get the benefit of the AHCI instead of the IDE. I know that a lot of people recommend a new installation of Windows, but I don't have a Windows cd with this computer (my computer is here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00835809 )

    I tried to install this Microsoft fix too. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/922976

    I wonder if there is an AHCI driver, can I install it or what I can do to get the job of AHCI?

    Thanks to anyone who can help!

    I suggested that you create disks because you said that the computer came with any one and you could not re - install Windows as suggested a possible solution. With these records, you can the recovery of the system back to a factory State. Since you want to install a SSD or change a BIOS setting, these are the changes which can damage the system and require the use of recovery disks.

    If you want a Windows Vista 'clean' no HP Setup, please see Paul's response in this thread of the forum called "System Restore not working not not for HP Media Center Desktop PC. According to his instructions is expected to create a bootable Windows Vista installation disc. My only amendment to this method, is not to use the product key Microsoft Windows Vista on the COA on the side of your computer. Instead, I would like to "Save" the product key from factory OEM HP and HP OEM certificate using ' the Activation, backup and restore ' then 'restore' the certificate and the key to the new clean install of Vista. This will result in an installation clean factory activated that does not require Microsoft to activate. Be aware that the software HP added value will no longer be on your computer. If you want to use this software, you MUST create your personal HP recovery disks and copy the "SWSETUP" folder on your current installation of factory to an external support.

    Re-install Windows Vista, as shown above with the SATA BIOS settings set on AHCI you like will work 100% of the time. It should also install to SSDs, where HP recovery discs are known to fail.

  • Virtual machine does not start after restoring from Time Machine to the new Imac

    I got my IMac replaced by Apple, after that they could not fix the old one.  They did a full restore from a Time Machine backup.  The virtual machine does not open now.   When I navigate to the file to try to open the virtual machine at the VMware logo in the bottom right of the icon displayed with large yellow exclamation appears on the icon?  Anyone encountered this problem before.  I'll take the Imac in Saturday if I can not solve.  The machine has the same size as before.  There are a few aspects of sharing with the Mac application miss me?

    According to the MacVirt.vmdk folder, you have the right number of segments of shared disk so you should be able to create a new VM by pointing to the disc in the new VM Wizard by pointing to the MacVirt.vmdk file.

    Note: After you create the new Virtual Machine, I would not suggest the Virtual Machine to stop, pause and close merge and then move all *.vmdk files in the package of the virtual machine, and then manually change the computer configuration files virtual .vmx and change the path to a little to view the MacVirt.vmdk file.  In this way, everything is in one package and is easier to maintain.

  • Satellite Pro L40 does not start after changing the BIOS settings

    Changed some settings in the bios last night and now when I boot I get a screen black lights flash and hard drive lights up but nothing on the screen.

    There is no password on the bios... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

    I put a windows disc now, I hear the disc spin but nothing on the screen

    (I think that I have come to the right place on the forum)

    It s a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 model psl4be.

    Thank you

    > There was no bios password... How would a BIOS reset to normal?

    You can set the default BIOS ONLY inside the BIOS access BIOS by pressing F2 or at the beginning of the initialization of the order

    But I doubt that this problem is related to the BIOS.
    Maybe it s just a simple bad luck that this problem happened exactly after change something in the BIOS.

    Try connecting an external monitor and check if you can see something on the 2nd screen.

  • Does not start after change of memory.

    Laptop HP dv6 - 2173cl

    Win7-64 bit

    I thought I had an easy task at hand... change my 2x2gb = 4 GB memory for 2 x 4 GB = 8 GB of memory.

    Removed old - replaced by the new.  Old and new are pc3-10600 (1333).

    When I got to the top of the laptop I had a screen with two options: enter the Startup Repair... or... start Windows normally.  I chose "repair startup'... only to be recycled to the screen option even.  Choose "Start Windows" gives me an error message and then sends me down to the option screen.

    I went into the bios... it shows memory 8132.  I did a test of memory in the bios and it says everything is ok.  Now, I run a test of marketing... and it's an hour in a check for two hours.

    I'm guessing that my new memory fights Win7... but I don't know why.

    Will be this "hard reset" I read about the work?  I can give up the test at startup?  Is there a downside for the hard reset?

    Help please.

    I found my answer over the weekend.

    Apparently there are modules of different memory... beyond the difference in office / laptop and 1600 Mhz / 1333 Mhz 2 Gb / 4 Gb... I had all these correct.  I found there are "not so high density ' and 'high density' chipsets chipsets.

    In the discussion of the chatbox says the seller of memory, "some systems will not use the high density of the smart parts J."

    I have the new shipping modules.  If the adventure continues I'll post more.
