2014TX dv7: DV7 2014tx and hybrid SSHD 1 TB

I have a DV7 2014TX and wants to replace the current 500 GB HDD with a Seagate 1 TB ST1000LM014 SSHD.

I cloned my current HARD drive that is 500 GB and windows 7 64-bit. Issues I have is that although I can boot from the new SSHD and also exploitation of it, I lost my mail, and I can't update windows or load windows 10 as it says I have an error 0X8E5E0247 that when I look to the top of the internet says the problem, it is an Intel driver update. I use the Intel update to do this, but he says that everything is ok. I can also download all the programs of my browser even though they appear and say "RUN, SAVE" I try and save but nothing happens. It seems to be a problem with the SSHD and the laptop as if it does not read correctly. The old HDD works fine in all respects.

I also tried to recover from my backup disks on the SSHD, who instructed but took 2 days to load. The questions were still there however.

My next step is a clean load of windows 7 on the SSHD and then try to load windows 10 to see if that solves the problems.

This laptop is compatible with a 1 TB HARD drive, and especially with a Seagate 1 TB ST1000LM014 SSHD as I'm suspecting I either have a bad driver or its just not completely compatible.

I also run sfc/scannow, but everything was fine. Utility Intel Installer loaded, but he can't find anything wrong.  Start safe mode and delete sys32/Software Distribution folder but windows update, error still remains and cannot run or save what my browser.

I have all the latest drivers from the HP site.

Hello @peter69_56,

Thanks for the quick response!

You are right.  In the service guide, it shows the compatibility for a 500 GB hard drive.  However, here he shows a 1 TB hard.  Whatever it is, I am happy that you could get things developed!

Kind regards!

I used to work only on PC, but now I have this 2009 macbook Pro.  He had a record of 7200 RPM... but he died... I want to put a hybrid SSHD on it... will it run slower?

Several years ago I tested both a hybrid version Seagate 1 and later version 2 with my 13 "2009 MBP and the computer started more quickly with one of these drives with 7200 RPM drive. But that and save files were the only time where I saw an improvement of high speed. So no, not slower, but not really all that much faster. I ended up installing an SSD in the computer. Now that was an improvement.

  • SSD in a HP ENVY DV7 7332ea and DIANE setting in the Bios?

    Hello

I have a HP DV7 7332ea want. I recently put a San Disk Extreme 2 120 GB SSD as drive and put the HARD drive in the Bay secondary. I installed Win 8.1 clean and everything works well. I then worked my through the various settings required in the operating system for one SSD maximize its usefulness as travel page file on the HARD drive, deleting hibernation, switching to restore in Control Panel and the last was to change registry settings to activate the DIANE and select it in the bios. However, the "F2" for this model Envy Bios has no option for IDE or DIANE. What this means and am I actually losing any ability to form my SSD if DIANE is not enabled?

Thoughts, General information or suggestions welcome

    Hello:

The contoller drive in your model can be set to RAID and that cannot be changed.

You can check that the speed control is set to RAID if you go to Device Manager and see a category of storage controllers.

Click to expand this category and you will see a controller RAID SATA Intel that are listed there.

As long as you have installed the driver Intel RST that you'll TRIM full support for your SSD in RAID mode and you should ignore all the warnings on the drive doesn't work is not in AHCI mode.

Take a look at this thread for more info...

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6050ec and 199 MB partition

    Hello guys,.

I would ask (that I was not happy with the touch of search here) about 199 MB large partition. I just brought my new HP Pavilion dv7-6050ec laptop, receive Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed and there 4 partitions: 199 MB system. C: 450 GB; Recovery: 15,45 GB; HP_Tools: 103 MB.  I would like to divide the C: partition, but as I have already 4 NTFS partition I'm pretty sure that Windows doesn't let me do (as they will push only me to use max 4 NTFS partitions). So my question is:

Can I remove first 199 MB SYSTEM partition? I'll be able to use HP Recovery (in the future) via F11 on reboot, when I delete this partition? Thanks for any response.

Thanks guys, you two. In fact, I have trouble with back up Recovery partition atm. When I run the Recovery Manager console keeps looking for external USB for centuries. But my (Western Digital) external HARD drive is connected. I also didn't find how to save the HP_Tools partition so tho

You don't have a backup of the HP_Tools partition. When you create the recovery disks, disturbances restore factory settings of these disks, including the HP_Tools partition, the partition recovery etc...

