30 - Qosmio F-113: no sound after installing WinXP Pro

I installed Windows XP Professional on my Qosmio F30-113 (preinstalled system is WinXP MCE).
All devices work properly except for the audio card.
It not there no sound anywhere, but in Device Manager, it seems, there is no problem with any device.

I tried to install the audio driver (sound-qf30-xpmce - 51049460.zip) TOSHIBA-Center download - but after restarting Windows install tells me, that the current system doesn't support driver, which I am trying to install.

What should I do? Which driver to use?

Hello

It's very strange. As far as I know that the driver can also be used with WXP Home and Pro. There is no difference. You are right on the sound card. Your laptop has an its SigmaTel STAC9200D card and the driver is SigmaTel HD Audio driver V5.10.4946.0.

I don't know how did you install all the drivers, but I hope that you did this in the order of good facilities. The order of good facilities, you can find after downloading the install Instructions document.

First of all buddy you need to update the XP to the last State. I mean to install the XP2 and all patches and fixes available!

Then you must download all the available drivers, tools and utilities for XP and should install it in the right order.

The right installation order is mentioned in the installation instructions txt file.

  • 3110CT no sound after installing XP Pro

I am a novice when it comes to laptops, so here's the problem: my 3110 ct no sound after installing XP Pro. Had no noise when I bought it with another operating system, the report says no audio devices installed.

Does this mean that I have to make a chip for laptop or a driver, I need & where can I find the driver or the part for this.

    Help, please.

Usually, if the audio driver is not installed you will get no sound, but also a yellow exclamation point must appear in Device Manager.

If the sound card chip is damage, I imagine that you will not be able to see the yellow exclamation point belonging to the sound card in Device Manager.

You bought this Portege as a second hand unit. Am I wrong?
So maybe the sound card is faulty.

The computer uses an ES1978 ESS (Maestro-2E) and sound chip ES1918.
Check if you can find an audio driver XP in internet.

    1. download Microsoft's KB835221 hotfix
    2. Remove "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus"
    3. install KB835221
    4. reboot the system
    5 XP automatically detects devices
    6. after that you don't need, but you can install the realtek drivers

  • Switch to native SATA after install WinXP Pro?

I have a compaq presario C306us with a kind of chipset mobile Intel 940-family that is currently being displayed in the disk SATA controller device manager

"Intel 82801GBM/GHM ICH7 - M family Serial ATA" showing a driver as provided by Intel, as of 23/05/2005, version 7.0.0.1020
That all said, I'm not sure it's the right driver, or best driver for the device - it is extraordinarily difficult to determine what is right for this chipset [plethora of posts on the topic anywhere on the web].
The system works with the disabled SATA, it means Compaq say 'Compatibility ATA Mode' :)
Switching the bios "SATA" will result in bootloop.
There are messages here and there on the tech forums that support there is a way to implement the system I have now it, point to a source for driver update driver install, install it, restart and go to the BIOS and switch to native and it should work.
Such a position that seems well detailed is the following:

SIW reports the northbridge as i940/943 and video shows i945GM
HP publishes only a softpaq Intel Matrix Storage for this model, and he's wearing an older driver than what I currently loaded.
HP has a manual on a similar model but sectors of this platform, which details the various solutions and workarounds for this problem.  The instructions after the fact are similar to the but not exactly that of the blogger above.
I would move this little laptop to a SSD drive, but without solving this issue, it would be a bit of waste.
I can't get this working and need help from someone more light I have.
    Please help if you can.

for the sake of others who have this problem and get the same zero responses as I did, I will post the solution.

