2012 15 "rMBP brick; GPU card or logic? Help!

Hi all

I have a rMBP 15 "launch of 2012 which seems to have bricked this morning. I was working on when he suddenly stopped (the screen turns off suddenly). After that, the power button seemed only intermittently sensitive.

Now the computer does not completely; whenever he begins to start, it stops again over the Apple logo/initial progress bar.  Reset the PRAM and other tests have failed. Start in safe mode gives the same results.

What could happen? My old MBP 2008 suffered the same problem, and it turned to be a reminder on the graphics card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I do not have a Clipboard for a computer.

    Hello

    My motherboard: ASUS USB-A/Z97 3.1

I wonder if it would be better to use the Integrated GPU or a GPU card. The resolution on the GPU on board seems to be better than the resolution on my GPU card. Onboard HDMI resolution is 4096 x 2160, considering the resolution on my GPU card tops out at 1020 x 1080. Which should I use? My card is an AMD Radeon HD series 7800 GPU.

    Thanks a bunch...

    Hello

    AMD Radeon HD series 7800 GPU = maximum resolution: 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz per screen.

    So, there is a driver issue;

Check with Support ATI/AMD, their drivers and documentation online and ask for their
Forums about known issues with this model of video card.

Compare specifications (which aren't bad on either, well the AMD card has the better.)
Also ask in the forums of ATI/AMD.

  • "PP can now take full advantage of the PC with several GPU cards for export substantially accelerated time"

On the features page Adobe clearly shows:

    Export multiple GPU support

Premiere Pro can now take full advantage of computers with multiple GPU cards for export substantially accelerated time. Rendering and compression just got a whole lot faster.

Can someone PLEASE be very specific as to how it works with the new 2015 CC?  I just bought my 2nd GTX 970 and SLI it had.  Now I read a lot of conflicting testimony online and can't seem to get a straight answer.  Please don't refer either items that are either outdated or forums.  Adobe CC 2015 was just released there not too long ago, which is what this new feature.

Is having two 970's beneficial for first use SLI and AE?  Can I use the SLI bridge or not?   Can I turn in NVIDIA SLI Control Panel?  Or did I frankly just lose $330?

Any educated idea would be GREATLY appreciated to help relieve this anxiety.  Thank you...

Eric Bowen of computers ADK is frequently here on this forum, and with Bill Gehrke, can give you the best technique advises compared to your current and future workflow exact. Change style and which codecs you use are very important.

Given that you JUST improved don't panic... There are a few simple adjustments, you can do to get the most out of your current equipment.

    1. make sure your Samsung 850 pro has ONLY your operating system, programs and Windows swap file on it... nothing more. Turn off "Indexing" for all your disks in the system. You will need a separate and quick 'reader' for ALL your other files (images, previews, projects, export, media cache and cache files). The IDEAL reader for this is the new SSD Samsung SM951 PCI, which runs more than 1.5 GB/s.  The performance is going to be super fast. the use of this drive, but its capacity is LIMITED. You would then be advised to add drive hard level of large companies 'offload' all files to the guard. These recent hard drives crashed at 200 MB/s with a 128 MB cache on them and go up to at least 6 TB of size... they are not expensive.

    2. your CPU is designed to be overclocked... TAKE ADVANTAGE of that and try to get the highest stable frequency, you can with it, ensuring that you use a good cooling solution--probably water. Performance will get a significant boost of this MOST important factor.  Of course, your CPU has "only' '8 processors" with hyperthreading from the end superior Haswell E CPUs that can give you sixteen YEARS... but, SPEED of CPU CLOCK is KING and will affect your performance because MOST of the video are processed ONLY with the CPU. NVidia GPU support will BE GREATLY whenever SPECIFIC on your timeline functions are those which can be CUDA accelerated... i. e "scaling", "ultra key", "dissolves" and a host of effects and other features. When it is the GPU CAN speed up the heavy calendar saturated with CUDA effects by a factor of TEN TIMES when "made this preview," or, "exporting media" your CPU has a stock speed of 3.6 Ghz and will be turbo up to 3.8 on all 4 cores. MANY users are overclocking your processor to a stable 4.7 Ghz... Some are more than 5 GHz! You can see that an increase of a full Ghz would give you about 20-25% performance... it's a LOT!

It has been said here on this forum that once the processor is more than 4 GHz, it's OK even to 4K.

However, I've ALSO seen here, (Eric, I think), that certain types of 4K really needs to have a GPU that has a minimum of 4 GB of memory DDR5 video memory due to "frame problem", or "frame buffer".    Thus, a return of the 970 s and KEEP one, (if it has 4 GB of video memory or more). Use the return to SM 951 drive.

