2000 HP notebook PC login screen is frozen

The name of the product is the HP 2000 notebook PC and the operating system is Windows 8. I had installed automatic updates and after restart the login screen of the laptop froze. I could type my PIN in but nothing happened after that. I tried ctrl + alt + del and other buttons but nothing happened. I continued by restarting my computer, but it still did the same thing.

Hello Barney210, welcome to the Forums of HP.

It seems that when you try to connect to your laptop, you can enter the pin code, then the laptop freezes. I will try to help you with this.

I suggest to start with the following document:
Computer hangs or freezes (Windows 8).

Start with that and let me know how things are going.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • HP 2000-2c12NR Notebook PC: black screen on startup, enter BIOS or anything

I have HP a friend here. Not sure if it is Win8 32 or 64 bits. I'm not an expert on computers, but she asked me to look at.

When you start the screen is backlit but shows nothing. If I try the F keys, it displays a message in the lower left corner (as "F10... BIOS Setup Options"), but then crashes right here forever. No flashing lights, but the two LEDs on the left side are turned on, the power button is lit, the power adapter is turned on. The guts of the computer make good small noises from the computer at startup and then calm down to a low hum very quickly. If it sits for a while on the couch and heats up the fan kicks in more difficult as it is supposed to.

I tried doing a hard reset and reinstalling the RAM, hard drive and the CMOS battery. The only effect is after I reinstalled the CMOS battery and it gave me a message about it and hit enter to restart, I did, and then he just sat there again.

Unfortunately, remove and replace the battery RTC (CMOS) does that introduce risk. It is a method of the old school who does no more work with laptops. It still works with desktop computers.

According to the description you gave what you've done, you're roughly at the end of the road. There is nothing more you can do besides replacing the motherboard. I suspect that the current value of the laptop that is not a viable option. You can remove the hard drive, put it in a hard drive enclosure to connect to another PC and recover all its important data.

If the laptop is out of warranty, contact HP for assistance is not free. I would tell your friend that it may be time to buy a laptop to replace the one that no longer works. Sorry to give you bad news.

  • HP 2000 - 2b19WM Notebook PC: AMD graphic Driver fails repeatedly, and the PC often restarts itself...

I bought this laptop a few months, put it away in a corner and when is it coming out my old laptop broke. I got it at low cost, was handed to nine Windows 8 PC, I've updated to 8.1 in early December. I use this laptop heavily, I watch a lot of videos, and I kept meeting my good old friend, the green of death. I was familiar with it, that the pilot had failed several times on my other laptop as he grew older. However, this error occurs repeatedly. I'll see that I've got the greenscreen, I'll go to my office and opened to the top of the screen with all the drivers listed, click on the display of the maps section and open the graphical part of AMD. I'll click Update driver in the second tab to search for updated drivers. Each time on what he tells me that he has that no update, so I'll be back with the graphical part of AMD, click Update again and, this time, search the drivers already installed on my laptop. Currently, there are 2 AMD drivers available, both the AMD Radeon HD 6310 versions, one starting with a 12 and the other starting with a 13. No matter which version I coose, both only work for a few hours before I have to redo the procees.

ALSO, sometimes after update the graphics drivers, my laptop with just close and restart. He will sit on page load with the HP logo and the circle with doing the loading circle, but the page with disappear and appear again and do exactly the same thing. On several occasions. Finally, a blue screen appears which says I need to restore my laptop and the previous version. I click on the button to do it, and the screen returns to the page from loading except now, it not there no circle loading, just the HP logo. He's sitting like that for about 20-30 minutes before a blue screen appears stating that the laptop could not restore to the earleir version, and there is a button Advanced Options on the Advanced Options page there is a button that says exit and go from 8.1 to Windows, so I click on that and the computer restarts normally and I can use my laptop again.

SO I need someone to tell me how to stop the repeated appearance of greenscreen and (hopefully) tell me how to stop my computer to reboot (it did its shenanigan last night, and when I finally got my computer back to the start screen, my Word documents had disappeared completely. I even tried to restore all thatword documents recorded due to the closure forced the document, but nada for me) I'm afraid that I'll lose even more work and time to these problems, and I hope that someone can help me.

