222 process running

There are currently 222 process gobbling up memory and CPU on my Macbook pro, causing it to heat up and turn on his current fan. This seems too much. I'm in iMovie, Firefox (one tab), dictionary and Activity Monitor

I noticed this problem get worse after:

(1) El Capitan install (at the request of Apple support)

(2) turning in iCloud.

I have Airplay and a bunch of other nonsense that I neither want nor need.

In addition to being slow and running a bunch of unknown * that I don't want and probably need not, the internal hard drive of my 500 GB Mac is especially full of 'other '. I could not understand what 'other' was once the research. What is this and how can I free memory (I already turned on iCloud and deleted a bunch of stuff)? Why is my mac so busy? To identify other unwanted processes such as AirPlay, and al. and then uninstall them?

Thank you.

Explains, 'Other' > OS X: what is 'other' space about this Mac?-Apple Support

AirPlay works on your wireless network, so all your cam devices be connected through the same wireless network. AirPlay is part of Mac OS X.

"I'm in iMovie, Firefox (one tab), dictionary and activity monitor.

There is no reason to open the activity monitor application all the time. It is the only application most use more system resources. iMovie is RAM intensive, which can cause your Mac heat. Firefox should not cause problems unless you have installed several modules.

If you do not synchronize the data between your Mac and other devices, there is no need to have active iCloud. Open system preferences > iCloud then click: Logout

Don't forget. The OS X operating system is running in the background when your Mac is on. Your Mac has 8 GB of RAM installed, so you really have nothing to worry about.

Just enjoy the use of your Mac!

  • I currently have 91 processes running and 20 of them are svchost.exe

I have a toshiba satellite A135-S4467 with an Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 CPU TS5200 @ 1.60 GHz.  I am running Windows Vista Home Premium.  An operating system for 32-bit with 2 GB of RAM.  My computer is not working as it should... for example I get "not responding" on programs, again and again, then it won't for a while.  My startup speed is horrible!  I recently increased my RAM by a GB and it doesn't really seem like he did much more of a difference.  When I go to my Windows Task Manager, I see there are 91 processes running and 20 of them are svchost.exe! My CPU usage varies between 15% and 0 # % and physical memory is 58%.    I don't know which ones I can stop at startup or at any time. I tried the whole "trial and error" with the boot and I don't get the case! Help, please!

    Three main points:

    1. 91 processes can be a little more that some people, but it is not an unusual or unacceptable number.

    2. I strongly recommend * against * trying to improve performance by disabling the process. IFT is very difficult to know what it is safe to do so, and for most people, it is more likely to cause problems to fix in the / and even if you're lucky and don't cause any trouble, your performance will likely get no better.

    3. it is difficult to know for sure what your problem is, but your description of it makes it sound like it is most likely that you are infected with malware. What anti-virus and anti-spyware programs do you run?

I am only a very lightweight browser and the user of the social network. I do not use my PC for something else.

It is average for a system Windows does not.

Windows is broken down into different components so they can be executed in parallel to improve performance.

Their closure will cause your computer to malfunction and eventually fails.

Run process Explorer to give you a description of each process and information on the services that are running in each svchost process.

    Hello

Please try to place your computer in a boot minimum scenerio.  It seems that there is a 3rd party application or process running which is the filler on your screen.

  • for many processes running

my own pc indicates that there are many ongoing processes. need to know which ones can I stop

    Hi Billy,

Thanks for posting the question on the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description, it looks like you get a clean pc report indicating that there are too many processes running on your computer, right me if this isn't the issue.

It would be great if you can provide some clarification on this issue.

1 are you facing any problem with the operating system?

    2. are you this message while running a clean PC software?

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

If you are facing a performance problem with the Windows 7 operating system, see the following Microsoft article:

Optimize Windows 7 for better performance: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Optimize-Windows-7-for-better-performance

    Notes:

Once you have finished the Configuration of the system startup troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 3: to reset the computer as usual.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

I recommend stopping any of them. If you do, you may get dirty

  • There is no process running hyperic in the log file...

    Hi all

We just install fresh copy of Hyperic. Very few things configured on it, no agents are still deployment.

We noticed that hyperic Server tries to connect to multiple servers and check is agent installed or not.

We have identified logs on multiple servers looking like this 'cat /var/log/get_hyperic_status_20141020075055.log' where says:

There is no process running hyperic, looking for a file of markers to see if we saw the agent on this virtual machine running in the past

Marker file not found, agent is not installed on this virtual machine.

Why Hyperic tries to connect random servers and how we can disable that?

We will install agents on some hosts, but we do not want that Hyperic is circumventing the random network servers and ping?

    Thanks for the reply.

    Goran

    Hello Goran,

You have vCenter Infrastructure Navigator (NIV) deployed in your environment?

From 5.7 WINE we have added the ability to check if a Hyperic Agent is installed on the client using VMware tools.

    Hope this helps,

  • Display Maestro: Maunually put an end to this process running program?

How do I MANUALLY finish the "Screen Maestro" process of the program running?  I say MANUALLY because it seems not a detroit software removalprocess.

I got the idea to use it on my Apple TV of: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6555305?start=0 & tstart = 0

My goal: Watch family movies on my Apple TV through the home (Streaming) sharing using a 3rd PARTY (Non-Apple) program.  Silly me to use a 3rd party software.

I want to Uninstall this program, but even dragging in the trash, I can't do it, because it gives me the popup window:

"Point"Screen Maestro"" cannot be moved to the Trash because it is open.".

Try a Force Quit won't work, because it is not registered.

I downloaded yesterday - but I seem to have problems my MacBook Pro running at high speed.

I use ESET Cyber Security, and I see the screen Maestro enlisted in its window of running processes.

Interestingly, I bought screen Maestro yesterday and the window ESET Cyber Security of the watch Running Processes:

Under the column 'time of discovery', he said: ""6 months.".

Under the column "ID of Application Bundle", he said, "com.koingosw.DisplayMaestro."

    -------

Right-click on the icon of the Maestro of the displayin the window of Finder of my Applications, I cannot select successfully: 'Cyber-Security ESET - add files in quarantine'.

    -------

Any thinking about the removal of this program?

    1. Use Spotlight to launch activity monitor.
    2. Select the process you want to kill.
    3. Click on the X at the top left of the window.

You can use the activity monitor to view the list of running processes and try to kill one. Be careful with this, you can potentially kill important processes.

Use the monitor activity on your Mac - Apple Support

It will not tell you which process is using the file however.

Preview sometimes will not release a file after viewing. You can command-click the Preview icon on the dock and the attempt to kill him.
