• Apply a blur

  I was wondering why ' blurring ' (that is to say, camera, fast Gaussian..) have a range so little to work with.

  In the case that I use usually them... blur BGs behind FGs to key to simulate the DOF... the effective range, I can use is between 1 and 4% maximum.

  Anything else beyond this range is so extreme, its practically unusable.

  Be nice, if they were a little more logarithmic.

  I think that point Craig is that, once you have exceeded a certain percentage of blur added, the effect is much too strong for practical use. I agree with this: If you try to simulate a shallow DOF with a plate of background on a chromakey shot, it seems completely wrong much too quickly. That one proposed by Craig, is that the blur amount added with each "tick" Extra should be a smallest increment, so that there is more control over the effect until the image turns into mush.

  AE blur filters/effects could offer a few more control and the ability to more closely replicate the Blur/Blur caused by a camera lens at a shallow DOF. I gave up trying to simulate this effect in the mail, personally; Instead, I shoot background plates out-of-focus at different focal lengths. He could not give as much flexibility in the post, but the appearance is much more realistic.

• Choice of the desktop image doesn't "stick".

  I would like to change my desktop image every few months. I do not use the option "change images". A photo is great at the time.

  I was not able to get my choice for 'stick' after either restarting, log - you (and back), or stopping and restarting. I don't know if any of my login items could interfere - it seems unlikely, and I could not verify that.

  My Login include Android File Transfer Agent (hidden), join.me Launcher (hidden), (hidden) TotalFinder AdobeResourceSynchronizer and EpsonLowInkReminderAgent (hidden).

  Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

  May be a corrupt .plist.

  Make a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

  Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.desktop.plist.  Move the .plists on your desktop.

  Relaunch the Finder by restarting the computer and test. If it works fine, delete the plists from the desktop.

  If the same, return the .plists to where you obtained since, by crushing the latest.

• Can not remove permanently secure choice of search engines research

  Hello. I deleted all my engines except Google search. However, there is a single search called Secure. I manually delete, but if I closed and reopened FF it reappears. It shows in the search, as well as menu choices if I try to do a search, it shows at the bottom of suggestions of concordance.

  I did a little research, and it is not related to moy. I am running McAfee. I also McAfee Secure Search does not, but it seems not be McAfee. I noticed this after I have updated to the latest version of FF. I don't know how to remove it permanently. Any help would be appreciated. I added two screenshots. A watch what it looks like when I do a search, and the other when I go into the options for search engines. Thank you.

  It certainly isn't a search engine plugin.

  You want to look for in these places and see if it is sitting there and can be deleted?

  (1) for the shared search engine plugins folder

  Open C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\browser using the start menu or Windows Explorer. Are there records related to research here? Search plugins have an .xml extension and usually show the file type "XML Document".

  Try to open the settings file (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

  Import/export built-in Firefox feature fails on two levels: having to manually manage export/import all sessions and especially, not being only unable to nothing less than the bookmarks together each time file import and export.

  1. From topic: config you can toggle browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML to True to activate the favourites being stored in the old format bookmarks.html, which is currently unused or only used for basic bookmarks with Firefox.
  2. Then use this extension for moving backups bookmarks.html in a folder of your choice. http://www.Pikey.me.UK/Mozilla/?addon=bookmark-backup

  You will get that bookmarks are saved in a format that can be easily edited and automate a new file is created each time Firefox is closed. As well as having a number of days of value of backups being saved.
  I did this since Firefox 3.0 was released, during the storage of bookmarks went from bookmarks.html to places.sqlite.

  Problem is that extension must be "signed" by Mozilla to work beyond 43 Firefox; not sure if the developer - Pike - plans to submit for signature or simply left to die.

• 36 Firefox: How can I KEEP my choice of default search engine and Yahoo Search?

  Firefox 36 insists now that I use Yahoo search constantly changing my default search engine choice. No matter now many times I put it for Google, I'll get something Yahoo and it's once again.   Hmm, it sounds like you have some kind of hijacker in your Firefox. Try this:

  Disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

  • Command + shift + a
  • Tools menu > Modules

  In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off. (Or if it is obviously the badware, delete).

  If Firefox is redirected at this point, see the next section.

  Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  On Windows:

  • Go to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins
  • All you have to do is to delete the XML file for the search engine that you want to remove (e.g. google or yahoo) and restart Firefox.

  Deleting the file may require administrator approval. Simply click continue if windows request.

  What you defined in the options?

  When you are in the dialog box font (Options > content > 'Advanced' button), you will notice a control top that usually reads "Western" or "Other languages" (the latter is used for Unicode pages). Be sure to make your choices for these two and if you work with pages that use other character sets, set those as well. And finally, uncheck the box that allows page choose their own fonts.
