1703 monitor black screen

I have an old HP, HP Pavilion g767c computer and it has a HPf1703 monitor.

first question, last week, or so I had a problem with the monitor goes black.  I turn it off.  then turn it back on, and it lights up.  The number of times this happens varies considerably.  When he does now the fact that 10 to 15 times in a row. I tried to wait longer before Relighting, and which makes no difference. It happened several times when I first come on the computer and turn on the monitor. I was told it might be cables, so I checked those. Seems to be no rhyme or reason for when it will do. Sometimes, when I turn first, sometimes not until later. It got to the point that when he does he does it several times as when it happened first.  While it is to do, the picture darkens a fair bit until he sinks. When I turn it on then next turn, it turns upward.

I'm not a techie person, but my wild guess is that the monitor will go dead. Does this sound right?  It's not only do when the monitor has served for a long time.  Its usually when I first turn it on.  I have read other assignments, and they seem to indicate that either, card video, driver, or something with the bios.  So just to do another monitor does not sound like it woul work. Or I am mistaken and video card is not in the CPU unit.

Problem with getting a new monitor is that I do not have a bigger screen. Unless I am mistaken, the current monitor is a 17 "one.  The only HP I see available starting at 20 ". Only small I've seen tend to be names that I've never heard and they are still at least a 19 1/2 inch.  There is a 20 "HP for sale and I was about to get one of them.  But if this isn't in the monitor it self, which cannot solve the problem.

Am I right in thinking "repair necessary stage of its product life" probably means sound to the point where it doesn't pay to try to get it fixed?

I know I can get a 20 "HP for $139, but on sale this week for $89. Guess he could perform as take the monitor to a place of the computer to see if they find what is wrong.

I don't want a bigger due to the configuration on my desktop computer, but cannot see also spend a fortune trying to find a smaller.  Especially since I think I got the computer in 2005.

You are right. It would not be enough return on investment for repair costs.  $ 89.00 for sale monitor on seems reasonable.  What belongs to you. If you take it to a computer place, they will probably try to sell you another monitor. Unless you are an engineer or have been an Eectronics technician in a previous life (like me) it is not worth fixing.

Kind regards

  • Tecra S1 - black screen even on external monitor

    Hello

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, but here goes: I have a tecra s1 who was working fine then one day. I turned it on all I get a black screen. I suspect that it's the hard drive but not 100%.

I tried to connect to an external monitor as the same just a black screen. My question is this laptop does not start if the hard drive is bad I think it would be at least got to the bios screen, but I get nothing but a black screen.

any help would be appreciated thanks.

    Hi cracypcguy,

For me, this looks like a hardware malfunction if on an external monitor, you can see a white screen also. In addition, I doubt it has something to do with the HARD drive. In this case you should see the screen of the BIOS at least.

Anyway, in your case, I'll ask a maintainer approved assistance. Technicians can check your laptop parts and the exchange of defective material.

    I hope I could help you! :)

  • PAVILION A6504UK (FK508AA) BLACK SCREEN on HP w1907v LCD MONITOR

My A6504UK is 2 years old, has built-in integrated graphics Nvidia GeForce 6150 SE nForce 430 and I use the HP w1907v LCD wide screen monitor.

Recently, the monitor was flashing to a black screen and then return to the Windows form, showing what I did previously.

This flashing lasts for about 10 seconds and is intermittent, there is absolutely no reason or warning to what happens.

There seems to be no breakdown in the quality of the screen, but I struggled to install the Nvidia drivers for 1440 x 900 native resolution. When the driver is installed, it does not always show the native resolution from the list of choices.

By pressing the button Auto / Select on the monitor makes no difference either.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and it's a complete installation after the PC has been returned to factory Vista settings.

Can someone give me a hint as to if it is the monitor or the integrated graphics card (more likely)?

I can install a separate graphics card and disable the onboard easily graph?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Question of likely monitor, less likely a video card problem. Can be confirmed with another monitor if you have an or try this monitor on another system. Installing a video card will automatically disable the onboard video.

  • monitor gets black screen

My monitor guard rethink a black screen when I turn on my computer, basically when I turn it on I see start for half a second, then I get the black screen while my monitor is always on

Now, I recently built a computer, put it a few days ago the same thing happens, I didn't install anything don't not even windows 7 yet, but when I turn on the computer I get the black screen again, I can not install windows

My brother and his friend think it is the graphics card, but when I built my new computer black screen continued to occur. If I turn my screen I can see my screen for half a second, and then it just goes black again.

Yes I checked the cables for the monitor, I have even plugged into my laptop, and the same thing happened to the monitor

So I was wondering... What is the cause of the problem? my brother think that theres something wrong with the new parts, I think it's the monitor that is causing the black screen and I have to buy another... What is it?

    Hello

Since the monitor displays the same black screen after connecting to a laptop, this might be a problem with the monitor. Contact the manufacturer of the monitor on this issue.