Intel crashes their drivers in CAB files so that, in the case of this particular implementation, simply run the executable does not create a folder anywhere that includes all the necessary driver extracted and available files. to make things worse, the cab files are protected by Word and no one I know has the 'key '. so even if microsoft and other kind souls after a procedure to enable real SATA mode, we need to find the drivers.
These drivers have been posted by some kind and knowledgeable on download.com soul.  This person obviously understood the catch22, extracted the drivers and their publication in a usable form there.
for reasons that I don't understand, just go to the Device Manager, pulling up the pane driver SATA device and point the wizard to the necessary driver "update" the file on the hard drive will not accomplish the goal.  Instead, copy the files to a usb flash drive and point the wizard on this device to extract the files.  Once that is done, restart the system and immediately call setup/BIOS and SATA to legacy mode SATA mode switch.  Save and let the system startup normally.  When windows is in place and connected, it will finish the task of updating all the devices associated with the controller [in my case the ICH7-M].  Then, the system must be restarted once more for all changes to take effect.  You are finished.  Finally

    Hello

It's old model of laptop, and all pilots must work. I'm sure you make a mistake. On this old notebook, you must install Windows XP Home SP1 edition and after doing this install all patches software, driver chipset, driver and driver sound to the less rated. The sound should work fine.

If you have laptop model please download the drivers from the EMEA support page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

  • Satellite L350D - 12 M PSLE0E - no sound after installing Win XP

    Hello

I installed Win XP SP3 on my Tosh laptop.
I have everything works except the sound.

We know of a compatible for this model sound card driver in XP.
I downloaded the bucket full of HD and AC97 Realtek drivers, but none seems not to work.

I'm really struggling with this one and do not want to go back to Vista.

Reall any help is appreciated. Robbie.

    Hello

I had the same problem with sound after installing XP everything seemed fine but no sound!

    I found a solution;
You need to install the MS patches; KB835221 and KB888111
These hotfixes must be installed before installing driver sound!

But I put t know how it works with SP3. I think that you need to remove the SP3 first and then you could install the patches mentioned.

However, once the patches have been installed, you must follow with the Realtek HD audio driver installation. The latest driver should be placed also on the Realtek page too.

Well, in my case it worked so it should work on your laptop too!

  • Problems with sound after installing Vista Ultimate SP1 on HP Pavilion Dv4

I lost sound after installing Vista SP1 Ultimate on my HP Pavilion Dv4... everything was fine before. Help, please.

Go to the HP support website and search for Windows Vista drivers for your specific model number. Also look for recent updates, even if your PC comes with Windows Vista preinstalled.
    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/support.html

If there are Vista drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the installation card mother/chipset drivers, then the SATA, LAN, Audio, drivers and other device drivers.

    Hello

What version of Windows XP that you have installed?
I ask this question because the SP3 for XP contains important updates for the sound card drivers, they needed for their work.

After installing SP3, you can download the audio driver from Toshiba Web site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

    Check this box!

  • Satellite U300-14Z - no sound after installing WIn7

    Hello!
I have the problem (series Satellite PSU30E) next: laptop computer was Windows XP, who suddenly "fallen" and again once it has not issued (as explained by problem SATA drivers). I installed Windows 7 64 bit, but after installing it turned out that the * Device Manager has no audio device *. I reinstalled the system, is now a Windows7 Ultimate x 86 license.

All options work, but the sound did not always appear. Installing the drivers doesn't help - * OS still does not see a sound card *. What could be the tools to solve the problem?

    Hi whooz,.

Is that what you have already installed the audio driver from Toshiba Web site? As far as I know Satellite U300 supports Windows 7 32 bit then an audio driver should be listed and works because readers are pre-tested by Toshiba.

But it is also important that you install the chipset driver and should be installed first. So start with installing the audio driver.

Also, try to load the default settings in the BIOS.

  • Re: No sound after install Vista - Tecra M7

I improved my Tecra M7 to Vista (and then upgraded to Vista SP1) but the computer is no longer plays sounds (no music, no sound system - nothing)

I installed the latest Realtek HD driver, I have the latest version of the Bios.

Device Manager indicates that everything is working. "Speaker" icon tells me that his work (the green bar follows the beat of the music)

The volume & button Mute works - I can't get the "speaker" modifying, turning to the top/bottom/inhibition icon. I tried the headphones in and out.

I checked the bios if the sound card has been disabled it - but it seems that there is no possibility to change the settings of the sound card in the bios.

Does anyone have an idea on what I'm doing wrong here?

    Maybe I can help you;

I read on a sound problem after installation of Vista it happened if XP was preinstalled on your laptop and the mute box was accidentally activated.
