3 installs without permission

WIN XP SP3 - black month not yet installed Tuesday.

32 - bit

Running Essentials dry with the Windows Firewall.  All traces of previously installed AV etc removed with suitable tools and advice of experts registry entries. All auto updates inform only.

Three updates concerned-

KB2158563 - summer time

KB952287 - link in Add/Remove information showed this was Silverlight - link to MS updates the page showed that for MDCA.

KB976002 V5 - has shown in Add/Remove of Silverlight, but the link from there for more information gave me the choice of the browser of the Euro.

Around 19:00 yesterday [14 October], I started the computer and immediately got the browser choice window.  Read and rejected that I change it.  I expect monthly updates as I expected them as friends etc. had already got their.  No yellow shield.

When I went to Stuttgart down, upward came the little info thing say updates will be installed when I stop.  I cancelled and I went back and saw no yellow shield.  I looked into the Security Center and found me horror that the setting was dll and install on fully automatic.  I reset to inform only.

Then, I went into Add/Remove and seen that the above three KB numbers were there.  I deleted all three and removed their entries in C: Windows.

Restarted by avoiding any download - found that the 976002 was backagain.

It seems that this is not uninstalable.

Why were these three able to install, why was my choice of update to notify altered.

There is this addon that installs without permission. 'S called it funklyrics 1.122 it seems to be able to turn on even after being disabled. It seems the ride through an update. The program itself seems to be harmless but implements small adds trying to sell the item you want to. I disabled it just one more time it updated today to ver 1.122 on 16/07/2013

Is there a way to permanently remove this adware from Firefox?

Well I feel a little like a donkey, but I deleted it. After the answer of cor - el I started looking for more after trying to delete it in safe mode. Found a folder to x 86 programs named "FunkLyrics" looked around inside and saw an uninstall program. Well, I have no trust in it and used windows to remove it. Some "files in Google Chrome" was also in the file does not mean it has been installed by Chrome, but I just installed Chrome. in any case Windows removed and it shows no more in the Add-ons. Needless to say that I also removed Chrome. I decided that I really don't need. Firefox is good enough for me.

Thanks to everyone who helped me.

  • Flash player installs on several occasions without permission

I have several times uninstall the Plugin Adobe Flash Player 12 and ActiveX Adobe Flash Player 12. These two settle on several occasions without permission. In Options > Options > advanced > updates, I have the option "check for updates but let me choose whether to install" checked, and it has been like that for weeks. I work from home and I'm on the net all sources of new aggregation day and without flash I don't get bombarded with ads flash constants and sudden noises, loud. However, these two will settle at least twice a day, forcing me to uninstall them manually every time.

Cannot install plugins in Firefox. Plugins are software, like Firefox itself. They can only be installed by running the Setup program (.exe file).

Flash Player is required to browse some sites, so it is safer to disable rather than uninstall it. To do so,

    1. Press Ctrl + Shift + A to open the Add-ons Manager.
    2. Click on Plugins on the left.
    3. On the right, the Shockwave Flash value "never enable" to turn it off completely. You can also set it to "Ask to activate" to be invited to start when you browse a site that has Flash content.

If you insist to get rid of the Flash Player, there is an uninstall program that you can download to get rid of all installed versions. See the following page.

[Vista 32 bit] I returned this intrusion in the files to my PC and I always despise microsoft to decide to act like a pirate.  I'll give microsoft some time to answer this, but I expect to be as horrible as they are usually with the customer service.   So in a few weeks, I'll start to smear the name of microsoft as much as possible and sway anyone my possible to buy non-Microsoft products.

If you select the download updates but let me choose... option, no update will install without your approval. Suppose an update will require a reboot and does not approve the installation of an update until & unless you are ready to restart.

You can change the AU for the "updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" setting. Once you have done this, you will need to approve the updates are downloaded, the updates are installed and where they are installed.

I prefer "check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" setting.

  • without permission to download ocx

I try to run geovision - get message "without permission to download ocx" help please

    Hi mitz,

The reason why you get the error, 'without permission to download ocx' because you need to make changes to allow ActiveX.
You need to go to Internet Explorer and make some changes.

Go to tools, select Internet Options, then go to the Security tab and select Trusted Sites, then click the Sites button.
Click Add and add the Web site to the zone of confidence. Under security levels, click on the custom level button.  Use the scroll bar
and go to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins. For the settings, if permitted prompt Set or activate if the prompt is not available. Select ok
    and exit IE.

Then try again and see if you can run Geovision.

If this isn't the case, please answer back with errors and let us help you more.

  • Run Vista64 installation without back to their original factory condition?

Is there a way to run a Vista64 OS repair without having to return to their original factory condition?  I cloned my HD 600GIG that came in my a6530f to a GIG HD 1000 Pavilion and uses the original HD as an external drive for backup using an eSATA interface.  After that I cloned the drive everything seemed to work fine until I've tried use a restore point in the system recovery.  There is no and I can not activate the restore point feature to create new ones.  I remember seeing a windows repair feature in one of the programs control panel but can't find the program now.

Because HP does not include the VISTA64 is install disk there a way to run reinstall and do a system repair only, as there was on my XP installation disc?  I don't want to have to buy a drive VISTA64 Premium from Microsoft.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback.  I finally got the RESTORE POINT CREATION for work by first making the properties of the hard disk the in administrative tools in the control panel and filling the hard drive New and Old.  Where are the control points located on the hard drive?  I want to see if the old restore points are listed.  The restore point has been working fine on the old drive... I ran two hours before I changed the discs.  I used the Paragon Drive Copy 9 to clone the disk... very cheap and very easy to use.

  • Why User Account Control allow me on IE without permission after resetting IE

A few days ago I couldn't get on the Internet because IE would not work and internet connection was ok so out of desperation I did a reset of the EI. It still does not work then a member of the family came and got it works, but now I get the popup to permission to the user account control every time that I log on the desktop by clicking the shortcut of IE.  I went into the folder security and disabled UAC and now I only get this popup whenever I click on the desktop IE. This never used popup lights up when clicking on the shortcut of IE, so something must have happened when I did the reset Internet Explorer.  Does anyone know how to keep control of user account for all but IE?

I have a feeling that I accidentally changed a setting on IE and probably should not have an IE reset.but now the problem is that I like to keep the popup of User Account Control permission for everyone, but the IE shortcut on my desktop.

Furthermore, family member right clicking on the desktop for IE shortcut and did something with run as administrator to get IE working again.

My nephew looked at the problem that I had some time ago, but I told him to forget it because he really didn't have time to work on it. I just kept off UAC all these months and had no problems I do not download anything that I'm not sure. However, a few days ago I went back to this problem. I tried checking with the Compatibility tab, and as said above "Run as Administrator" was unchecked. This time I went to the contextual on properties of Internet Explorer and click on Advanced tab. Then I unchecked the run as Administrator box and I went back and UAC enabled and everything works well. Without UAC popups more!  I also did this for the exchange of information in the start menu and on the Quick Launch bar. For some reason any one on the keyboard had worked this time (he had not earlier) without a popup UAC even before I made the changes.  This is exactly what made me do some exploring more to see if I could get the other IE shortcuts to work.

I believe that another Member of my family who had helped me to get IE to work when I had problems to make on the internet even after a reset IE active the option "Run as Administrator". He has not been bothered by the popup and said if I was annoyed by it just turn off like he said I had a very good program antivirus (Norton) installed on my computer and it always warns you if a program you want to install is safe or not safe.

Hope this might help someone else who may have this problem.
