17 - Y018: when creating media of catering for the new laptop?

Just bought a new laptop HP Y018 this afternoon, still in the box.  Should I do the update of the W10 birthday and then create the recovery media or should I do the creation of recovery first media, and then update the birthday?

Hello

Depending on what software you use to create the media. HP Recovery Manager will create a set of recovery media (DVD) or USB, allowing you to go back to the factory settings so you can do before or after the update of the anniversary of W10.

Kind regards.

  • Which screen is best for the new laptop

I am a photographer of nature pro and you are looking to buy a new convertible laptop and I decided on the spectrum of HP 360 x 13.3 inches. I'll be using it for travel, showing pictures to clients and on the road, making a few changes on the images. This is not my main editing tool, but when you travel for long periods, I would not share a few images.

    HP offers two screens:

    13.3 "diagonal QHD + FPS BrightView - backlight WLED (3200 x 1800)

    or

13.3 "diagonal QHD UWVA BrightView backlight OLED compatible multitouch glass (2560 x 1440) on board edge

For the race of lightroom and photoshop and make a few changes. Which screen is best?

I'm not really familiar with OLED, but it seems that the main selling point is deep blacks. It is very good for watching movies and virtually nothing else. If you work for printing, so jet of ink or offset, she has a problem of pure and simple. Obviously, no drop-down list paper/ink never remotely cannot match - and if you're in there for a monumental disappointment when you see the result.

The objective is always of "what you see is what you get". This means lower the contrast on the screen ratio.

I keep my Eizos calibrated to 0.5 cd/m² dark purposes most - which is actually high enough - to get a good screen to print match. For some work on Matt paper I go as high as 1.2 cd/m².

The other advantages of OLED - wide angles of vision and the wide range of colors - are already covered by IPS/PLS/AMVA existing panels.

  • Satellite A60-142: Tips for the new laptop

    Hi all

I think to buy a new laptop.
I currently have a Satellite A60-142 and I only am not too thrilled about this model since the fan makes me crazy... It is constantly running and compared to my old laptop (Satellite 1410-304), it makes a lot of noise...

So, I want to get a new laptop which is quieter...
I need basically for email/surfing/Online games/digital still camera.

    Thanks for the tips!
    Ellen

    Hi Ellen

Well, it is a known issue that, often, the fan works. If you play games or use other applications, the laptop works at high performance and the parts of the device as the processor or graphics card produce a lot of heat. In this case, aeration run also at high speed. It is a simple fact.
As far as I know, you can try to change the settings of cooling in the power utility.
In addition it is not easy to say which model of laptop runs more quiet. In the notebooks of high performance fans are bigger and louder by contrast office books are ineffective but easier to cool.

It's not easy to make a choice

    Good bye

  • How can I download previously purchased Photoshop elements 11 and 12 for the new laptop?

I got a new laptop of Toshiba Satellite touch screen for Christmas and I want to download my previously purchased Photoshop items 11 and 12.  I need assistance and/or instructions on how to do it on my new Windows 8 operating system as I tried and had to uninstall programs.  Your help will be most appreciated!

If you have downloaded to the origin of the requests, you might find links to do so again through your Adobe account online.  In addition, here is a link where you can download trial versions and use your serial number to activate to use fully.

For the prodesigntools links be sure to follow the steps described in the Note: very important Instructions in the section on the pages of this site download and have cookies turned on in your browser, otherwise the download will not work correctly.

  • Need to download Elements 5.0 for the new laptop

Hi there, I bought Elements 5.0 in 2007 and continue to use it. But I can't find a place to download a copy on my new laptop. 5.0 is no longer supported and available for download? Thanks, kj

All the known resources for download of older versions of items go no further than version 8.  It is likely that version 5 would be problematic on a newer OS if it could be installed at all.

  • How can I create system recovery disc for a new laptop with windows 7 Home Premium?

I just bought my daughter a new Toshiba Satellite with Windows 7 Home Premium laptop last night. The laptop came with a Windows restore disk. How to create a set of boot from the DVD then when the system fails, or I need a new facility? I created a system repair disc and two-disc Image recovery. Is this enough to fully restore Windows 7 to the initial state of machines? (Technology at best buy assured me that it was nothing that I was able to do and that they would do for me for $70.00.)

In short: my Dell came with a system recovery disk which was very convenient. I would like to reproduce this convenience with Windows 7. Any help appreciated.

    Jim

You will need to follow the manufacturers directions to create the recovery media. Looks like you've done that, but Toshiba could only say with certainty. I recommend that you contact their customer service.

  • Trying to share a HP printer (connected by USB cable to the desktop running XP) for the new laptop running Windows 7

    Hello

I was able to share the printer between two computers, such as mentioned in the title, but I can not print from my laptop if my office (to which the printer is connected) is disabled.

Is this in any way about this? I have a netgear router and Windows 7 contains the printer even when the office is off, but says that it is offline.

Your help is appreciated in advance.

    Hello

Around her, the only way is to get a network printer.

Network printer is connected (or connect via Wireless) in the router and thus accessible by any computer on the network.

I do not know. The answer depends on what's wrong with the old.

Can I do this using a USB Flash drive?

    # If you can not start the old laptop, you cannot transfer files from it
    to the USB.

If the problem with the old laptop isn't that hard drive has
has failed (and that's a big 'if'), you can pull the hard drive.
and get an external USB enclosure. Having done this, you can read
It is on the new laptop and copy files from it.

  • Suggestions for a new laptop - perhaps Satellite Pro L550-17U

Didn't know where to ask it is here in the General category.

I'm looking for a laptop replacement with some specificity. I can get most of them, but the last of them is difficult. If the requirements are:

17 "screen with a horizontal resolution at least 1600.
Minimum of 4 GB of RAM (8 would be nice)
    Running Windows 7 64-bit
    Bluetooth

    and finally, the duck:

    Supports Intel VT (Virtualization Technology)

I thought that the Satellite Pro L550-17U would be OK, but looking at the Intel site, it does not seem that T6570 processor supports VT and it must be supported in the BIOS even when, and nothing in the spec says that it will be.

Any person able to provide any help please? I would stay with Toshiba, as I had this high reliability of them, but would consider other fact (sorry Toshiba) if it is the only option.

    Roger

    Hello Roger

In my opinion the most important question is: how much you are willing to pay for the new laptop?
Satellite L is OK, but don't forget that the L-series is, in general, not the best model of Satellite.

What objectives do you need new notebook?
