311c-1120EC: compaq mini 311 & mSATA SSD

Hello

Please, is this model mSATA port for mSATA SSD HDD? I'm not sure... Is - this Port SSD mSATA or modem WAN?

Thank you...

Here is the Manual:

Manual

See pp. 4-13. It is a WWAN port and would not recognize a storage mSATA device.

See p. 4-18 for the installation of the hard disk. Should be a SATA SSD.

  • Inspiron 17R N7110 mSATA Mini (half size) SSD

    Hello

I want to upgrade my laptop Inspiron 17R N7110 with a SSD for Windows boot. I have only one place where the HARD drive is already integrated and I want to keep the HARD drive.

When I remove the dust inside the laptop the fan I saw the "mini card" (half) - Slot Machines. In one, I have WIFI, but the otherone is empty. So my idea was to add a Mini mSATA (half size) SSD.

I saw this on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/MyDigitalSSD-Super-Cache-HybriDisk-Software/dp/B00JF4CUBO/ref=pd_cp_pc_0

But I don't know if that would work (such as boot drive for Win8). Make this shape as a (half) "mini card"? Is SATA III to this slot machine supported? What I have to change in the BIOS?

    Thanks to all who responded.

The hybrid propulsion system is the best option for this (short to get a full SSD) system - there is no way to put an mSATA SSD in this system.

The system supports standard, 2.5 "hard drives up to 9.5 mm height.

  • HP Compaq mini 311c Bluetooth Software

    Hello

The Bluetooth Broadcomm software supplied with the hp Compaq mini 311C is just horrible, slow and prone to disconnect .

I used to enjoy BlueSoleil, which was quick and reliable .

It is, I can't handle having the Bluetooth port to be recognized by BlueSoleil .

I opened a ticket in BlueSoleil but maybe another user of mini 311C is already more chance than me ?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Good evening

    The latest version of BlueSoleil 6.4.314.3 manage the integrated 802. 11b / g WLAN / Bluetooth module combo VID_03F0 & PID_2A1D & REV_0207.

    Find the software at http://www.bluesoleil.com/products/Default.aspx?TID=10

However, some twicks are necessary: drivers hardware Broadcom must kept while of Broadcom Bluetooth stack managers need to be removed.

A simpler solution is to avoid the Bluetooth stack managers to be loaded at startup.  Use Autoruns of SysInternals utility to uncheck of Broadcom Bluetooth stack managers.

  • Compaq Mini 110: Polarity of power supply jack

    Hello

I have a HP/Compaq Mini 110 that was given to me because both the battery and the AC adapter was lost. I have a power supply of the correct voltage (19 VDC) and can get an outlet of the right size. I need to know what the polarity of the plug must be, for example, is the center of the end positive or negative? I also need to know if the computer will be also powered if one battery (even dead) is not installed. If it will power-up with the polarity a/c adapter, I'm going to buy a battery, otherwise I don't lose money. Shame on HP/Compaq to not show a pictorial of polarity on the camera body. If I can get going, have enough moxie upgrade to Windows 10? Thank you.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See p. 54 on the hard drive. She straight plug the motherboard, but it shows a cart or make sledding which does not move there and the SSD is welded to a SATA connector. For some time I took one of these apart.

He's a regular SATA and the size limit, it's what is on the market, not the hardware, so you could theoretically install a 2 TB or a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. You could probably get one inch 80 gig SATA SSD 2.5 for a pittance and it would run as well as he is capable of running.

The memory you have is DDR2-800, but the system he clocks up to speed DDR2-533.

The power Jack is soldered to the motherboard and there is no way I know to stretch upward. A lot of youtube videos on the welding on a new jack and you can find the plug for a few dollars. It is not a work that I do, but I saw several times and I think you can probably manage it if you have the soldering equipment.

  • Satellite A210-248 does not recognize the 840 ECO mSATA SSD

I want to build in my Satellite A210-248 on the port of msata ssd.

When I build in the ssd bios dind't find the ssd, so I can't install windows in the ssd

    Hello

Satellite A210 does not support port mSATA and therefore the mSATA SSD module cannot be used.
Probably, you have found a mini-PCI on the motherboard slot. It certainly looks like mSATA but its not the same thing.

  • Satellite U400 - 12 p and mSATA SSD

    I have the Satellite U400 - 12 p.
The motherboard has two free slots miniPCI if they install mSATA SSD OCZ AC Nocti - MSATA - 120G, for example in these slots?

