23 "monitor a 3-1/2" black band on the left side of the desktop background. How to expand the context in which to adjust Monitor?

It's the monitor that is provided with the DELL Expirion computer when it was purchased in July 2012.  I paid a "technician" (certified) to transfer the info from my old computer.

If its a LCD monitor, you PC resolution to the native resolution of the screens?

Some monitors have a button self-configured, try pressing that. It can help if there is one.

At the same time, in your 19 "" are you the full desktop or is it lacks a little? If so, try to change the settings for horizontal and vertical screen on the monitor to move the image.

Sorry if this is how to navigate, it's hard to describe.

More info of calibration here - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows7/Getting-the-best-display-on-your-monitor

Also, some graphics card drivers were themselves built the calibration setting, which may be worth a visit, but this can vary from machine to machine and cards.

  • Vista Home Premium boots with black bands on the sides of the screen and features limited after d/l-ing Windows updates

    Hello

My Dell Inspiron 530 has recently started having problems starting. When I turn it on regularly, Windows Vista Home Premium starts with black bands on each side of the screen and your desktop extended / enlarged which does not display the start menu or the taskbar. I can navigate in the Panel, but when I click on the resolution of the screen, nothing happens and I'm unable to change the screen resolution. When I use CTRL and the mouse scroll wheel, I can reduce the size of the desktop icon, but the taskbar, nor start menu appears on the screen. I noticed that I can't start programs when the computer is in this State as well.

I think that this problem started after I downloaded a game from 3 updates of Windows, but I do not know what updates they were.

I am able to start safe mode and the office fills the screen normally. I don't know what steps I can take mode without fail to solve the problem of normal startup, however.

Please let me know I you a glimpse into this situation because it is extremely frustrating. Thank you very much for your help!

    Hello

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

"How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/72491-Windows-Update.html

Here's how to chanage update settings, if you think it is necessary to:

"Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.

It is a real headache. Suddenly, without apparent reason, my ST2421L monitor shows black bands around the image of the screen (regardless if it's the desktop computer or a browser or MS Word). Seriously, when I started to work in the morning, everything was normal. I blinked, and then there are black bars. Using Control Panel, I checked to see if Windows was the drivers for the monitor is up-to-date and that they were. I also went through the factory reset via the OSD menu, disconnected power to the monitor and its HDMI cable, etc.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I built the mobile hybrid application with jquery. This works perfectly on all android devices, but not on iOs. I tested it on my iphone SE and it is not full screen, but instead, it has black bands at the top and bottom. (Check the screenshot).

    Why?IMG_0037.PNG

It's just for the start screen or real application?

If it's just the splash screen, you must include the other dimensions of the start screen.

  • My 'to-do bar' (the black belt at the bottom of the screen) became really wide. Can't fix. Help me!

All of a sudden my 'to-do bar' (the black band at the bottom of the screen) became really wide.  It was 1/2 inch (or 1 centi meters), but now almost 2 inches wide (or 5 hundred meters). She takes down 1/4 of the screen! I must have hit some button to cause this?   How to make the 'taskbar' how it was (to make it close)?  Please help me.  Thank you in advance.

    http://www.blurtit.com/q324464.html

To make smaller or larger, you can place the mouse cursor on the top edge of the taskbar. Make sure that the taskbar is unlocked by right-clicking on the taskbar and if you deselect the option "lock the taskbar". This will allow the bar tasks to move freely. The mouse cursor will change to 2 arrow keys. Click and hold the left mouse button while on the 2 arrows keys and make the mouse upward or down to increase or decrease the size of the taskbar respectively.

  • the presentation of the screen on my monitor is slightly off center with a thin black line on the left hand side. Ho can I fix this. I am running Windows 7 with a monitor Samsung SyncMaster SA10

The presentation of the screen on my new monitor is slightly biased with a thin black line on the right hand side which makes it awkward hitting the back button on the upper left side of the screen. How can I adjust this?  I am running Windows 7 on a new Compaq PC with AMD Vision and monitor Samsung SyncMaster SA10.

    Any suggestions to adjust welcome.

    Thank you.

The monitor must have menu on the side or the bottom buttons - in the find menu where you can adjust the horizontal position of the image.

Increasing or decreasing the horizontal value will move the image left or right. When it is centered properly, you can exit the monitors.

Yes, the product number would be helpful.  Please do not provide the serial number, however.

I think that your problem is perhaps that the monitor is not compatible with Win 8.1.  The only available updates are for Win XP and Vista.  You can find this information in the link that I provided in the article titled "Software Update".

Why? Shouldn't I be see the its synchronized with the video file in the source monitor Panel?  I'm new to first, maybe if I have a setting turned off? Please advise!

Yes, the image expands, but you have the Source and monitors shrunk very small sizes n the screen capture program.

Was the clip defined when you merged and exit points?

(By the way, my post request 3 was on target.)  The video is considerably shorter than the audio, which represents a large part of the black you would see in the Source monitor.)

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to your monitor or a computer, after which the issue started?

I would recommend that you follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

Update your display drivers n check if the problem persists.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/283658

    Step 2:

Test the issue in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

    Step 3:

Also see the manual of the monitor to check if you need to make changes of configuration on the screen itself.

If you could post the screenshot, it would be much easier for us to understand what is the exact scenario as.

See the discussion that follows for more information on how to post a screenshot on the forum of answers:
