3 TB HARD drive does not work on PERC 6i

Hello

We bought Dell 3TO disks and install them in PE R710 with PERC 6i. Before you buy the disks, we checked online and he said that it is supported.  We have updated the firmware on it to the latest version.  BIOS is updated as well.

Firmware Version 6.3.3.0002
6.600.21.08 driver version
6.3.9600.17031 Storport driver version

It is the physical disk information below.

ID 0:0:1
Critical condition
Name of the physical disk 0:0:1
State has failed
Bus SAS Protocol
HARD drive support
Revision A100
T10 IP Capable No.
Capacity GB 0.00
Used 0.00 GB of RAID disk space
0.00 GB of RAID disk space
Hot spare no.
Vendor ID HITACHI
Product ID HUS723030ALS640
Serial number. YHK2RS3G
Part number is not available
512b sector size
Manufacturing day of is not available
Week of manufacture is not available
Year of manufacture is not available
SAS address 5000CCA01AAE128D

What should we do for the PERC to detect these drives?  He sees some 450 GB drives with no problems.

Derwiche woul you to replace existing SAS cables. If you are using 2.5-inch disks you need two R145M part number. If you are using 3.5-inch disks you need to N170M SAS 0 part number and part P110M for SAS 1 number.

The same problem. I bought edition 2015 last fall. It has a power supply problem (electrical problems). I thought it's because of my laptop. He made her crazy, but SMART was ok. • External USB 3.0 HARD drive does not work on USB 3.0 port

    Hello guys,.

I have a problem with my external HARD drive and the problem is that it is USB 3.0 feature does not work in my computer.

The curious thing is that it works very well in the SATA port or a normal USB 2.0 port.

Y at - it a failure with the HARD drive or is there something wrong with my motherboard (M5A99 fx pro r2.0)?

    Thanks in advance.

From my point of view of the few is not HARD drive problem because the HARD drive operates in a USB 2.0 port.

I m wondering if you tried to update the USB 3.0 driver.
Have you tried this HARD disk in another computer / USB 3.0 ports?
I think that its worth a check.

Also, I read on some problems of USB 3.0 controller from different manufacturers.
Sometimes, it might be possible that some problems of compatibility between different devices may arise.

  • External hard drive does not work properly

    Hi all

It is a slightly different external HARD drive problem.  I had my faithful media ATMT bin since my first laptop with XP (2003) and I bought it in 2005.  It's a little wobbly as the fan vibrates a lot, but this isn't a problem.  What is the problem, is that I have a windows machine 7 who thinks that drive a need to put in shape, but my previous laptop which has vista on it was absolutely no problem to read the files IN ALL and you can open one of them without a hitch.  I tried to run CHKDSK I:\I (it is labeled as the I drive :) and 7 claims that it is in the format RAW.  I had a look at CHKDSK on my old machine and it is in FAT32, I since changed it to NTFS, but seems to have no effect.  I also tried the hunting of the drivers for the external hard drive, but I come only through links to Amazon as these things are always available.

I really need to access this drive on my current computer as the older one needs a considerable cooling method to make it work therefore the latest machine.  What I also don't understand, it's that it was working absolutely fine on this machine too until quite recently.  He worked on it that I need, but have not been accessed for a while and so solutions in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time.

    RM

Your drive has reached its copy by date and it works on time taken (if he is stil)

If this does not work on another PC then it's probably dead.

You can try the utility disk SeaTools from Seagate to check and see if it can detect and report on the drive

  • Canvio Plus 2.5 "1 TB external HARD drive does not work with USB 3.0

I've had this drive for about a month.

    I am on Windows 7

I can only operate by connecting to USB 2.0 ports. It is then visible in 'My Computer'.

If I connect to USB 3.0, it turns on the case but does not appear in 'My Computer'.

I tried it on all my USB ports 3.0 - up on one and two in the back of my case.

I checked my BIOS and USB 3.0 is enabled.

I tried to follow the suggestions in the user manual, but the drive does not appear in the management of so connected devices on USB 3.0, but it does when connected in USB 2.0.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

As much as I know the Windows 7 system requires installation of additional USB 3.0 driver.