    3. make sure all your settings are properly defined. In Windows, power settings make sure that all settings are for OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE so that Windows reduce NOT anything automatically... I learned this lesson on my laptop... the DEFAULT settings have been throttling the CPU and the GPU all the time until I fixed it!

Then, first, make sure that you have the correct settings to allocate the amount of memory for first use... Eric has said here, it should be at least 3 GB by thread (I think... it can called ' base'...) I forgot). In YOUR case it means assign 24 GB of system memory for first, (8 'threads' x 3 = 24 GB). The rest can be defined for use in 'other programmes' of course, you can experiment and increase the amount of 3.5 or another higher.

    4. do not panic... Bill and I have the same laptops Asus who two years now with the 765 m 2 GB NVidia GPU in them and the HQ of 4700 i7 CPU. We shitcanned included and 5400 RPM hard drive and we both installed two quality SATA III SSD in each of the two hard drive bays. We also each increased the memory of the laptop to 24 GB. Bill has already done a few projects 4K basic on his laptop and I have experimented with 4K on mine. On my laptop, basic editing is not a problem with 4K, but addition of video tracks and effects slowing it... However, the chronology which fixes not making it. YOUR machine correctly overclocked, with more memory than we and a SM 951 and a GPU 970 should do very WELL at the moment... I think.   Unless you want to spend 4 to 5 $000 on a new machine of Haswell E X 99!

p.s. If you are working with 4K and 1080 p quality, you need a couple of good monitors. I recently bought TWO 27 inch Acer IPS monitors that are WQHD, or, 2560 x 1440 p in the resolution. They were rated very high in addition to a review and are IPS... the density of pixels is IDEAL... to 27 inches, 1440 p video looks LIKE 4 K!   The quality of the color and the image is amazing. My laptop powers BOTH monitors at full resolution! We use HDMI 1.4 and the other the 'mini displayport' 1.1 connection... (which is also called Thunderbolt version 1). This monitor is only $200 on the egg, (including a $50 discount). Others in this class are 6 to 7 cents.

  • GPU cards. AE CC2015. Recognition of the cards.

I have a 4 GPU card work platform, with the last titan X nvidia cards. For some reason, I feel no improvement over the performance of the AE CC 2015. Also on the preferences of the AE CC 2015 software recon 4 cards, but the limit to the vram is just 12 GB. ! All I have to do? Do I have to check some settings outside software, perhaps on the nvidia Control Panel, etc.?

I'd appreciate advice so I can take advantage of the system I have.

    See you soon.

  • Question on performance when you are adding a second GPU card

    Hi all.

I'm in first Pro CC 7.2.1 for Windows and want to add a second GPU card (have a GTX-760 now, so I want to add a second card as well).

I know that the PP CC can use multiple GPU cards during export (not reading) is great! ... but what I want to know is If it also several GPU is used when creating previews too (I mean when rendering effects in the work area of the sequence by pressing Enter key).

It is important for me to know if the two GPU will do this task (I do a lot with full-HD images). Thank you that much ahead of you guys.

Rendering is the term used when talking about creating preview files, then Yes.

  • A 4 GB GPU card offers advantages over a 2 GB with first version?

Is there an advantage to using a GPU card with more than the typical 2 GB memory on board during the first use and after effects CC?

Yes, if the resolution is more than 2 K then fine DISPLACEMENT 3 + GB of ram on the card. Some Applications with GPU acceleration suggest 4 GB of ram or more for the GPU with 4K. The effects of acceleration will be a greater use of the ram with higher resolution frames, this is also a reason.

  • Kernel Panic 2012 15 "rMBP

I got a kernel panic since I upgraded to OS X El Capitan and downloaded Parallels for Windows 10. Kernel panics occur even if I have not opened Parallels. Kernel panics seem to happen when I use safari or chrome. Sometimes, I can use my computer for hours without one panic - other times, I can only use it for about 10 minutes until another accident. I know mid-2012 rMBP have a history of related hardware graphics card failure, but I brought my MBP to an apple store for the diagnostic test to verify this and my computer has passed the test, indicating that it was not done by this problem. I would appreciate it if I could get help with this question.

  • HP Compaq Elite 8200: Running a Radeon HD 5850 on a GPU card HP mother, 1495

I will stay at the home of a relative for the next few months, and I was wondering if it is possible to install my graphics card (Radeon HD 5850) on their pre-built HP computer. I won't be able to physically test the situation until it is too late to make my card more, so I wanted to check first.