  • HP Envy 15 notebook PC C8P47AV: black screen on laptop and also when I connect to monitor

When I turn on my laptop I can see only a black screen.  I don't quite see the HP logo.  The hard drive seems to be spinninge I can hear the fan and the lights on the wireless and the caps lock are functional; believe so everything works well except the video.  I tried to connect to a monitor via HDMI, but you still get black screen after trying the F4 key.  There is no beep codes or the upcoming diagnostic lights.  Before I lost the video, I had taken the laptop fan because there was a message that he did not work properly.  Turned out a screw was stuck in there.  I removed the screw and replace the fan in.  Everything closed and turned on the laptop - no video.  I tried to re-seating the RAM.  Basically, I would like to see if people think it's the motherboard or the video chip that is the question; in this case, I'm going to buy a new laptop because motherboard costs about $200.  Also if anyone knows if there is a diagnosis of material that I could run that might give some beep codes.  I think that Dell has something where you hold D down and power on the phone to start the diagnostics.  Full disclosure this laptop fell a few times as well, so this problem can only await the right time appear.

My monitor has started to go to the black screen at the "start". However if I it turn on and off several times, it starts to work and then that's fine. I tried to unplug all the power cables and turn on again but the problem persists.

Hi Syed, already tried reinstalling the video card. Came to the conclusion that it was a faulty monitor. Probably a dodgy relay or a dry joint? Bought a new monitor! Problem solved!

  • Monitor shows a black screen and "no sigal.

My compaq pressario turned slowly, so used fxdisk?, but who is stuck on 74% for more than 1 hour manually off computer. but when that I start now I get a black screen and the message "no signal."

I tried clicking on F8 nothing helps. any help to get my computer working again will be greatly appreciated.

the main problem is the signal of monitor at the moment.   without a method to view the data on the screen there is little we can do.

so the first initiative is: namely a signal.

first of all, double check your wires between the monitor and the computer and make sure they are securely attached and that they are not frayed or folded.   If you have a video card on the motherboard, then disconnect the monitor to it and connect it directly to the motherboard.

Secondly, after pressing the power button computers on the State on, try to access the bios of the computer.   wait about 3 seconds after you press the button and hold down the DELETE key, or press f10 to open the bios screen.

If bios opens then it looks like you have a video signal from the motherboard.  You can then exit without saving the changes.

But if you can not access the bios, then it's a problem.   Perhaps, there is a problem with the motherboard.

so check your computer manual or online manual your computer to verify that you have taken the right steps in trying to open up the bios screen.

second initiative: If the video signal is finally resolved, the next step will be to start with a xp installation cd.    This will bypass the faulty files on the hard drive system and allow you to run some commands in order to fix it.

  • Black glitter and LED monitor S2440L screen

I have a new LED monitor from Dell which flickers to a black screen during market for a few seconds and then turns back on. I can't understand why this happens. It happened when my monitor has been connected to the slot built in HDMI on my motherboard. And it always happens when I connect the monitor to the HDMI slot on my new NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 of ASUS graphics card that I bought recently. My motherboard is the ASUS P8Z68 - VLX running Windows 7 with an Intel i5 processor. DELL LED monitor is S2440L. Anyone experience this state of the black screen that comes at random on the time where to watch movies or even surf the net.

    Hello

I have the same problem as you with my L-2440. The screen flickers and sometimes it's curtains blackout for a few seconds. I think this problem for this monitor is not an isolated case, because many people complained the same problem.

I have noticed before I installed driver Dell and Dell monitors management program, this problem does not exist. Admittedly, I don't use 1 hour after the introduction if theres no way to be sure about that. Anyway I uninstalled both and use the driver default Windows (generic PnP monitor) and disable DDC/DCI under 'Other settings' in the configuration, monitor and now dancing lines are for the most part disappeared (sometimes but rarely sound still there), but black still happen.

After experience, it turns out that it is related to electrical installation of the dwelling. Whenever someone support some switch in my house (On or Off), the screen will be black without fault. Im sure this model in particular have some bad Earth or something since I have never experience such problem in previous Dell monitor that I own or any other device. Try it yourself and make people put the switch in your home.

I am awaiting response to Dell too because it is the time of 2md my monitor is replaced (totally busted S2320L and cannot be turned on) and Dell replaced by 2440L as the third replacement. Anyway Im afraid it will break the monitor sooner or later and I'm inclined to return it...

  • of the laptop and monitor external both go to a black screen

OK, I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L675D and monitor external lg I've used for more than a year. the problem I knew it is that when I turn on my external monitor both the monitor to the laptop and external monitor goes to a black screen and to get the office page I have to turn off the monitor external and in a few seconds, the computer desktop computer laptop monitor will reappear. Fault could be the problem?

    Hello

    1. What is the model of the LG external screen?

    2. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    3. have you installed all the updates on the computer?

    Method 1.

Connect the external monitor to a different computer and check if it works.

    Method 2.

I suggest to update the graphics drive and check if that helps.

Yes, the image expands, but you have the Source and monitors shrunk very small sizes n the screen capture program.

Was the clip defined when you merged and exit points?

(By the way, my post request 3 was on target.)  The video is considerably shorter than the audio, which represents a large part of the black you would see in the Source monitor.)