    Hi @SabrinaS,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your 2b10wm of 2000 HP Notebook PCs and laptops having problems with restore points. Two graphics drivers that you see listed and you restart the portable computer to uninstall.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that may need updating.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

Here is a document on assistance with the computer does not start. It gives you instructions step by step when you see the HP Logo screen.

What happens when you play a DVD?

What browser do you use? Here is a site that will check if your update.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you.

  • Vista freezes as user login screen boots

A few months ago, my Dell Inspiron 1720 frozen without any provocation. When I restarted it, it froze once more that the Windows logo appears and the user startup boting login screen. In order to clarify this does not happen during connection attempts, it happens before that anything on the computer is even affected once the login screen begins to load. Once he did that, the cylindrical blue light on the side that normally flashes while the computer is running flashing completely stopped. It's happened every time I tried to start the computer, even if it still starts in Mode safe with no problems. I tried running sfc/scannow in safe mode, however once the scan is completed, nothing happened, and the issue not resolved.

I thought that it would be the hard drive as it was 5 years old at this point. Once I replaced the hard drive, it seemed indeed to fix. However two months later the computer freezes in the uplogon initialization screen even once, is not the hard drive, after all.

I tried to use the windows installation DVD to use the Startup Repair tool, but it did not find any problem with the computer. I am quickly enough on the hope that I can fix this computer and am desperate for any type of solution other than "replace". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You have the right correction.

Since you last post, I read a thread in the Forums where the OP was bluescreening in Normal Mode and it turns out to be what you think your problem is too much, drivers network adapter...

He has installed the latest drivers for it, no more problems.

    Fingers crossed :)

    See you soon.

  • Login screen hangs

Hello.  Since I upgraded to macOS Sierra, my early 2015 MacBook Pro freezes on the login screen.  I tried clean install, reinstall, SMC reset, reset the NVRAM.  Nothing seems to help.  I can finally drag the cursor to the button stop, but it takes a while.  Once it starts up again it is fine... until I have restart or stop again.  Any thoughts?  Thank you.

Try to start in safe mode (hold down the key of the SIFT when starting) once or twice. The login screen freezes?

  • BONES of Sierra crashing to the LOGIN screen while using the service of mission control.

After Sierra OS upgrade my MacBook Pro hangs on login screen every time I have used the function of mission control.

    Hey hernj103,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. I can see your post after upgrading to Mac OS Sierra that reboots your MacBook Pro, if you use mission control. There could be a number of reasons that could cause this and I want to help you have a reliable working Mac, so I'm here to help! If you have not already done, you want to make sure that you have a backup of your data and you can use the option in the link below:

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

Once your data is secure, you'll want to test this function in Mode safe mode and see if you get the same effect. Safe mode (sometimes called secure boot) is a way to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks and prevents certain software from loading automatically or opening. Also, it verifies your startup disk and trying to fix problems if necessary directory and delete font caches, hiding the kernel and other files of the system cache. The following link can show you how to start your MacBook Pro in Mode safe.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

If you continue to have problems after the safe boot mode, let know us and we can continue to solve the problems there.

    See you soon.

  • Black login screen

When starting, a black login screen prevents my screen 4 K of login in. Computer must be stopped with force and restarted. Memory NVRAM/PRAM resetting has not helped.

It seems that it is a problem with the mac and display negotiate the appropriate resolution.

You can use the mac at all? After the reboot, does it work?

It works with a different view?

You can try to connect "blind"? It is possible that after a disconnection of the display and the figure of mac it. (Weird, I know; but it is not really difficult to connect even without the screen, if you know what position in the list, your account is just press the left or right arrow keys, enter, password, enter).

Maybe better, if you have access to another mac, use the screen sharing feature to connect; then go to system-> Display Preferences and try to choose a frame that works.

  • Message starts with the iMessage login screen

Mac OS X Sierra Message app starts with an iMessage login screen, however; When I get my good Apple ID and password, nothing happens.  When I enter incorrect information, it appears with a red warning text indicating that Apple & /or password ID are incorrect.

How to past the login screen?  My information is correct, but the program will not always be in front of the login screen

    Hello

He was working before you upgrade to the Sierra?

No chance that your logic/mother Board has been replaced?

This keeps the serial number of the Mac and is used to provide a specific connection of the device.

Go to the Menu icon Apple and select about this Mac.

