250 HP G4: HP 250 g4 Windows 7 Bitlocker

Hello.

I have HP 250 g4 with TPM module and installed Windows 7 x 64 Ultimate.

I have updated the bios to version F. 21 and set options 'Device TPM' to 'Available' and "State TPM" to "enabled."

In Device Manager I see Security TPM v. 2.0.

When I try to use Bitlocker, I get message, TPM does not support the current version of WOOD and I need to contact the manufacturer of the BIOS update.

How to fix?

Which option 'TPM State' in the BIOS do?

Concerning

I solved this problem. System disk must be converted to MBR mode TPG. Windows 7 must be installed using the UEFI. You must install the Windows6 update. 1 KB2920188-v7 - x 64.  After Bitlocker with TPM2.0 works.

The webcam works may not because it lacks the driver.

Try the universal driver HP HP Probook 450 G2.

It's the pilot USB3 for USB3 ports you need.

  • HP 250 G4: HP 250 G4 Windows Product key

Hi, I recently had to completely format my laptop for work.

This lead me to have to reinstall the OS's multiples, including one that was previously installed on it.

In my haste to get the machine put in place in the client's facilities, I chose to use instead a generic product key in order to get the configuration of the window quickly, with the intention to recover the BONES of my initial credential.

However, I can't seem to find the key anywhere and am unable to open it, due to conflicts of warranty.

Is there a way to get around this?

As I would like to activate Windows 10 Pro license key I already had.

My wife has this laptop, purchased in 2011 (with Windows 7 Starter installed), so much more under warranty. Something is which means that it was not possible even to enter Windows at all. We therefore ask the services of a professional. It solved our problem, but at a price! Although told he would need to reinstall the version of W7 Starter, because anything more sophisticated gave rise to an extremely slow operation, he chose to install Home Premium, with predictable results. Calls for this society have remained, despite requests to the ring, so it seems I'll have to do the work myself, because I really should have done in the first place, but domestic management refused permission.

I understand that W7 Starter is now Microsoft unobtailable, I take my chances with a web dowlnoad from another source, but I've still will of course need to know the product key, would have HP beable to help with this?

  • Recovery of Windows 7 Bitlocker!

    Hello world!

    I have a problem here...

I have my windows 7 OS on C: and my profile on D: files. I tried to check how Bitlocker works and started the D: drive encryption. After that 15 minutes, I had 'blue screen' and since this moment impossible to connect my profile (because the D drive was locked). When I try to unlock by car from the Bitlocker Control Panel (in safe mode) type my password, it says "the system cannot find the file specified." Using the link "I forgot my password" doesn't help me either, because the "Get the key to a USB flash drive" option is not available (it is not active) and the "Enter the recovery key" option does not work (you can click it but nothing happens).

It is very important to me, because all of my data on the D drive, which is now locked.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

PS I know it was my mistake, but I need to get my recovered data.

  • Windows 7 Bitlocker TPM bios password

is it necessary to password protect the BIOS if you use Bitlocker and TPM?

Technically, no, however, if someone goes into the BIOS and disable the security chip, after defining the bitlocker encryption, I think that you would be left with a mess.

  • Could not upgrade to windows 10. In windows 7 Home Premium, how can I turn off BitLocker?

Couldn't get to 10 Windows 7 Edition windows Home premium because the bitlocker should be disabled. How can I disable the bitlocker in windows 7 Home premium?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you can not upgrade to Windows 10 Windows 7 as your BitLocker should be disabled. When BitLocker is suspended, secure the TPM validation does not place and other authentication methods, such as the use of a PIN or USB key to unlock the operating system drive, are not applied. I suggest you refer to the following steps to disable the BitLocker Drive Encryption:

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click system and security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
    2. Find the drive on which you want that BitLocker Drive Encryption turned off, and click turn off BitLocker.

    3. A message appears, informing you that the drive is decrypted, and this decryption may take a long time. Click decrypt the drive to continue and turn off BitLocker on the drive.

By performing this procedure, you have decrypted the drive and removed BitLocker protection. You can now upgrade to 10 Windows upgrade.