Many laptops and computers use USB 3.0 driver that was released by Intel... it is because of Intel chipset...

I guess that USB 3.0 is already installed, but probably you need to update the driver at least to the newest version...

  • Satellite M30x - new HARD drive does not work

    Hello.

I am installing a new ATA 2.5 "internal hard drive for my Toshiba M30X-166. The drive is a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 120 GB model. The laptop does not recognize the disc and no related error message appears, and in the BIOS, it shows as "HD not available."

I put this drive in an external USB - IDE enclosure and was detected by my desktop PC, and I was able to partition and format the Momentus, so I know the drive is indeed work, but my M30X still does not detect the drive.

What can I do to make the laptop recognize this unit? The BIOS M30X is: Phoenix EAL20 version 1.90.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello!

Have you tried another HARD drive? The new HARD drive is may not compatible with the laptop or does work does not correctly.

Normally, a 120 GB HARD drive should work because the laptop has a limitation of LBA 28 bits and so you can only use hard drives 120 GB.
In the worst cases, the HARD disk on the motherboard controller is defective :(

  • STOR. E partner HARD drive does not work with USB 2.0

    Hi all

I recently purchased a 1 TB STOR. E partner HDD and it worked without any problems on my laptop Macbook Pro which has only USB 2.0 ports.

A few days ago, the HARD drive has been disconnected from the laptop without ejecting first, and now it isn't recognized more than my laptop.

I tried on a PC Windows with USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports and discovered that it is recognized when I plug in the port 3.0 but not on version 2.0.

What should I do to have the HARD drive works again with USB 2.0?

    Many thanks in advance,

    > I tried on a Windows PC with USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports and discovered that it is recognized when I plug in the port 3.0 but not on version 2.0.

  • HARD drive does not work on a broadcast 2450-201

    I have a satellite S2450-201 which I can't start.

Whenever I tried to start it, it returns an error message relating to a LAN cable disconnected. As it is not on a LAN I removed the LAN in the BIOS boot priorities, and then it would only boot from the recovery disc. On the running recovery disk, it returns the size of the HARD drive (34 GB), then 'number of invalid partition' flashes then through another screen before finally returning the message

    !!!!!!!!! ERROR!
    Extraction failed...

I believe this means that the system cannot communicate with / find the HARD drive, even if it identifies the size of the HARD drive.

If the HARD drive is dead, is there a quick diagnosis that I have done or there at - it another fix fast/good market? If not is there something else I can do with the laptop away to see to what extent I can frisbee by the window?

    Hello

There are two possibilities; the HARD drive is dead and you need a new or HARD drive is ok and it of only necessary to format the HARD drive again!

In my opinion, the HARD drive works because the size of the HARD disk has been reported correctly. But the partition on the HARD drive could be the problem.
So delete all partitions, format the HARD drive and try to reinstall the OS from the CD recovery again!

good luck and please post back your results!

  • External 2.5 HARD drive does not work

I have a problem with my external HARD drive. All of a sudden it stopped working. When I connect it to my laptop, it will not work. When I listen to this sound it while trying to read, it's like the head is the jump. Maybe the drive is not able to turn, or something like that. Is it possible to repair this error? Please tell me how I could save my data on the disk. Thank you

The HARD drive has two USB plugs?

Perhaps it needs more power, then connect the two connectors and see how it goes.

Or connect it to a desktop computer to make sure its ok.

I have the problem with the hard drive on my Satellite L40 - 14B. disk hard single beep 0.o and system work slowly...
    Drive is Toshiba MK1237gsx...
SMART is normal but spin retry count value is 114 100...
    10 x for help :).

Yes, the backup data is really not a bad idea to be honest, this is the best you can do.

I remember my first HARD drive crash. It was horrible because it happened all of a sudden.

I heard that a low, high noise from the HARD drive and after restarting again the HARD drive died.

As you can see this drive crash HARD could happen and it s advisable to back up the data before the death of HARD drive.
