2000 - 2dlawm: hard drive optimized dts check failed

My laptop has not worked for a month and there is no that get to the hp logo screen. I ran a thorough test of the system and the short dts disc hard check had a software error and dts check optimized hard drive has failed, with the failure of M09XWW-6T77QV-MFGJWK ID - 61 QT 03. I don't know if this means the entire hard drive failed and I need to replace it or I need to run more tests.

How can I find my model number or product number?

I understand that when you start your laptop it goes only to the HP logo and crashes.  You ran disk hard both large and short tests that came back with a software error and the optimization of hard drive tests failed with the error code...

It is an indication that the drive is defective and must be replaced.

Here is a link to HP Notebook PC - computer won't start (Windows 8) that can help.   The paper suggests that maybe help clean the vents in Notepad.  If after doing this, it starts normally I back up your data and then rerun the tests.

Are you able to get the HP logo you can try to start in safe mode to save your data to avoid loss.

HP computers - Windows Safe Mode (Windows, 10, 8)

Please contact HP support for service options.

If your laptop is not under warranty, you can also try a repairman or auto repair.  If you can access the Recovery Manager and you have not created a recovery media, I would now.

HP computers - performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system

HP computers - create a recovery Image on disc or save a recovery Image on a USB drive (Windows 8)

If you consider to do the repair yourself that I provided HP 2000 Notebook PC Compaq Presario CQ58 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide.    Chapter 3 page 21 has a list of recommended replacement drivers and Chapter 4 page 47 a removal and replacement procedures to help you make a decision.

If you don't have a recovery media and are unable to create, you will have to contact HP support to obtain a recovery kit.

Blue screen when turned Shredding system Quick Test indicates Hard Drive DST short check failed.  Can you please tell how I can proceed to restore the system to factory settings?

Of my experience so the BSOD computer and the hard disk does not have a DST short or long control, then the hard drive is faulty.

I advise to contact HP Technical Support if your product is still under warranty so that they can help you by replacing the hard drive.

If you want to just restore the system to the factory then when you press ESC once the system starts that there should be an option for recovery. This button must load the windows recovery environment for you to restore your device factory.

    Hello

Yes, you can use your friend recovery media in your. It should work.

I'm not able to find a recovery media for your model of third-party vendors too.

No, you can't create USB recovery by plugging the old drive as external references to another PC. You have to use HP application recovery manager supplied with your laptop and create a set. I think that you will not be able to do from a failing drive.

  • Satellite L750 - receive messages from ordinary this HARD drive is about to fail

    I have a laptop of PSK2YA - 04K 010 L750 Satellite.
I get regular messages that my hard drive is about to fail.
I backed up all my important stuff.
I did not the recovery discs until I started getting these messages.
I've been able to create a windows repair disc & also recorded an image of the hard drive on an external hard drive with no problem.

I bought and installed a Western Digital 750Go WD7500BPKT hard drive replacement.
I tried to do a system restore using the image I created on my external hard drive
"I get the following message appears a few seconds after the start of the reimage" the operation failed because of a device error encountered with the source or the destination. (0x8078012D)

I reassembled the original hard drive & make a set 4 DVD discs using the Toshiba Recovery shortcut.
I put the Western Digital drive HARD back in & run these discs. Disk1 ran right to the end, then put in disk2 wouldn't do anything, the drawer of the DVD would keep opening asking me to put in the disk.
Don't really know where to go now & am hoping to get a few ideas from people in the know or have been here before.

    HHHHeelp please

    > I tried to do a system recovery using the image I created on my external hard drive

How did you create this image?

    > I put the Western Digital drive HARD back in & run these discs. Disk1 ran right to the end, then put in disk2 wouldn't do anything, the drawer of the DVD would keep opening asking me to put in the disk.

It looks like the 2nd disc can be read correctly or the 2nd disc was not created correctly.

I first recommend you to clean the lens of the laser of the reader of CD/DVD alcohol or cotton tip.
Then try to run the installation by using the recovery disk once more.
In case this isn't possible, your recovery disk is defective.

