2007 Macbook Pro Wifi stopped working

Out of the blue, the Wifi on my 2007 MacBook Pro has stopped working.  He said "turn wireless on" and the button lights for click, but when I click, nothing happens. Went to the Network Diagnostics and did the same thing - same result.  Guess the airport card is shot.  Nothing else to try?

Thank you, Mary

  • Keyboard on a 2013 MacBook Pro has stopped working

Hello world! So, a couple of months ago I accidentally spilled some coffee on a corner of my MacBook (and it was really just a little) and the same day, the keyboard no longer responds. I didn't really know what to do so I checked what people on the Internet said, I tried to reset it in safe mode and was a success, but it does nothing. Then, after a week or two, a few buttons (only 2 or 3) has started working again, others were still unresponsive. So I decided to give finally the laptop for service guys, and now they are asking a huge amount of money, because there are critical failures in the hard drive (it's what they say at least). The thing is, before I gave them the * thing I fixed and there is no fault whatsoever, this is why I would like to know, if they tell the truth and that I should have the hard drive has changed, or are they just trying to get as much money as possible.

    Thanks in advance!

  • 2007 MacBook Pro 3.1 internal superdrive does not

I have a 2007 MacBook Pro 3.1 which is super slow.  I've recently updated the RAM 6 GB (the maximum allowed), swapped the HD internal SSD and also replaced the internal superdrive, which had ceased to function.  I did a clean install of El Capitan, after all has been toggled.  Everything seems to work fine except for the internal superdrive.  When I put a CD in, it started to turn a little but then he just fell silent, and I can't even eject the disc.  I tried the F12 key and the manual button on the top right of the keyboard.  I thought that perhaps I do not connect the cable correctly, but the fact he took the disc and began to turn, indicates the connection is good.  Whenever I restart the computer or wake from sleep, I hear the disc turns, but it stops after about a minute.  I don't see any picture of a CD mounted on the desktop.  Also, I don't see the icon of CD & DVD under system preferences.  I wonder if Miss me a driver or an extension for a CD/DVD drive.  I have a defective superdrive drive or is it a software problem?

Sounds like a bad drive or Superdrive cable

  • Omen of HP 15: Wifi stop working. Win10 shows only a single network and it connects to the WiFi

    Hi guys,.
Since a few days my wifi stopped working.
If I click the Wifi icon it shows only a SINGLE NETWORK (two maximum), but not mine!

And I live in a building of 20 + networks, as you can see on the WiFi Analyzer (I'm the only red to the right)

If I reactive / disable Wifi with fn + f12, it goes back in plane and Wifi mode mode and sees it eventually all networks:

My Wifi is on top. If it is registered, Windows connects to it and then she abandons the connection; If it is not registered, and I try to connect, it says "you are not able to connect to this network.
Is fun is that after a few seconds, each network disappears and alone is shown (probably the one next door... I don't know).

I already tried to RESET the laptop MATERIAL by keeping the power button for 10-15 seconds with the laptop is turned off.
I tried to follow these instructions (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04649175) updated drivers (Intel 18.12.0.3, 18.12.1.2, 18.30.0.9 [10 default Windows], 18.32.0 [last drivers]) without success. Whenever I have install a new driver, I uninstalled the earlier software Wireless + restart.

I tried to uncheked "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" on my settings of Wifi hardware without success.

HP network support said that I did not choose a Wifi (really? The problem is that I do not see my Wifi on the list!).

This is unrelated to a new 10 Windows upgrade since I installed it months ago and this is the first time I have this problem :/ It has always worked

    I tried different settings too:
I changed the channel, I put 802.11 g on my router, APSD off on the router.
I put "Magic off packet, QoS ad hoc off, U-APSD off, fat wide channel, differential flow mode HT off" on the creation of the map without success. Nothing chaned.

The hardware test detects any failure.

Important note: If I close the router, it shows my network connection with full power and he connects to it. Then I come back in my room (probably 3/4 meters away), it MAINTAINS the connection for 30 / 40 min and he drops the connection and I cannot reconnect to it more. It has always worked perfectly in my room during these months (I bought it in March 2015), so the distance is not a problem, I'm 6 / 7 m away from the router.
In this case, it shows my network (connected) and the nearby... and the other 20 networks +?

The only way I have is USB tethering with my Nexus 5.

Linux: I tried the WiFi on Freya elementary (Ubuntu linux OS base) and it displays 20 + networks available on the list. He has not the connection problem with my Wifi, but sometimes it stops working, Web pages stop loading and I have to restart Wifi to reconnect to the it (usually after 30/40 min of use it).

