2nd monitor receives no signal

I recently bought a HP 2511 x monitor to extend my desktop.  I use it as my main screen with my old monitor as my second screen.  They have worked very well for two days since I plugged the but just now after having to restart my computer the second monitor no signal.  My computer is a HP HPE-400y with an ATI Radeon HD 5450 video card that says it's working properly.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello

Try to swap the two monitors and cables have a for one and see if the question follows the cable of the monitor/or rest on the same video card port.

It is in any case to restore the setting without the bios screen?

    Hello

Shut down the PC, remove the AC power supply.  Follow the procedure to clear the CMOS, which is under the heading "Compensation bios settings" to the bottom of the page on the link below.  You must make sure that you put yourself in the Earth or wear an anti-static strap to prevent damage to components on the motherboard.

  • HDMI monitor receives no signal - worked before

Hi, I just moved house and tried to reconnect to my pc configuration. He was put in the box seven weeks ago and received no updates or anything like that.

everything worked except the monitor. When I tried to connect to the pc, the monitor would say 'no signal' and go to sleep. I used hdmi to hdmi.

I checked if monitor was by connecting to the laptop, and it works well, so it is the connection between the pc and monitor that US listening to the top.

It is not a new monitor and it worked fine before, so im puzzled. I have no other monitor, so I can't check the graphics settings.

According to the sounds the pc was done, the usual diringrings and windows boots and the lack of tones of the error, I suspect that the system itself works well...

    need help!

.. Sorry guys, it was the wrong port: P

I had to put the HDMI on the port directly to the graphics card no motherboard.

    Who could forget

    Hi jayvee53,

    1. don't you make changes before the show?

We recommend that you adjust the size of the screen in digital and analog Mode in Windows (resolution setting)
If the image is too large or too small, very probably, you must set your computer to optimal resolution screen and/or the optimal frequency (vertical frequency) to your TV.

Step 1: To set the optimal resolution, follow these steps:
    a. Click Start > settings > Control Panel.
    (b) in the Control Panel window, double-click display. Display of the dialog box is displayed.
    c. click on the settings tab in the display dialog box. The settings dialog box is displayed.
    d. in the screen resolution section, move the cursor to the optimal resolution for your TV and then click OK.
    e. in most of the cases, the screen goes out for a moment or two and then re - appears in the new resolution, display a dialog box asking if you want to keep the new setting.
    f. click Yes.

Important: The Optimum resolution for your LCD TV should be included in the section display PC of your manual.

Step 2: To set the optimal refresh rate, follow these steps:
    a. Click Start > settings > Control Panel.
    (b) in the Control Panel window, double-click display. Display of the dialog box is displayed.
    c. click on the settings tab in the display dialog box. The settings dialog box is displayed.
    d. click the Advanced Options button at the bottom right of the dialog box.
    e. in the dialog box that appears, click the monitor tab.
    f. on the tab monitor in the monitor settings box, click screen refresh fall down, then 60 Hertz.
    g. click OK.

Note: We recommend that you also download and install the latest video card driver on your computer.

  • Qosmio X 500 - enternal monitor gets no signal

    Hello

It s come a time where I need an external monitor to extend my desktop. I plugged in one of my monitors to the laptop. Qosmio he sees but the screen does not receive a signal. Tried a 2nd monitor and it does the same thing, said cable not connected on 1 and power save on the other.

I tested the monitors and the cables on another laptop in the House and they work fine then it s down to the laptop. I tried hdmi on tv and that works fine, seems to be just the vga as the laptop see the monitor when connected does that mean the vga port is ok?

And could be something else? Any advice is welcome a soon.

    John

Your ad is a bit confusing to me and I do not see a clear structure. What you tested and the result is not clearly described.
    > I ve tried hdmi on tv and that works very well
How did you test? With your Qosmio or what?

Anyway, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. Try to test it again with TV. Connect your Qosmio to the TV using a HDMI cable, switch to HDMI to the TV port and use the FN + F5 key combination to switch between an LCD and TV screen.
    It work?
    > therefore seems to be just the vga as the laptop see the monitor when connected does that mean the vga port is ok?
How to understand this? Desktop appears on the screen when you use the VGA port?

  • A00 receives no Signal

Hi, I can't get this monitor to receive a signal from my computer.  He however appear in Device Manager and it even found an updated driver for it and installed it.  Which means that the computer records the device connected, but it still receives no signal?  That eliminates a problem of bad cable?  It eliminates a bad port problem?  Etc...

I plugged on a couple of different computers as well but still nothing.  I also connected another monitor in the same port on the computer, so I know that's not the computer.

    Thanks for any help, appreciated.

[Solved]  I just wanted to post this information for someone else who could get this problem.

I finally had the chance to try with a different cable and it works now.  So, even if he was in communication with the computer, which indicates that the cable wasn't working at a certain level, it was always 'bad '.  Somehow, he was not able to deliver an image even if it was transmitting data.

  • How/where to hook up 2nd monitor

I just got a new XPS 8700 with what appears to be TWO video - in ports, a DVI and a HDMI.  I use a configuration of two monitors with extended desktop view; a monitor has DVI, so I plugged into this port and it works fine.  The other monitor is old and has only VGA, so I bought a VGA--> HDMI adapter.  I guess this gets plugged into the video card HDMI port.