I agree with Akuma. Satellite U400 is old enough laptop model and its standard SATA port, you cannot use reader with connector mSATA (mini-SATA).
the mSATA discs are smaller and designed for use on the netboos and ultraportable notebooks.

  • Compaq mini c110: problem starting Compaq mini c110

    Hello

I have compaq mini c110 and when I start it up it gets to the windows loading screen and then it restarts every time. So I decided to reinstall windows. I tried with windows 7, I get the first screen where I choose language after that when I press on install it just "freezes". I waited 2 hours to get to the partitions so I can format them and install windows but nothing happened. Then I tried to install windows XP, I got to the part where he asks me what partition I want to install windows and when I select it it starts formatting and after 20 or 40% in fact, it gave me error that my hard drive is damaged and could not be partitioned.

I want to know if I should buy a new hard drive in this case, I would like to buy ssd or is something wrong with my mbr, I would get another message if it's defective mbr and how could I solve this problem? Or maybe it's completely another thing?

  • B560 and MSATA SSD

    Hi all

The hard drive is recently went out on B560 sister and to add some speed to this laptop, as well asleave the option open for further expansion with a 2.5 "drive, I ordered and Nocti OCZ 60 GB MSATA SSD. Popped it right into the MSATA hole opened in the area hard drive right next to the wifi card. However, it is not recognized in the BIOS or by a Windows 7 installation disc.

    Help?

    Thank you

    AD

Lenovo B560 won't work with msata SSD.

The combination of BIOS and mini PCI slot in the laptop was not designed for the storage drives.

I handed my msata SSD and I bought a used 2.5 "SSD. The old HD is now external with a Sata to USB adapter.

  • Envy 15-j051sa mSata SSD Cache TS

Envy TS 15-j051sa mSata SSD Cache for the 1 TB 5400 HGST HTS541010A9E680.

The manual States "Support for the SSD drive 24-GB mSATA (not available on computer models equipped with system - 16834 memory or 12288-Mo)". As I have all the conditions, Intel processor, 8 GB of ram, the question is can I just install it and everything works as if by magic?

Or what I need to do anything about it, or to perform any installation? I noticed Intel RST is running and that the system is working normally.

Any help or experience would be helpful (apart from the disk of 1 TB of pit and replace it with a large SSD!).

    Thank you.

OK, for someone else to end up here

    It worked for me:

    • Bought a 24 GB SSD mSata off eBay (very cheap).
    • Make sure that it is the type of partition MBR (I used an external box with Mini PCI-E to SATA 22Pin mSATA).
    • Make sure that the Intel Rapid Start technology is disabled in the Bios. (Appears only if the mSata is installed).
    • Windows 8 (.1) boot in SafeMode (this is where I'm wrong).
    • Run the Intel Rapid Storage Technology-> Performance-> activate acceleration.
    • Reset (it works!)
    • Activate the technology Intel Rapid boot in the BIOS (I don't know if it improves things, seems to work OK without him)

A start power button to start screen for ready office is 17-18 seconds. Note that I have several services running SQL 2008 R2 Server and all the HP utilities installed as new.

  • ProBook 6450 b (ATI): the upgrade of my Probook with mSATA SSD

Hello! ProBook 6450 b. I want to upgrade my computer with mSATA SSD drive. I've got slot free mini-PCIE (what is expected for the WWAN card). The problem is that I don't know if this Probook (updated of course!) BIOS supports modyfications like this. Can anyone help?

    Kind regards!

I happen to be sitting here with his cousin the 6530 b working on it for a friend and I can tell you that it is earlier than mSATA WSSD readers. The crack is only for a WWAN card. If you put a disc mSATA in it the computer does not respond.

  • Volume shadow copy error after moving to MSATA SSD on R7 - 572

A while back I cloned the value default 1 TB SATA drive on an MSATA SSD plugged into the slot unit MSATA.

At the time I had been unable to conceive the MSATA as boot drive, while the original (also bootable drive) was in the system such that it does not appear in the BIOS from startup list.

    http://community.Acer.com/T5/S-and-R-series-laptops/cloned-SSD-in-Boot-Manager-but-not-boot-priority...

As I did not need the 1 TB, I just removed and have used the system very well with just the MSATA SSD.