The model number of the computer is XZ971UT #ABA, and his mother is a HP 1495. This Board has a PCI-E slot? Do I need any special driver to install an AMD GPU? And the card will physically fit in the case?

If you can answer any of these questions, it will be a great help. Thank you!

    @_eternal, welcome to the forum.

Here is the computer Service and Maintenance Guide .  From the 43 Page is a list of supported video cards.

HP Small Form Factor computers require a low profile video card.  Here is an example of a card that is recommended for this.  In addition, I don't think that the power supply unit (PSU) in the computer either enough power to run if he would do.

  • Buy what GPU - NVidia GeForce 480 or a cheap GPU card?

After moving from XP to Windows 7 x 64, my old NVidia GeForce 7900GTX no longer works with either Photoshop x 64 or x 32.  I need OpenGL and capacity the ability to process images of several gigabytes.  I am considering a form of NVidia GeForce 480 ASUS in replacement.

I said I need a cheap for $ 50 to $ 100 card that will do everything that Photoshop will not benefit from the extra power of the more expensive NVidia GPU.  I need all the horsepower I can afford, but makes no sense if Photoshop will not use.

If anyone knows if Photoshop CS5 will benefit from the more expensive, more powerful map, not only in the rendering of the screen, but in the actual image processing?

    Thank you.

For video editing, the current 'sweet spot' is the GTX 470 - what is supported by the 5.0.2 body while the GTX 480 only works for equipment MEPS (Mercury playback engine) with a little 'hack' in a configuration file

  • GPU card...

I have a hp 2030 p6 desktop pc... I put high-end graphics card in this pc? I should increase power... If I increase... .How can I? my pc plug-core i5 3.0 ghz 6 GB of ram 2 gb nvidia gt530

    Batmansaif, welcome to the forum.

The main thing to look for is a card that does not exceed 9 ".  This ensures that it will not go in the space provided.  Some members used the cards were 9.25 "without problems, however.  I like to be on the safe side.  It costs money to return items.  I love EVGA, Sapphire, XFX and PNY in that order.

Yes, I think it would be good to upgrade the power supply (PSU), too.  I recommend a minimum of 500W at 550W.  This will give you many more choices of cards.  I like Corsair and OCZ Technology.

  • HP ENVY h8-1409: upgrade the GPU card mother IPMMB-FM (Formosa)

I currently have a ti 750 EVGA installed without any problem with this motherboard. The BIOS on this forum is listed as UEFI with a version of 8.21 FRIEND whose date of 21/10/2014.

I'll be able to spend to the 10xx GTX as a 1060 series, or maybe a RX 480 without any obsolete BIOS problem? I know that some old motherboards from HP could not start even a card GTX series 7xx due to an outdated BIOS that HP did not update.

    Hello

You said that the jury is listed with FRIEND 8.21. Check that your PC is running FRIEND 8.21?

You shouldn't have a problem to start the recent graphics cards, if your computer is running a version 8 BIOS. Ensure that the selected card suits and corresponds to the power supply of your PC.

    Hello
I have laptop Toshiba 5200-701 which is upgradble of wireless network, so I bought the mini PCI card Philips wireless brand. The reference is PH12127-E/PH11107-E and support 802.11a/b/g network address MAC 00 4F 05 43 88 F4.
When I inserted the card in the laptop it shows new hardware found and then I downloaded website IBM software since I was told that this card is basically designed for laptop IBM, however, my laptop is unable to install the software and still facing problem... so please could someone help.
    Thank you very much.

    Moral salvation

Well, in my opinion, you bought a bad wireless card. I don t think that your game can works with your device. Before you buy some hardware components, you need to check the compatibility of these parts. Toshiba service partners always have information about the units on the right. However, I found a wireless card that is compatible with your laptop. It's a PA3212U-1MPC.

    Good bye

    GIGABYTE GV - N760OC - 4GD GeForce GTX 760 4GB 256 - bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready gets 3 X 450W video card

Posted below are the video graphic specifications for my Phoenix H9-1135: graphic video

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion HPE h9-1135 Phoenix. You will need to ensure that power plant is rated at a minimum of 500 watts and has at least a 6 connector pins and a connector 8 pin for the graphics card GTX 760. In addition, that the card is long 11.5 ", you need to measure along the plane of the PCIe x 16 location at the rear of the case more far to determine if there is enough space for the map. If you find all the obstacles before reaching approximately 12 ", the map is inappropriate.
