27-inch Imac (2011) will play is more DVD

It wasn't a problem, before I've upgraded to El Capitan. But having received only a few new commercial DVDs I tried to run and each time they were ejected after 30 seconds without explanation. I know that the DVD themselves are ok because work on an ancient mac laptop. When I tried a job formerly DVD, it worked but when I tried to eject it, the app froze and I had to use force them to leave. DVD player smoking but the DVD would not eject. I tried various tricks to eject it but ultimately had to do a restart. After the reboot, this old DVD has been treated as the nine. My machine does not recognize. Later, I opened the drive DVD of Launchpad, inserted the new DVD and recalled in the file menu "Open DVD Media". If it showed two folders "Audio_TS" and "Video_TS" all the files in the folder have been listed, but is not accessible. Clicking play gave me the message "the disc supported is not available" (although at this time, he showed as an icon on the desktop. Then I got the beachball dead and when I opened it the player after the force quit I was still this beachball and no further response. When I did drag the icon of the DVD disc in the trash, Finder became unresponsive and I had to restart, the DVD disc has disappeared from the top of the desk, wrapped around but does not eject. Finally I ejected it with the keyboard button. When I restarted DVD player without the drive it seemed to work, IE no beachball, so I re inserted the annoying disc and this time, it worked.

Why am I having to go through all this palaver?

But hang in there! as soon as I tried to play it it told me he was unaware of the damaged areas, (this plays on my laptop, however) and after a few minutes we were at the beachball. Error 69902 then reported as a DVD Player system error. Then it crashed. Not one of the 6 new DVDs that is given to me for Christmas would load or play. Now we're back to not even have an icon on the desktop and the discs eject automatically after a minute

The issue has nothing to do with El Capitan, I got El Capitan installed on my iMac 2011 for months and have never had any problems with DVD playback. Your problem may be a dirty or faulty drive or the computer may need a simple reset. First make a few resets base as a SCM and reset the PRAM, the indications are in iMac SMC and reset the PRAM. If the reset does not work, go to your local office supply store and get a CD/DVD cleaning kit, follow the directions and clean the lenses. There are lasers for CD and DVD in the SuperDrive, one of you maybe just dirty or it may have failed. IF the cleaning kit does not resolve your problem, you will need to replace the drive. You can either get another drive SuperDrive (not recommended because of the expenditure) or you can get an external drive. If you decide to take an external hard drive I recommend contacting OWC (www.macsales.com) and they can help you to choose the one that fits your needs.

    Greetings,

For the last month, I noticed my screen goes dark suddenly on not the case. During this time he has no use of graphics heavy just reading the news or update notes. I tried to remedy the situation by making the PRAM reset to enjoy and SMC. However, I am quite surprising that a computer that has cost more than $2500,00 would not that way. I researched and found that the probable cause was the LED backlight Board, I also found that the replacement of this Board is very costly and unfair in my opinion.

I am wrong in my analysis of the members of the LED backlight, is it a reminder for a free replacement. I am disappointed that this is happening on such a machine than iMac 2011.

    Hello!

What laptop Tecra you have exactly?

I think that you must reinstall WinDVD and Windows Media Player doesn t work again why don t have a codec package installed I think.
So, try to reinstall WinDVD and try another player like VLC media player. It can play a large number of audio and video files.

    Good luck!

    Hello

Have you tried to close all programs and then insert the disc in the drive?

You have disk problem as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (burn CD & DVD and CD and DVD read).
Therefore, it is not unusual for 1 or 2 rooms with not so work that others do it properly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

CD have a tolerance + - and you have to write on the side outside their tolerance. They can be given
However, it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

    Try this troubleshooting:

Step 1: Please make all underneath the same if you've done it before as it's often the total of the process which
    solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

  • DVD player on the desktop iMac 2009 will not read the dvd whats the fix

DVD player on the desktop iMac 2009 went to play DVDs on Yosemite.  What is the solution?

The first thing to try is a disc cleaning disc. About US$ 5-15 in most computer, office supplies and electronic. Loading slot discs get pretty dirty and this dirt/dust can interfere with proper disc. The cleaning disc is an inexpensive and simple step that often solves the problem.

  • My DVD will play. My DVD says disc is bad or needs to be formatted when I try to burn. Backup stops and says back up does not have all the

I want to backup my computer to an external hard drive but the popup of backup does not have this option.

    Hi Janice,.

    (a) have you tried using different DVD to burn backup files and check if it burns?

    (b) your use of any third-party burning software on the computer?

    (c) what is the size of the backup files that you try to burn on DVD?

    (d) you are able to burn CD/DVD in Windows Explorer?

    (e) you are able to perform the backup to internal hard drive? You cannot save to the C: drive, try to perform the backup on a different partition and check.

Try to uninstall the burning of third-party of the computer software and check. Also try using different DVD to back up files. I suggest you follow these methods and see if it helps:

Method 1: run this Microsoft fixit tool:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems

    Method 2:

Navigate to the following location and delete all the files and then try to burn the DVD and check if it helps:

After that I recorded my video (such as a .wmv file) and burn it to a DVD, it won't play on any DVD players. The saved file can be converted to another type that will play on most DVD players? Or even recorded under one of these files?

  • burn my DVDs on my laptop and play on my laptop but it won't play in my dvd player.

I can burn a dvd on my laptop and I can read the dvd on the laptop. If I try to play the dvd in my dvd player which is connected to my TV, he will not play in the drive.  I can burn the dvd even my daughters laptop, it will play in my laptop and it will play in my dvd player. So, I know that it is not the dvd player. Help, please

    Hi Speedstep,

In theory,-r is more compatible, but it really depends on the model. I use Verbatim DVD + R exclusively to educational DVDs for the ballet school where my wife works, and have never had anyone come back to complain that the drive did not work. The OP used Imation, which are the second quality rate. So I suspect it's at least a part of the problem.

  • Satellite P200-1EE does not play a HD - DVD

My P200 with HD DVD drive fails to recognize a HD drive (before ask you, this is not a Blu - Ray). It's a UK bought HD DVD. When I start the program of DVD HD Toshiba drive and insert a disc, nothing happens. He will play a standard DVD with no problems. All other functions of the disk drive appear to be good.

What is the solution to this problem? I made no change of setting.

The problem is that your HD DVD player firmware is not updated!
In addition, I would recommend the Toshiba HD DVD Player update!

See European Toshiba driver page, select your notebook series and date the firmware of the HD DVD player and readers!

If you put expensive RAM and/or incorrect RAM then Yes. iMacs are very sensitive to the RAM and you must use quality RAM, more experienced on these forums users use OWC (www.macsales.com) or critical (direct purchase). RAM should also be installed in pairs. If you purchased anything else, then after a report of EtreCheck of your system and we can look for obvious problems.
