Yes it is possible. Just be sure to get the DDR3L (low voltage - 1.35v) PC3-12800, also known as DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM memory like this:

  • HP 15 Notebook TS (15-r220cy: upgrading RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB)

I want to upgrade my laptop 4 GB to 8 GB.  I do understand that there are only some 1 slot available.  I'm ready to replace the 4 GB module with a module of 8 GB.  Has anyone made this process.  If so could you please give me some details such as the module of memory used etc.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  -Wayne

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Your repair manuals

Unfortunately, yours is one of the models that don't have easy access to upgrading the door. The upgrade of memory means remove the motherboard. See page 76. It is possible to do, but endangers security. If you want to continue, however, after return and there are a few videos we link that show how do and maybe you can find a portable computer technician ready to help. The memory that you would use is this HP part number:

    8 GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) 693374-005

It is a compatible module on amazon.com:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-1600MHz-PC3-12800-KVR16LS11/DP/B00CQ35HBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1434662099&SR=8-1&keywords=693374-005

  • HP 255 G4 Notebook PC: How to upgrade RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB on laptop HP 255 G4

I would like to know how to upgrade my RAM 8 GB on my laptop HP 255 G4.

    REPAIR:

    Manual

    See page 44 for "how-to".

    Add one of them:

    4 GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) 691740-005

    https://www.Amazon.com/HP-691740-001-1600MHz-PC3L-12800-memory/DP/B00CI08FX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1466629940 & SR = 8-1 & Keywords = 691740-005

That will take you from 4 to 8 GB. Technically, this procedure will be to endanger the guarantee, but it is not terribly hard to do. Remove the bottom cover and the locations of memory are there. If you choose to move forward and to do so, be careful and closely follow the manual because there are a lot of screws.

  • Upgrade RAM laptop YOU 2000-2201

I have a you Notebook 2000-2201. I wanted to know the full specifications of the default 2 GB of RAM and the suggestions to improve my amount of RAM.
And if I should go for a RAM including the configuration of the same manufacturer as the original or not.

    Hi @Jidav ,

No, it is recommended to keep the RAM, same 2 4.

    Thank you.

  • upgrade RAM laptop hp laptop ze1000 series

    * Sorry - I posted in the wrong topic... should have been under updates & replacements *.

I have a laptop series (F5400HR) ze1000 HP running Windows XP Edition sp2 family.

It has 512 MB of RAM for the moment (two 256 MB cards).  My manual says I can go to 1 GB (with two 512 MB cards). Information about the hardware on my computer tells me that I can do the same thing.  But when I look at online, many Web sites that offer upgrades I can only go to 512 MB.  Please, can someone tell me who he is?

(I have problems upgrading to modern versions of things like anti-virus and programs explore 8 literally frozen out loud (I'm on IE 7).)  The latest version of Avast I downloaded everything froze.  I think more RAM might I want to hang on to this computer a little longer... I just can't afford a new computer right now.)

    Thank you!

It certainly is the maximum of 1 GB:

    Manual

    See page 12.

These (PC133 SO-DIMM) modules are stupid expensive by mainline channels but 10 dollars each, shipped on eBay:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/512MB-SDRAM-memory-RAM-PC133-SODIMM-144-pin-133MHZ-/140508505878?PT=US_Memory_RAM_&hash=item20b6f5a716

To test Avira Antivirus... it's a little lighter than Avast but still works well. Be sure and turn off hardware graphics rendering in the web browser since you have the video Via ProSavage antique who is simply not make the modern internet and post barely a DVD correctly.

    1. remove the screws from the bottom of the laptop.

    2. you will see two RAM as in the link above.

    3. carefully remove the slot and insert your new RAM.

    4. make sure that the new RAM is inserted properly

    Hi Avandre,

Yes, you can upgrade hardware components. Because it is a laptop, you may need to contact the manufacturers of computers for the options available or compatible devices.

  • Pavilion dv6-3225dx: laptop fails to boot after upgrading RAM.

    Hello

Recently, I tried upgrading my laptop RAM 8 GB which is max you may have to wait. The RAM sticks were (x 2) DDR3 4 GB Samsung 1600 12800 mhz 1.35v. The system has detected the new RAM, showed the new memory and even spent the memory test. But this isn't the windows startup. I tried to clear CMOS. But without success. Do not let me windows. BIOS version is up to date (F29). Is there any setting for this?

    Thanks for all the help!

    Hello:

Please see this discussion.  It must be very picky about what memory you use in your model series...

  • HP ProBook 6550 portable PC b: Re: RAM laptop HP ProBook 6550 b Upgrade issues.

Info on my ProBook 6550 b HP PC:

    Intel Celeron P4600 @ 2.00GHz CPU 2.00 GHz

    2 x 1 GB RAM (1.86 GB usable)

System type: 64 - bit operating system.

    Windows Pro 10.

Query: I bought 2 x 4 GB RAM DDR3 1333 MHz 204-pin SODIMM Unbuffered of CCL Computers Ltd. After searching for the correct specifications on here to upgrade my RAM.

I installed this new RAM carefully and booted up my laptop, only to be greeted by a blank screen / black.  I have re-installed the new RAM and rebooted my laptop, leading to the same result.

I contacted CCL Computers Ltd, who recommended that I return the RAM to them for testing. However, they also mentioned that I should contact the constructor (HP) and ask them - your "QVL" (list of qualified suppliers) for successfully piloted ~ known RAM.

So, with the above in mind, can you recommend a tested / experienced 4 GB of RAM running on my laptop, please?

Already mentioned somewhere on one of these forum pages for "Corsair DDR3 4 GB of RAM of the laptop (CMSO4GX3M1A1600C11)"

I'm also upgrading my laptop to SSD HARD drive.  I visited your forum pages and read that an SSD with a capacity of 250 GB is the optimum size.  Can anyone offer any known SSD fact / correctly upgraded for a laptop of my setup, please?   (See the top of this message to my HP ProBook specifications.)

Looked at your comments and recommendations will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot waiting for your answer.

  • HP 240 G3 laptop: HP 240 mobile G3 Upgrade RAM help

    Hello!

I just bought a HP 240 G3 laptop and want to upgrade RAM 8 GB.

Here are the specs of the laptop of HP support assistant:

Model: HP 240 G3 Notebook PC

    Product no.: M1V30PA #ACJ

    Processor: Intel (r) Pentium (r) CPU N3540 2.16 GHz

    OS: Win 8.1

Current RAM: 2GB Hynix Semiconductor 1333 MHz (DDR3)

Can I go to a 8 GB Transcend 1600 MHz, or should I just get 1333 MHz?

Laptop computer supports up to 8 GB according to the directives of the brochure of the seller.

There is only a single slot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    See you soon.

    Here is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

Actually, the manual says if I just read that Trail Bay models have 2 memory slots. I am skeptical. Is yours have a coverage of service for memory? If this isn't the case, it will require removal of the motherboard to access.

It seems that DDR3L-1600 memory is compatible with all versions of this model of laptop, even if some will be downclock at 1333.

The official number of HP for a 8 GB module is:

    8 GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) 693374-001

It is the 15-n233sl model and the plug you have 6 GB. See page 42 of the manual here:

    Repair manuals

The manual indicates that it takes up to 12 GB which is a 4 GB and 8 GB module to the module but regularly, users have reported success with 2 x 8 GB for a total of 16 concerts. For most of the users 8 GB is a lot and it would mean just remove the module from 2 gig you have now and its replacement by a 4 GB. What that you choose to do I would have 2 modules size even for enable support dual channel. 8 concerts running dual channel is likely to be just as good as 12 concerts running in single channel due to incompatible modules.