  • Encryption in Windows 7

Hello, in Windows 7 Professional, when you right-click on a file or folder and click on 'Properties' and under the (Advanced) attributes you have a possibility to encrypt your files.
Windows says that encrypt your files will help to protect other people and keep safe. I tried this option and I noticed that the color of the name of the folder turns green. What I want to know is that how it contributes to the safety of my files. I mean, when I click on the file, it easily opens without asking for a password (not even that I put in the key certificate).

After encryption, if I open the file in my computer, that anyone can open it. So, what's the point of it? Is it really safe?

If you mean that if I create another account on my computer, then the person using the other account will not be able to access my files?

    Come help me with this:
    > If I encrypt a file, save it to my USB key and plug it into another computer, will it be possible to see on the other computer?
    > If not (from above) how can I open my file in the "another computer"?

Really read up on encryption instead of simply asking questions.  ;-)

If you encrypt your files, without the certificate backup or your password so that they could connect to your account on the computer, they are not getting into your encrypted files/folders.  If the machine is stolen, or if your password is changed by any means other than the normal method * you * would use to change your password (if it is changed by an administrator account on the computer and not not not using your account itself), then without the backup certificate/key - you do not get the data back.

A drive/external USB media can use "Bitlocker to Go" that past essentially protects the encryption/decryption of the data on the key, so you can access the other computer.  Although there are BONES and other restrictions which.  (As you must have Windows 7 Enterprise or ultimate edition to access the same functionality - Professional didn't.)  http://sonyvegaspro97.blogspot.com/2012/04/using-Windows-7-BitLocker-to-go-secures.html

  • Encryption on Windows Ultimate

Moved to Windows XP Security & Privacy for Windows 7 security & privacy>

How to validate that my computer is now fully encrypted after you have downloaded the Windows Ultimate software that is supposed to contain encryption?

    Steve

Ok.  Do you simply 'download' the DVD of Windows 7 Ultimate, or have you actually installed Windows 7 Ultimate?  Even if you have it installed, as I wrote above, nothing is encrypted until you take action to make it happen.  Your system is not "entirely encrypted" (all what you mean by that) simply by installing Windows 7 Ultimate.  You must take concrete steps to encrypt your data.

Is that what you want to do?

Are you referring to BitLocker, which encrypts the entire drive, or to the Encrypting File System (EFS), which allows you to encrypt files and folders individual?  In general, BitLocker is used in enterprise environments (this is why it is only available in Ultimate and Enterprise versions).

And yet once again, I urge you NOT to encrypt anything until you fully understand what you are doing.  BitLocker and EFS are designed with no "back door" or other means of data recovery, if you lose or forget the encryption key.  Because there is no way to recover data that has been encrypted with a corrupted certificate or missing, it is critical that you back up the certificates and store them in a secure location. You can also specify a recovery agent. This agent can restore the data. The recovery agent certificate serves a different purpose than the certificate of the user.

  • relock bitlocker in windows 7

I am using windows 7 bitlocker to encrypt a partition on the hard drive. So I unlock the drive with the password successfully. Now how I relock the reader? The only way I see is to reboot the machine. What bothers me is that even if you close the session and connect as a different user, the reader is always unlocked! Is there not a menu item or option for the re - lock?

Could just right click on the driver and then click on enable BitLocker or the Panel under BitLocker option re - activate. When you unlock BitLocker, it will affect not to the level of the user, which means when it is activated at the level of the system, is to allow all users, and when it is disable, it is disable for all users too.

  • Updated the motherboard, processor and RAM and upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, after upgrade the external hard drive encrypted with bitlocker will not enter the password.

Original title: bitllocker Windows 7 issue

    Hello

I recently updated my motherboard, processor and RAM, but I kept my original 500 GB hard drive, and equipped with a hard drive 2 TB extra, after the upgrade, I downloaded windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. After the upgrade I plugged my external hard drive (which has all my stuff important on it, that is to say the photo, video etc.) to realize that I had he encrypted with bitlocker on my old sysem. It allows Me to enter my password, it looks for a USB flash drive key, I did not. My question is:

Can I replace my old system with the old motherboard, hard drive and the original RAM to remove the external hard drive for bitlocker?

I still have the file windows.old on my hard drive, I have to restore it and remove the most recent version of windows 7 off the drive. I do this before I rebuild my old PC? I'm stuck here and would not lose all my photos (the wife would kill me!) I would appreciate your help.

    Hello

Reassembly of the old computer won't help. You will always need the key to open the Bitlocker.
