  I formatted my computer today, installed Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition and jumped on to the thing update and I cannot get it to connect.

  I have no anti virus installed - other than Defender - as the first thing I wanted to do was windows update.

  I have tried to stop the Windows Update service, delete the software distribution folder and relaunch it, and nothing happened.   Norton or Mcafee have never been installed on this computer.

  I have a laptop of old P750 for 2 months, after they need to do a restore to a disk upward, I now get the above error.
  I then decided to do a cover of toshiba with a clean install and still get the same result of windows update is not not able to connect to the server.

  I tried everything I can find this error, including the verification of the proxy settings for WU, reset the proxy via CMD prompt settings.

  I noticed something interesting while control validation using microsoft MGA diagnostic tool, where windows has been listed as a hat, but note some reports as:

  My understanding is the way to 0 x 80070002 he couldn't connect identical to WU or that files are missing.

  It seems funny how the same thing happens even after a clean drive toshiba recovery.

  I have a new Toshiba laptop, running Windows 7 (Home Premium SP1 installed by the OEM). My internet connection works fine for all sites Web except it fails when I try Windows Update.