If the recovery disk that is faulty, you have an option to order here:
    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

The 2nd option would be clean Microsoft Windows disk usage.
Missing drivers may be downloaded from the Toshiba UE driver page.

I think that the hard drive has failed.  This is the Troubleshooting section for the hard drive.  I suggest following the guide on the test it.  If she shows that it does not, your only option is to replace it.  Here's a guide to help you replace it.  You must make sure that the new hard drive is the same size or larger than the existing one.

  • HP 2000: Hard Drive DST short verification failed.

Hello. Since last Monday, my laptop froze on me, which forced me to hard stop. When I tried to turn it back on, it takes me to the HP logo with the rotation of the circle, but it doesn't take me anywhere. When I waited 5 minutes, a really quick blue screen pulls up with a sad face emoticon, saying: "your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart." We are only collecting the error information, and then we'll restart for you"(I took a photo of it the second time I restarted and this post pulled up to read since the message was for a second). So that it restarts and pulls up the HP logo with a message saying "automatic repair". After a few seconds, it brings me to a black screen that takes me anywhere I left on for about 2-3 hours (I had work) and she still had the black screen. I tried to go to Safe Mode, still need me "Auto repair" and black screens. I searched the Internet for help, one of them told to press F2 at startup so it can pull up a menu to analyze the material. When I went to System Tests > extended Test, it took 3 minutes or more to complete, saying that he failed. The information there was:

Hard Drive check short DST: FAILURE

    Failure ID: Q0ADB0-6RX7MQ-MFGJWK-60RW03
    Product ID: E0M14UA #ABA

I'm currently waiting on my repair disc since some sites it suggested before a factory restore. I really hope it is not a complete restoration, many of my school files and important data are there. The repair disk is going to help me, or is there another solution before a full restore? Thank you.

Edit: I was wondering if I actually do a full on my computer restore if all else fails, is still a possibility for me to back up my data, even if I can't get past the boot? Is it possible to do this action in the menu entry? As the menu of the BIOS, etc? If the material does not affect the memory, or if they are identical.

DST check: Fail = disk hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. If you are still in warranty HP will send a replacement. If this is not the case, a laptop SATA hard detail can be used. Just be sure to get a quality at least equal the original in order to use recovery disks. It may be big, but not small ability more. For example you have a > 500 GB hard drive , so that you could use a 750 GB but not a 320 GB hard drive.

Your files may be lost. The best hope to recover them will be to remove the drive hard, install it in one >USB HDD Enclosure, then plug it into the usb port of a working computer. If there is any life left in the drive, you should be able to go through it and copy files off the power on a hard drive of the host computer.

Your > & Maintenance Guide will help to remove/replace the hard drive.

    Hello

The error code 24 characters is a disk failure short self-test and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the problems you describe.

If you want to replace it yourself, it is quite inexpensive - a brief guide on this is below.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

The procedure to replace the hard drive starts on Page 54 of your maintenance & Service Guide.

As you have upgraded to Windows 10 and as long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after the upgrade, you can simply use another PC to create the installation media for Windows 10 and then perform a new installation - it is all detailed in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-clean-install-Windows-10/

Regarding the existing personal folders on the failed disk, one possibility would be to place it in an external enclosure - is an example of the link below - connect to another PC and see if you can access your files.

External 2.5 HARD drive caddy ".

    Hello

Your laptop is listed as coming with a HARD drive from 640 GB, but given that there is little difference in cost, you can replace this with a 750 GB option.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

750 GB hard drive for laptop.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 64 of your maintenance & Service Guide.

    ***************************************************************

Regarding the reinstallation of the operating system, you can create your own installer of Windows 7 USB drive flash as follows.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

Using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below--these Images are of a very respected source (Digital River).

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Once completed, use the Microsoft Tool on the following link to create a USB bootable Windows 7 installer - you will need a 4 GB flash for this drive.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

When creating, tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the Windows 7 flash player.  Select the Boot Options menu (usually f9).  Use the arrow keys to select the flash drive and press ENTER.

If your laptop will boot from it, use the flash player to perform the installation, enter the activation key for Windows on the label of the COA in the request and once the installation is complete, use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want just a new installation of Windows 7 without the software load extra normally delivered with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.