If you have problems to save the recovery partition, I would create the recovery disks. Then, you don't have to anything other than your backup data...

  • Skype on Pavilion DV7 Vista and Win7 problem

I have problems with Skype 5.1 - when I try to open it a message appears 'Skype has stopped working, check online for a solution and close the program, etc.'. Nothing is displayed when clicked. I tried searching for virus & update drivers without success. My DV7 was initially running Vista so I decided to do a new install of Windows 7. To my surprise, the problem with Skype persisted, so I can only assume it is hardware partner. I've updated the Bios without success.

I found a partial solution - start Skype in Win 98 / ME compatibility mode. Skype opens but the video & audio quality is poor. I have Skype installed on 2 desktops with Vista & Win 7 & it works perfectly, so the fault must lie with my HP laptop. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: if I disable video IDT Audio Device Codec drivers Skype works well (in Win98 / ME compatibility mode) without sound. This suggests that the audio drivers are the cause of the problem - there are several posts on this topic. I tried to install an older driver (6.10.6225.0 instead of 6,10 6276.0) but the program crashes still after a few minutes on a call for the use of the CPU to 85-90%. My machine is the DV7-2030ea with a processor AMD Turion 2.2 GHz, 3 GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 graphics & AMD HD Audio. Someone else had this problem?

Tried Skype 5.2 - reluctant to install & video out does not work. Decided to return to 3.6 (360216). Only works under Win 98 / Me compatibility, but No problem with the gel etc even mode after 30 minutes. Anyone with problems above with DV7-2030ea or similar machine spec, I would say:

    (1) use Skype 3.6 instead of a newer version.

    (2) run in Win98 / Me compatibility mode.

    (3) if the problem persists, replace IDT HD Audio Codec drivers with those of Microsoft.

  • HP PAVILION DV7-6199US and WINDOWS 8

I have no errors, but to be honest, I have no software to install HP with Windows 8. I need my drivers for my switchable graphics as well as all my other components. HP, please, tell me that you will be kind enough to provide these things for my nice HP computer. Thank you.

    Hey guys,.

At the moment Windows 8 pilots are not officially supported for these laptops.

I'm sure they test the books right now, and if everything fades there should be no problem with them releasing the pilots.

Please bare with them while they find a way to provide you with the drivers.

    Now what?

I hope it works. 3rd post down from @Rylynx has a suggestion here. It has restored its HP Support Assistant to make it work again: HP Coolsense

If this does not work, you may need to perform a full restore of the HP.

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6b86us and the printer HP 7520 by a 12 volt inverter current?

Can I use a sinus prue or modified inverter 12V sine to run the laptop and printer in my truck?

    Hello

I think you may have meant a pure sine wave instead of "prue Sine.

The average automotive inverter will provide enough clean power to run the device, but it is not as effectively. You can run your laptop from the inverter, but it won't charge almost dead to full battery while using it. If you can afford to buy a UPS of the top end that feeds a sinewave pure AC your device will work effectively. Take note of the ability of Watts from the inverter, you buy. Best units are manufactured by Whistler and Tripp among others. You might consider tarticle from Consumer Reports in order to understand a little more on the motor inverters and their reading skills. He explained in simple terms.

  • dv7-3079wm and wireless channels

    Hi people,

I'm running Win 7 Ultimate ed. with my laptop. I spent two nights at the research and fiddling with my laptop to change channel wireless at 12 or 13 because these are the ones that work best for me. Furthermore, I'm not in the United States. Settings for changing channels just doesn't exist here. I tried several of the latest Atheros drivers, but no luck.

I'd really appreciate it if someone can shed some lights on this issue please. Thanks in advance.

  • I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4045ea and need to know if it works with a 5 GHz router?

I have a Virgin super hub which is really crowded 2.4 ghz frequency. No one here uses the 5 GHz range.

    Hi, Jon:

Relatively easy. If I can do it, anyone can.

Here is the link to the service manual. Read Chapter 4, page 55.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02642701.PDF

Always remove the battery and unplug the power adaptor to the laptop before working inside the PC.

I think you just need a small Philips screwdriver.