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is the problem? My Wifi card is broken? Should I call Italian support or if you have any suggestions?

    WAWood,
    I took a risk.
I did a factory restore with recovery HP (I have a drive dedicated for her)... and it worked!
I had to switch from Win8.1 to 10, but the Wifi problem is solved!

I'm still guessing that was the problem...

Now, I'm under Intel drivers 18.30.0.9 worm and all the networks work.

In the next few days I'm checking the linux problem (reset deleted primary partition).

  • WiFi stopped working

We're both 73 years old so not savvy with laptops, etc.

our wifi stopped working, but he works hard cable

does anyone know what has happened and how we can fix it, please

    Hi Joyce,

Let me see if I can help you through this...

The problem lies in the configuration 'power options' in the 'control panel' as some changes simple to do to correct the problem.

I have written instructions as well as provided photos of each step - please see the pictures for a better understanding.

    Good,

    1. click on the 'Control Panel' then icon in the Control Panel window opens.

    2. at the top right of the search window "" view by: category " you will see a small arrow pointing down next to the word 'Category' - click with your mouse as 2 more options will appear in a menu drop-down."

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B5B...JTQXNEMUk/view

    3. click on the option "large icons" you will then see a lot more features in the control panel are displayed.

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B5B...ZGSVB0Zm8/view

    4. scroll the words 'Power Options' and click on it that a new window will open.

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B5B...pTTmZBTXM/view

    5. you will see 2 options here - if not click the drop down arrow in the center of the page to reveal the words - 'Balanced' & 'High Performance '.

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B5B...dpVzVHT0U/view

You should see a small circle checked next to the word "Balanced" - you need to change this setting by clicking on the 'High Performance' next option to fix the wifi issue.

Once you have completed these steps: close the window and test your wifi to see if that fixes the problem - if it isn't trying to "Reboot" or "Restart" your laptop and retest the wifi.

Joyce, please report it here in case of problems you may encounter and need assistance.
Also please report back here if this corrects the problem of wifi.

    Aloha,

My first pro works well until today... When you download a .avi file, I have the "Premiere Pro has stopped working" message and crashed.  I've updated to the latest version, (although I reloaded just the program last week when I replaced my computer with a brand new) I also CC on my laptop when I travel so I tried pulling up on this version and the same issue.  I've used these before files in Premiere Pro - what the hell happened?

  • WiFi stop working on my Inspiron 1525 after installing Windows updates

Updates of Windows installed a few days and wifi, stop working. I uninstalled the windows updates since that day, updated the WLAN driver and even updated my BIOS, and nothing seems to solve the problem. He says I'm on local access only, but when I connect to a modem, I have still no internet to diagnose problems. Any help would be great!

If possible, try to connect to a different wireless network and see if you continue to have the problem.  If you have other systems that connect to your network that aren't problems check everything their network settings and make sure that there are no differences on your system.

Try the safe mode with networking, (hold the SHIFT key down while clicking on restart and then choose Safe mode with network) once in failure of Windows to see if you can connect.

Check power settings, simultaneously press the windows key and x and select Device Manager, look for the wireless card and double click it, choose the power management tab and delete control "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and then try to connect.

Change the power plan to high performance, press the Windows key and the X set button again and choose power options, power management has chosen and select high-performance, plug in the AC adapter and the wireless card test.

Please reply back with the results and if you can what Windows updates has been downloaded.

  • MacBook Pro wifi hardware not installed after update of El Capitan

    Hello

I connected my macbook this morning to find that I had a gray wifi symbol with an x through it saying ' wifi: no hardware installed '. I'm taking in the Apple Store to be looked at in a few days, but only I was wondering if anyone in this community has experienced a similar issue that has an easy solution so that I can return to the top and run. It worked all fine until this morning.

Ive updated to El Capitan - 10.11.1

I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch retina end 2012

    Thanks in advance

This means that the two Wi - Fi drivers are damaged or that your wireless card has stopped working.

A good way to find out what the problem is to start up in OS X Recovery in now pressed the command keys so much R during start up your Mac to the top. Once your Mac is turned on, look at the Wi - Fi icon in the upper right and see if you can choose any Wi - Fi network. If so, reinstall OS X.

However, if you can not choose any network, it is probably a hardware problem, so you have to take your Mac to an Apple Retail Store or dealer to get the Wi - Fi card replaced.

  • Cannot install OS (10.6.3) on 2007 MacBook Pro.

    Hello world!

Since my Macbook Air drowned, I bought a MacBook Pro opportunity. The previous owner completely wiped off everything so there is no operating system when booting it shows only the folder with the question mark.