Today, I tried to make an Image of Windows backup system and ran a (below) Volume shadow copy error

Volume shadow copy service operation failed. (0x807800A1)

Writer has encountered a transient error... (0x800423F3)

I check all the main remedy online by ensuring that all VOlume shadow copy served are running, but without success. I feel that the fact that I'm on the SSD MSATA which was not visible in the list of the BIOS boot maybe being tied to the backup crashing.

Anyone running the R7-572 on the MSATA port that is able to make a system image backup?

    Thanks for your comments

It took me awhile, but I finally understood what was preventing the creation of the image of the system.

Looking at the event viewer, he had a lot of mistakes, the first mistake we a CAPI2 with event 513, then it was a VSS error with event ID 8228 stating an invalid character in an XML file.

    Error says:
Do not parse the XML file.
Reason, an invalid character was found in text content.
    Line 0x000003c0
Position 0x000009c8, the file below is damaged.
    0xc00ce508 error code
    Text problem<>

Search through dozens of threads and try a number of bugs without success, I finally found one who mentioned their question came from bad characters in the names of partition after cloning with EaseUs Todo backup.

It's the tool that I used to clone my drive to a SSD, I decide to check it out.

The thread mentioned using GPT fdisk utility found on sourceforge, so I downloaded the tool.

You just run the executable in administrator mode. Find how to use it was a little hard, but basically the commands below does the job

0:-enabled disk 0, which is my drive.

I - to view the information on each partition

It will ask you the number. This allows you to see the names. Some of my partitions had some very strange names did not, we had a quote.

I checked what names when used on another laptop and decided to appoint mine as follows (I think you can use any name)

first 600 MB partion: database partition

Second partition of 300 MB: EFI system partition

Thrid 128 MB partion: Microsoft Reserved partition

    Fourth 205GB partition: partition database

Fifth 17 GB partition: partition recovery

To change the name of the partition, use the command

c ask for the number of the partition, then the name

    Then save with

w - written revisions and outputs

I rebooted, tried the system image backup and no problem this time.

I lost a full day on this topic, so I hope it can help someone else in the future

  • X131e - msata ssd ThinkPad

    Hello

I ordered a x131e thinkpad and I'm currently waiting for delivery.

At the same time, I would like to order an msata ssd card to install in one of the two mini pci-e ports (for the installation of the OS).

I saw in the hardware maintenance manual p63-64 (http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/x131e_en_hmm_0b48698_01.pdf ) that the msata ssd card can be installed in the WWAN card slot full size.

    Issues related to the:

-the slot for WWAN card full size is free by default... I guess that Yes, because the wireless card that comes with X131e is a half size Intel Centrino wireless - N 2230, which should be in the other mini pci-e slot (known as the wireless LAN slot)?

-What is the size of the msata ssd card that could be installed in the free location? There are several length of the msata ssd card (25, 50 and 70 mm)... I guess it is 50mm?

-There are different types of cards msata ssd: sata2 or sata3... make thinkpad x131e sata3 msata ssd card support?

Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad English level

    Visegrad,

Given that the integrated SATA controller is SATA2, it will probably support mSATA2. I hope that this solves all your questions. If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask!

And once again, thank you Visegrad to be part of the community of Lenovo.

  • mSATA SSD as drive Bootable - Inspiron 17R 5720

    Thus,.

I desperately need the SSD speed.

I know that I can use caching to intesl commands, but I can't!

    • Intel® Smart Response Technology: This technology takes advantage of the speed of the SSD in caching where frequently used information is stored on the SSD instead of hard drive.
    • Intel® QuickStart technology: this technology allows the system to boot with - in seconds after the hibernation.
This is what I want to do, put a 128 GB SSD drive mSATA in the slot, windows in the fire and use it as my OS & APPS, (c drive) drive, and then use the existing drive, the 1 TB of mechanical drive as the drive for storage (drive d).
The dell site, say I can't use an MSATA SSD started with--I see no why!
    Can someone advise?
Also, I can't find the mSATA specification... dunno if its 3 SATA or SATA 2.
    Thank you

    Yes it worked perfectly.

Mine has been running for more than a year.

    Install mSATA

    Disconnect the HARD drive temporarily

Set as Bootable mSATA in bios.

    Install windows on USB msata,

    Connect the HARD return drive.

You now have mSATA as drive C: and the old 1 GB HARD drive as d: or e: drive. But you can change to the d: drive if it goes as a e reader, as mine did.

IM opting out this thread now. It works and has been confirmed repeatedly. Buy the disc and crack on with it.
