2800-400 BIOS update will allow LAN wireless 802.11 g?
I recently bought a Belkin 54 G cardbus wireless adapter for use with my Satellite 2800-400, which has a Windows ME OS.
The installer would not install a driver, even if I was told to be supported.
I wrote to Belkin and they told me that it was because the BIOS of the laptop did not support wireless 802.11 g and that I should update the BIOS. I've updated to version 2 of the BIOS, but it made no difference.
I don't know if the Belkin instructions were on the right track or if they were they just push the responsibility too far from themselves as they could.
Please can someone tell me if my laptop supports 802.11 g wireless, with or without the BIOS upgrade?
TIA
Mike
Hello
I m not 100% sure that if your laptop supports a local network because wireless connection I put t found any information about it. But as far as I know it s not necessary to update the BIOS with the wireless card works.
I recommend you contact the service partner. They have more detailed information on this unit.
Good bye

Satellite 2800-400 Bios Update - will not start
Hello
I hope someone here can help me.
I just did an update of the bios on a S2800-400. The machine worked perfectly up to this point, has never had a problem at all. (should have been better I guess)
Anyway, he is been 192 MB of ram and a 60 GB drive upgrade and works happily in this config for some time. The change I wanted was the ASPA compliance, but for some reason, the machine pours just as soon as he's trying to start now. The update of the bios has been according to the instructions and successful that the messages show. Do not know what to do now... Where can I find the old bios files? return to orig
Thanks in advanceHello
As far as I know old BIOS version can be installed just in Service partner. Another possibility is to try to reinstall the OS from restore CD. Maybe using.

HP Envy x 360: HP Notebook System BIOS update will not install
I tried to download and install the BIOS update. Looks like if it downloads but just turn the gears instead of install. Waiting an hour for completion, but not worked.
Hello
Try the following.
Close HPSA, restart the computer, and then download the update of the Bios from the link below and save it in your downloads folder.
http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp75001-75500/sp75141.exe
Once the download is complete, close other open windows and programs, then open your download folder and double-click the installer to start the process. The real flash will occur when you restart the machine - do not interrupt it somehow, even if nothing seems to be happening for a while - when it is finished, the machine will load in Windows as usual.
Note: If the update option arises as being 'blocked on this device', you will need to contact HP in this regard.
Kind regards

on printer_what wireless firmware update will allow to connect a cable to screw?
Instructions for JO 8600 Pro n911a HP says the firmware updates don't work for wireless connections. Using Vista x 64.
That I have not found, this is what can happen when I plug a printer already implemented wireless with a USB cable or ethernet. And how many ways can he screw up my installation of the printer?
Nothing is mentioned in the manual on this printer support page or the user on the CORRECT way to change from USB wireless or ethernet - TEMPORARILY, updating of the firmware; then return wireless - w/o problems. Which is not a common question?
In addition, I don't see a way to say positively what firmware version is later. The versions are different, but not like xxxxx100 & xxxxx105.
First characters of the firmware & a to d/l are the same; last digits of the current FW are 1150CR. There is no date for the installed FW, anywhere, I looked.
Version more recent d/l is 1304AR.
I've seen a lot of files / names of the drivers where the last 2 characters - CR & AR - would be more wrinkle is that the 4 last digits are higher on the d/l version; as this is a new printer.
Thank you.
Hello lostsowl,
I think that we are on the same page. I was using different terminology for the same thing. I use the word 'install' to mean 'add printer' or 'other connection of installation. A printer can be connected to a computer through different types of connections. Each type of connection would require a separate installation, although you can use the same software.
Looks like you have made a reasonable decision. If I can do something else to help, let me know. Nice day!

Satellite A30-931 - what happens if the BIOS update will not?
I was recommended to make an update of the BIOS on the above machine. I think that the existing version is 1.30 and the correct replacement is 1.70 (I think it's PSA33E: [http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/eula/info_eng2.asp]).
The original BIOS has a password. Want to know what happens if this process goes wrong. My system will be unusable or is it a pre-installation of the backup procedure?
The additional problem is that the fan is happening every minute or so. The radiator looks clean, but maybe new thermal grease should be applied to the cpu.
Thank you
Hello
In the worst case if the update goes bad your computer doesn t boot. This means that you can only see a black screen and nothing you can do. In this case you would need professional assistance from an authorized service, they can reflash the ROM module or Exchange it.
But a few important points here before starting the update:
S ' ensure that you are logged on as administrator
-Disable your AntiVirus and your firewall
-Disconnect the Internet
-Close all running programs> The additional problem is that the fan is happening every minute or so. The radiator looks clean, but maybe new thermal grease should be applied to the cpu.
Yes, maybe the thermal compound must be renewed if you already cleaned your laptop. After that, everything should work normally. -
Re: Satelite A500 - what happens if the BIOS update will not?

I have a new Satellite A500 and want to update Bios. What happens if this process does not go?
Thnks
Hello
I do not recommend to do a bios upgrade if your system works well. If the upgrade process go wrong your mobile doesn t boot more, and then you will need to contact
TASP (Toshiba authorized service provider).
Be sure to close all programs, disable antivirus, firewall.Welcome them

Satellite A200 - 1 GB block during the bios update - will not turn on
Need help please, I was updating of the bios. And the process is stopped at: 2/18. I wait an hour and i decided to turn off the laptop. Know I can't turn on. Nothing happens. Anyone know how the recovery mode?
Thank you
(Sorry for my bad English)
Josefa Hello,
It sounds as if you of the BIOS chip was damaged during the attempt to update failed, and unfortunately this will prevent you from starting your laptop so that you can tyr to redo the update.
In my view, that it will be necessary to bring or send the laptop to a Toshiba authorized service agent who has the equipment necssary to re flash your BIOS chip.
Kind regards

Script, java, antivirus. Always better direct links work. EXE files in general are considered hostile by default.

Found the answer here - [http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB59014X0000R01.htm] - via Google.
Fundamental problem, is that I was by double-clicking the zip instead of a click right-extract all.

Satellite 2800-500 BIOS update
I see that there is an update of the bios for the 1.6 x bioses dated 03/01/04 and I have a bios version 1.6 x dated 15/09/2001. What I would like to know is what is the difference between the one I have and the more recent, and if I should upgrade my wood to the new version?
Hello
I put t know what OS runs on your device, but on the Toshiba site you can find the information that the BIOS 1.6 since 18/12/01 is NOT designed for Windows XP.
The newest BIOS version 1.6 x (03/01/04) is only for Win XP. In this case if you want to upgrade your system to Win XP, you must update the BIOS to the latest version.Best regards

I came to know the adapter by using the information system by pressing ESC at startup upward and found Wlan fcc id RTL8732BE...