We are talking MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.4 15 "Mid / late 2007, A1226.

As far as I understand and my extensive research, this machine should run Snow Leopard and even the latest Mac OS. So, I bought a Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD installation online. When I start the MacBook Pro and insert the DVD, nothing happens. I tried all combinations of button Option button C, command + R etc. It seems he's trying to play the DVD but it spits out once again, then I get the folder with question mark agaon.

Am I missing something here? Am I pressing the wrong keys? I didn't have the DVD with the original MacBook Pro to install and hope to get a recent OS installed.

Any help is very appreciated! Thank you!

    Richard

The Snow Leopard disc should be white.  If it is gray, it won't work.

If the DVD is white, it may be damaged or DVD drive is malfunctioning.

You can test the DVD on a MBP it's 2009 or older.  Also test with an external DVD drive.

    Ciao.

  • MacBook Pro Fan not working

I have a mid-2014 13 "MacBook Pro retina and El Capitan running - my fan has stopped working and it gets very hot. It just started today. I noticed, that he had been getting hot in the last months, especially if I watched the video on a browser in addition to Safari, but the fan is still come to cool. This is not the case now.

I did a SMC reset. Someone at - it any other suggestions?

    Thank you!

You could try The Apple Hardware Test.  You should probably take the MBP at home.

  • Damaged liquids Macbook Pro 2012 still works?

    (sort of long story)

In January I spilled the iced coffee at the hinge of my 2012 MacBookPro. I immediately turned upside down and tried to wipe off iced coffee as well and comes off my MacBook as possible. I thought that it worked because my macbook was not turn off or do anything funny - in fact, he was always in charge and I continued to watch Netflix. However, about 5 minutes later, my macbook suddenly stopped charging and he died. Shortly after the incident, I took my macbook to the Apple local store. They said that iced coffee has been the "brain" of my computer, he had "done for", and that I should just buy a new one on the spot. (Panicking because I am a broke student) Explained that this wasn't an option for me at this moment, I have so I bought a PC-bleh.

In April, I was bored and randomly, I decided to plug in my liquid damaged macbook and see if it would work. I heard the startup sound and the screen turned white with the little Apple in the Center display. (freaking out even once) I took it to the Apple store (again). This time, they said it was only a matter of time until my macbook stops working completely. Shortly after that, I ended up buying a Macbook of Rosegold 2016.

However, every now and then I'll try to use my 2012 pro. I found that it only works when it is plugged, and it is INCREDIBLY slow. Is there any way I can speed up besides cleaning of space on my hard drive, etc. ? It is slow due to the liquid damage? How long should I expect it still works?

If it works only when it is connected to the charger and is slow indicate that the battery is dead or disconnected.  A Mac that does not detect a battery of operation will be throttle the CPU.  Check the battery and see if it is working.  Maybe that's the problem.

When a Mac is baptized, the first thing that must be done is to turn it off.  If it goes out, it's a very, very bad sign and indicates that there has been a short circuit and part of the Mac has been fried.  I do not hold much hope for your MBP.

    Ciao.

Trick/Tip: Open GarageBand if installed then, open a program (optional).

    =====================

    Repair Mac mysteriously mute

The background on the issue, is that there is a switch small sensor inside the plug headphones. When you insert a headphone jack, the sensor includes what is what and changes the setting of audio output for headphones. If you insert a jack for digital audio output, the unit switches to digital output. When you completely remove the plug, it should read the internal speakers.

The spirits tell me that there is a very good chance that you recently had something hostage in this port, a set of headphones or a cable leading to powered speakers, for example. When you remove the plug, something in the port have prevented triggering sensor properly. That's why you see Digital Out instead of the internal speakers.

The solution is to force the sensor to do its job. The safest way to do this is to simply run a plug in and out of the port, a few times. A large part of the time, this takes care of the problem by triggering sensor correctly. If this does not work, there may be dirt in the port. Before moving on to more invasive techniques, get a can of compressed air, plug the small tube which corresponds to the nozzle and the breath to air a few shots in the lane. With a little luck, should dislodge dirt and the port will operate as it should.

If this does not work, find a swab to foam tip that fits (electronics stores generally carry), dip it in rubbing alcohol and insert gently into the helmet in an attempt to wipe any tenacious dirt. I recommend foam rather than cotton fleece because the variety of cotton could leave the son behind. (This same technique works well with the bad conduct of ports from headphone output on devices such as iOS devices).

It is possible that dirt has nothing to do with it. On the contrary, it may be that the switch should just a subtle help. If a socket or a buffer does not work, I have heard people resetting successfully with a deft poke with a toothpick.
