2825635 update for Office 2010 applies to Office 2007

I have Office 2007 installed, and this morning (May 14), I was alerted to 9 new updates for my 32-bit computer. It updates for Office 2010, but online documentation makes no mention of this Office 2007 application update, it refers only to Office 2010.

Can I hide the Office 2010 update or install it?

8 other updates have been installed.

Hello

Based on my research and available content from Microsoft, the KB 2825635 update applies only to the Office 2010 package.

Here is the link that will list the updates deployed by Microsoft for Office packages in may 2014.

http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_sustained_engineering/archive/2014/05/13/may-2014-Office-update-release.aspx

It clearly lists the KB 2825635 applies to Office 2010.

I hope that using information provided!

You have a different version of Office installed?  If so, it is possible that some of the updates are also for an earlier version of Office and not only Office 2007.  Here are some things that you might want to take a look at for help with this issue.

  • How to prevent the updates for Office Standard 2007

I'm running on windows xp. I use office 2007 standard. After a computer breakdown recent when I reinstalled office 2007 standard I am able to update 2003 documents. However, after sending updates by microsoft I can't open word 2003 documents. It says I need a converter. When I go to the microsoft site and download as advised that it downloads but still do not allow me to open the 2003 docs. I just want to be able to disable updates for office 2007 standard. that will solve my problem. can someone tell me how to proceed?

    Thank you

    Hi Mary,

I suggest you to check the number of KB updates to isolate the problem.

To see the updates are installed on the computer, follow these steps:

    a. click Start, click all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. click view update history. A window opens that displays all the updates that are installed and those who have not installed properly on the computer.

You can perform the System Restore before you install the Windows updates and check.

Important: System Restore will return all your files non-system as documents, email, music, etc., to a previous state. These files of types are completely affected by the restoration of the system. If it was your intention with this tool to recover a deleted file to non-system, try using a file instead of system restore recovery program.

You can Configure Windows to install only specific updates.  Check out the link for more information.

  • Impossible (to install office 2003 after repeated failures of the updates for office 2003 re security)

The security update for office 2003 on my XP (SP3) kept failing throughout the last week. I contacted the support of MS PC security by phone and I was transferred from the Department the installation program office at Department of update of security for customer service. And none of them had no idea of what is the problem. I lost patience with MS is supported. I followed some other technique posted on the web for the same question and tried to uninstall office 2003 and re - install. However my new installation of office 2003 meets the following error (same error I got when I tried to apply the security updates)

"Error 2932: an internal error has occurred."
    (C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{91E30409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9)\graph.ico 131)
Contact the Services de Support technique Microsoft (PSS) for assistance. »

After the Installer rolls back all the facilities. Now I find myself with no office 2003 (I tried office 2007 install with the same result).

I would really appreciate it if other users can help you with a fix for this or MS support engineer.

My desktop is hp pavilion PC under XP (SP3).

Finally, I was able to get good support from Microsoft. A Microsoft support engineer remotely connected to my machine and was able to fix the installation/update directories corrupted microsoft who were at the origin of the problem. I managed to install office with success and things are back to normal. I had given up hope after my original support request (2 weeks back) and the first experience with the customer. But MS technical support engineers (the less one that helped me yesterday) seem to have a good idea of what was going on and was able to solve my problem quickly. Thank you MS support

I TRIED TO RESTART THE SAME PROBLEM, IT SEEMS TO INSTALL AT TURNS OFF, BUT IN THE END WHEN I RESTART MY LAPTOP IT IS DISPLAYS THE WINDOWS UPDATE ICON! WHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND WHAT CAN I DO TO SOLVE IT! BOTH PRODUCTS ARE TRIALS AND I HAVE TIME WE THEM UNTIL JANUARY 2010 TO JANUARY 31, 2010 OFFICE AND WINDOWS, I HAVE 57 DAYS MORE IN THE FUTURE! PLEASE GIVE ME AN ANSWER!

    Hi Mihai,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

As you use the trial version of Windows 7 this could still be a problem, you can perform the below given steps and see if it helps.

    Step 1:

You can run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

Download and run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool. After downloading this tool, it runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.

For more information about how to download and run the system update readiness tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 947821 Description of the system update tool for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

In article 947821, scroll down to the "Microsoft Download Center" section, and then click the link to download the update for your operating system preparation tool.

    Step 2:

You will need to maybe reset the Windows Update components, download the Microsoft fix - it from the link and run the wizard that automatically resets the windows update components, if it does not, I recommend that reset you manually update windows components from the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

These steps should solve the problem, give it a try and check if you are able to perform windows updates.

You can also try to download updates manually and install one by one.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Windows 7 - cannot get updates for Office 2003

After hours of talking on the phone, I turn on these forums for help.

I have Windows 7 x 64 Professional with all current updates.  I also have MS Office 2003.

While I am able to receive and update the operating system, I get no prompt or suggested updates for Office 2003.  From Office 2003 and then clicking on "Help/Check for Updates ' do nothing.  Interesting is going to 'Control Panel/system and security/Windows Update' and then clicking on "get updates for other Microsoft products...". To learn more"anything also.

I use Firefox exclusively and I was wondering if IE is required to activate these functions?

    Yes.

    ========================

HOW TO activate features Windows turn on or off
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-features-on-or-off

You can not uninstall IE8 on Windows 7, but you can disable access to it (for example, to disable IE8). Similarly, you cannot reinstall IE8 in Windows 7, but you can reactivate access to him (i.e., turn on IE8).

If it's a Win7 64-bit computer, you have two versions of IE8: IE8 64 bit (the default) and IE8 32 bit. See this previous discussion: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/thread/babaa5f8-ff06-4ea2-aef6-a9416d65f981
