17 - p120wm: hp laptop 17-p120wm RAM Upgrade DIY or shop service

I can't find information about the max ram upgrade or how to remove what I can buy new ram and install it myself.

It has the factory installed 4 GB SDRAM DDR3L (1 DIMM).

I use a large workshop and if I can't install it myself they will for me when I can buy the max ram for this model.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

    @ancientnotebook

    There is nothing you can do to increase the RAM above 8 GB, and there is nothing more than 8 GB of RAM make for this computer is not better, in any case. You don't tell us what exact processor, so you I guess I was right to say that you have the Bay Trail. It is not possible to buy a bargain laptop and turn it into a street racer.

    @srinivaskrishna

    same thing for you. You don't need or your laptop get memory "Sport". This will probably work, but this type of memory performance was aggressive timings that may make them incompatible. It seems Crucial he recommends for your model laptop so they must be tested. Would have picked up something more plain vanilla, I'm sure it will work.

  • computer laptop nx9010 RAM upgrade

    My nx9010 came with 128 MB of ram and a location empty available. Doc support HP nx9000 States series 'use PC2100 DDR - 266 MHz or higher RAM only'. Review of messages of RAM upgrade for nx9010 on this forum, I see only PC2700 used. I can only assume PC2700 DDR - 266 MHz or higher version is ok for my machine?

    Yes PC2100 becomes a bit difficult to find. You can use PC2700, also known as the DDR333 and he will almost certainly be great downclock. If you buy a large public site crucial.com lite or kingston.com and buy specific modules recommended for your laptop, they will ensure the compatibility but you are very sure to get the best deal, you can at any old laptop DDR333 and install.

  • HP 2000-2110TU laptop: RAM upgrade

    I want upgrede RAM in my laptop.  What RAM capacity is supported by my laptop. which RAM company is the best?

    Supports 8192 MB RAM system in the following configurations: ● 8192 MB (4096 MB × 2;

    DDR3/1333 MHz dual channel support (downgrade/DDR3 1600 MHz at DDR3-1333)

    Your manual

    See page 39 for "how-to". Your specified 4-gig module:

    Module memory 4 GB (PC3 12800, 1600 MHz) 652972-001

    https://www.Amazon.com/HP-10600-579155-001-MMH6114-652972-001/DP/B003L27BB0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1475677829 & SR = 8-2 & Keywords = 652972-001

    It comes to DDR3-1600 and DDR3-1333 1.5 volt memory. None of the "general public" memory manufacturers; Kingston, Crucial, Samsung will have compatible memory and I would stick with them. Try to match what you already have... as many blocks on the side of the module, same side for CL. This will ensure a faster operation dual channel.

    I thought he responded. Yes, you can remove the hard drive and replace it with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. The Evo 850 is an example of this type of SSD. Your warranty may be at risk by opening the laptop to do the upgrade, however. If you want instructions let us know and you need to plan a way to get the software on the SSD drive in advance.

    1. how many ram slots have?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

    I'll try to give you some answers:

    # According to specification of laptop there two RAM slots
    # Your laptop can handle with 4 GB max, then you can do whatever you want and it depends on how much RAM you want to have inside. You can buy a module of RAM of 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM. That should be enough to work with Vista or Win7 even. Of course, you can upgrade to maximum and buy 2 X 2 GB.
    # It has no meaning at all. If the speed of the FSB of your motherboard is 53 MHz why use 800 MHZ modules. Your laptop will not be faster because of Rams with more MHz.
    # Yes, Kingston product high quality and using Kingston modules, you should not have compatibility problems.
    # I put t see any reason why you shouldn't be able to install Win7, but before this visit Toshiba support page and check if your phone model is supported for Win7.

  • Satellite 3000 - X 4: Question about RAM upgrade

    Hi all

    I'm looking for more information on how to upgrade the RAM for my SATELLITE S3000 - X 4 (120 MB RAM, 14 GB HD I think!). Here's a little history...

    This laptop is about 5 years old, and I'm hoping to speed up a bit. I don't want to buy a new computer because she usually serves my needs.

    I emptied my hard drive files and unwanted programs. And I ran Jv16 Power Tools to clean the registry and minimize starts the process.

    It's always a little slow and if I am considering upgrading the RAM because I think I can do this for about £50. My questions are:

    What type of upgrade RAM should I look to buy? (This laptop have 2 RAM "plug-ins" or just one?)
    What is the size of RAM upgrade is the maximum an S3000 - X 4 could face?
    Could a novice like me to adapt to the style DIY upgrade?

    Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Gabrielle

    Hi Gabrielle

    He is old enough. I looked for some info, but unfortunately I n t have not found much. The device can use the 512 MB of RAM, and you can use 2 sticks of memory. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use the module with tracking number PA3086U - 1. 25 M.

    The unit is not known to me but please check the underside. On most units, you can find coverage of memory.