Tab preview is to display the serial number.  (if this is not you must go to an Apple Store or the repairer so it will be again).

Go to the menu icon Apple once again, but hold down the ALT key and select System Info.

Open Hardware > network > locations

The list on the right list en0 for one of your connections?

On the old Mac en0 was Ethernet and Wi - Fi and Thunderbolt on newer Gets the following figures.

There are some Mac without Ethernet en0 so can Wifi

You can also look in Applications/Utilities and open the network utility and use the Info tab and fall down.

Is missing the en0 then you need to remove some system side .plists and restart the Mac.

I saw some information to remove all these

Note the path bar across the bottom.

Simply remove the Airport (WiFi), one maybe.

If they did not work, then after that the appeal of Apple process is lengthy to explain.

(you can get blocked by devices and this requires the server reset on your Apple ID on a single device)

  • iMac returns to the login screen once logged on 10.11.6 version

After you install the update for El Capitan 10.11.6 my iMac (21.5 "mid-2010) returns to just login screen after I connect.  The disc is fine and the permissions are correct.  I can start safe mode and connect without problems.  Any ideas?

    Greetings JPfromFairfield,

Thanks for your post. I see that your Mac goes back to the login screen after you connected. You mentioned that you have done to ensure that the disc is fine and the permissions are good. Those who are very advanced. I know how much I rely on my Mac so I'll be more than happy to help.

With your computer is able to start properly in Mode safe, this indicates that there may be a third-party service that is causing problems. I have some articles for you to check.

OS X El Capitan: If you have problems with startup items

OS X El Capitan: login users & groups preferences pane items

You can remove all items start and the login items, and then test to see if you can boot normally, if you can, you can add one item at a time and continue his tests to see how the origin of the problem.

    Take care!

  • How to you turn off the user invited on the login screen?

How do disable you the guest user account on the login screen?

Basically, I have a brand new Macbook, but can't for the life of me figure out how to get rid of the guest user account.

    Summary:

    • MacBook 2016
    • El Capitan 10.11.6
    • FileVault is enabled
    • Find my Mac is disabled
    • Comments User in users and groups is set to Off

Tried the following from another forum:

    1. make sure that 'find my Mac' and guest user are disabled, restart;

    2. check if the system integrity Protection is enabled or disabled by running: csrutil status to the Terminal.

3 if she says ' Protection of the integrity of system status: activated. "go to 4.1.

    4. If not, only 4.4 and 4.7;

4.1 restart in "Recovery Mode": stop and hold command + R after pressing the power button.

4.2 go in "utilities > Terminal" and run the command: csrutil disable.

    4.3 restart;

    4.4 open the Terminal and run: sudo touch /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/EFILogin.framework/Resources/EFIResourceBuild er.bundle/Contents/Resources, this will force the update of the connection EFI;

4.5 reboot (again) in "Recovery Mode": stop and hold command + R after pressing the power button.

    4.6 go in "utilities > Terminal" and run the command: Activate csrutil;

    4.7 reboot and it's fixed!

4.8 re activate 'Find my Mac' as you wish.

    • FileVault is enabled

You cannot disable the Guest user. This is especially in the case where you cannot unlock your hard drive. It provides a limited capacity of Safari so that you can access the services of help on the internet.

  • Login screen of the MacBook is weird.

Hello! Login screen of my computer is weird. The colors are darker and the cursor moves more slowly than usual. Everything started after I updated my MacBook (retina, 12 inch, early 2015) to OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Everyone knows about this problem? Is it possible to fix it?

If that had happened to me, I would try Safe Mode boot because that passes through a few additional system checks.

  • New Mail notification to appear in my Windows account login screen, peux I turn this off?

I started using Thunderbird for my email because I am so sick of "Comcast/Xfinity" unwanted advertising and dumping else on my computer when I just want to make my Comcast email. I've customized email Thunderbird (options, etc.) to display the way I want. However, I use a shared computer I put in place will have to connect to multiple user accounts or the Admin and now T-Bird puts in place a notification on my user account (on the Windows login screen) of new e-mail arriving and how many new emails I have. I don't necessarily want other users to see if I have new messages and the number of new messages I. Is there a way to disable this "feature"? I don't see any option in the tools of T-Bird.
