    Hello

I have a problem with my Firefox crashing constantly, any Web page I'm on. Sometimes it crashes after I've been online for a few minutes, sometimes it crashes immediately on startup. I just never know when it's going down, but he always does. I completed all the steps listed on the Web site of your support:

       Update your software
           Update Firefox
           Update your plugins
           Update Windows
           Update your drivers
           Update your Internet Security software
       Check for viruses or spyware
Check to see if the crash happens in safe mode.

I did all that, and the crash always happens in Mode without failure. I am still able to connect for a few minutes between the accidents, but as you can imagine is pretty boring. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Glad to know that it works again.

Apparently, development and maintenance of the abstract has been suspended. No doubt, you will be able to find a similar extension or use a slightly different workflow.

As for the problem of Flash Player. It is usually best keep the latest version of FlashPlayer. The Flash Player itself support site may be able to shed some light on your problem. Disable the Safe_mode Adobe is relatively simple and easy to do by changing a config file and may be worth a try. If the change does not help, it is reversed in a similar way.

Another thing to consider is testing with hardware acceleration off and possibly updated or even roll back updates the graphics driver.

Hello therealatri, it is a known problem that is triggered by hardware acceleration and driver ATI catalyst 12.8 on windows 8. in fact it should already be a block in place in firefox for these systems assigned to use hardware acceleration, which would have been unable to operate at your place... (could you Firefox > help > troubleshooting information and copies the information indicated in the chart article and the poster in response to this question)

You can manually disable hardware acceleration in firefox under options > advanced > general.

Edit: apparently, there's a beta version of firefox 16 difficulty which allows the set to the index of the driver for the hardware acceleration. You can also try this version: www.mozilla.org/firefox/beta

    Hello

You can try to Uninstall and reinstall Flash. If the problem persists you can also temporarily disable Flash in (Alt + T) Tools > Addons > Plugins and try the HTML5 videos wherever possible. Most of the videos without ads embedded have equivalents of HTML5. You can also try opening the problematic sites in IE Tab + or IE Tab in Firefox.

    Hello

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

This solve your problems? Please report to us!

  • Firefox crashes several times a day. I haven't found one yet. It crashes randomly, I guess.

Firefox crashes. I think that Facebook is still running. I tried in safe mode and with all plugins disabled but it keeps crashing randomly. A few days without accidents at all. A few days three crashes in one minute.

This seems to have solved the problem:

Repair of TCP/IP stack for use with Vista or 7 options.

Start - all programs - accessories and do right click on command prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

Restore the default install WINSOCK entries: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset the battery TCP/IP IPv4 default installation. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset the battery TCP/IP IPv6 default installation. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

    Reboot the computer.

  • Firefox crashing together PC, who need complete reboot

While using Firefox on my computer, it crashes randomly the PC all the hard drive seems to stops and the light goes off - hard drive activity there is no BSOD. I have to force reboot the machine.

It happened about 4 to 5 months now and for the most accidents every day, sometimes twice a day. I used Firefox without problem for years on this machine.

I have refreshed Firefox, created many new profiles and settings changed, uninstalled and reinstalled, defragged the hard drive and tried almost everything I can think of. There is nothing in the observer of events or about: crashes related to the accident, this only happens when I use Firefox.

Thanks for the suggestions, I spoke to someone on the Forum of Vista, which was also to have this problem

We both had both installed Avast and we have solved our problem by removing Avast

Uninstalled Avast on 15 November and installed Avira, not had a single accident in FF, but great!

I'll let you know if it happens again, but it is probably fixed!

  • Firefox crashes after I open a new tab

    What could be wrong?
    Thank you.

You might try using a new profile. It might be hard to go at least a whole day without your pets addons, bookmarks, and history... the bookmarks are fairly easy to copy.

    Create a new Firefox profile

This is in addition and does not replace your existing settings.

A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It should also come with fresh data bases of completely fresh settings and a cache folder.

Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Search box (or run) - type or paste the following and press ENTER:

    firefox.exe -P

    Do not delete anything here.

Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button to create a profile, assign a name like April8 and ignore the possibility of changing the location of the folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.

It might take some time to determine if the new profile works better than the old. If you want to import your Favorites from your regular profile in the meantime, here's how:

You can use the dialog library (Ctrl + Shift + b or "Show all bookmarks") to access the restore feature. The trick is to know where to find your bookmark backups in your regular profile. After clicking on file... you can paste this into the space of file name and press ENTER to drill down to your profile folders:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

The semi-randomly-named folder that has your last backup is generally the one that ends with "failure". Click in that one, and then in the folder bookmarkbackups . Here you can choose the most recently updated to restore file.

Important: restoring a backup bookmark clears all bookmarks currently in your current Firefox profile and replaces it with the contents of the backup file.

In my view, it is also reasonable to install AdBlock Plus, Restorer of classic theme, and Status4Evar, like those who, by themselves, are not likely to be at the origin of this apparently rare problem. But I wouldn't add all your extensions to the time in the new profile, and if many show extensions system installed, you can disable those you don't actually use.