HOWEVER, there is another HDMI port, which is apparently a HDMI audio/video OUTPUT.  It makes no sense for the 2nd monitor into this port, because I don't mean to just output signal from the video card to a monitor/screen, but use TWO monitors at the same time and put in place the extended desktop view.

I'm a little confused by the existence of ports HDMI TWO, one on the video card (next to the DVI in), the other has a few inches apart.  There is also a display port, but I have no idea how to use. I don't want the top screw to the top of the machine or video drivers by plugging this old monitor in the wrong place.

All tips, suggestions, ideas, answers?  Thank you.

Yes, the configuration of your 2nd paragraph would be the correct way to do it. My only preference would be to connect the DVI monitor HDMI port with an adapter and plug the monitor VGA DVI port with the corresponding adapter.

If the HDMI to VGA is the 'decoder' then this configuration ^ ^ ^ would be much more profitable. The converter is usually at least $30 - $40, but the DVI to VGA and HDMI / DVI connectors can be acquired for around $15 - $20 for the pair.

As a manufacturer of computer I I would say that it does not matter if you connect your monitors with computer or offshore, but as a consumer on a Web site you need a guarantee of manufacture, I would say it would be the best idea ^_^

  • I closed FF in my 2nd monitor, now it opens only, why?

I moved from the 2nd monitor into the primary and closed it there. I've deleted ALL the cookies/history, I erased the Sessions. Nothing seems to make open upward in one monitor. This happened once before and I didn't fly over to the correct monitor and shut up and it worked fine. This time, I can't do what he's supposed to do. I really want to open on the monitor one because I don't always have it and it's really annoying when it opens here and I think I'm always waiting for him.

It is quite common that the programs Windows remember the location of the last closed window. Can you drag to the monitor 1 and shut up there next time? I see that did not work.

Otherwise, you can rename or delete the file that stores these positioning information. Unfortunately, that will also clear your toolbar customizations. Here's how:

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.

Switch back to Firefox and output

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename localstore.rdf to something like localstore.old

Restart Firefox. Toolbars and the position of the window must be restored to the default.

(Theoretically, it is possible to edit localstore.rdf if you want to try that first, but the format seems not well documented).

  • FF always opens in 2nd monitor

I have two monitors and sometimes to define my 2nd monitor as master during software testing. Go back to use my 1st primary monitor (using the display settings) I find FF does not take into account the changed value and will always open on the second monitor. Back to zero does not solve the problem. All other applications open in primary education.

A way to solve this problem?

If Firefox is maximized and then minimize the window and drag the window to the correct monitor and close Firefox to save the setting.

After the reboot, you can maximize again.

  • My Toshiba 22EL833G ceases to receive the signal from my Satellite U300 - 13H

    Hello

When I connect my laptop to the TV and turn it on, I first receive signal at the entrance to loading windows, but when it comes to enetring my password, stops the TV receives the signal. I'm sure that problem comes from the TV as when you use another screen, everything is ok.

Does anyone know what I can do?

Thank you all for your time

    Hello

What password do you mean exactly?

If you think the troublemaker is your TV then you're in big trouble.
Why? Because there's not a lot of parameters that could be changed.

You must ensure that you use HDMI right channel (I assume you are using HDMI connection). From my point of view, it is one and only parameters that must be set for television.

  • With the help of a 2nd monitor with HP ENVY bow 27-k009 TouchSmart all-in-One desktop PC

I would use a 2nd monitor with my HP all-in-one, but I can't figure out how to do this.  Our it guy says it can be done by using a VGA cord DMI but it does not work.  An another computer guy told me to get a USB cord with a graphics driver and technology at Best Buy told me that it is not possible to use a 2nd monitor with this all-in-one specific.  Please let me know if it is possible and how I would go to do.

    Here are the specifications of your HP ENVY tilted 27-k009 TouchSmart all-in - One desktop PC. Based on the specifications, this model, is a video output any. The HDMI port on the side is strictly an ENTRY;

    3 HDMI input

To connect your computer to an external monitor, you will need to buy an adapter USB-to-video, as EVGA UV plus + UV39 or many other cards on the market.

  • Qosmio G30-161: cannot receive the signals of TV in MCE

I recently bought the Qosmio G30-161 and have problems with watching TV via the media library. I get an error message that there is no signal. However another TV tuner I installed separately I'm not having any problems.

I read somewhere that this could be solved by installing the last disc of tv tuner. If anyone can confirm this? If Yes, when I try to download the player from Toshiba online support, which comes in a file zip, after extracting it I don't see an option to install it.

    Thank you

The second TV tuner installed on your Qosmio?
Have you tested to receive TV signals without the second tuner but only with Qosmio internal tuner?

  • Cannot receive TV signal from my cable box to my Qosmio F20 numerci

Hello everyone, I just bought a new laptop Qosmio F20, everything works well except the tv tuner.
I tried to plug in a cable SCART, a yellow cable / red / white and a cable to an antenna in my cell phone and my digital cable box (Atlanta 5400) but I can't receive any signal.
The best I can get is one second of the sound of the first string on each channel in windows media center.
I work as a computer technician, but impossible to find a solution to this problem, is there something special to do to receipt the TV on my laptop?
Hope to hear soon, thanks to all in advance

    Hello

Have you used the Qosmio Player or MCE?
As far as I know if you use MCE there is an option to select your TV signal. It must be defined on Satellite.
In addition, please read the manual for this device. Here you can find detailed information, descriptions and images about watching television.

In addition, you can view this topic:
