  My computer has had one of these "updated Windows critical update" and installed automatically. Subsequently, he wouldn't have Firefox. Firefox hasn't crashed - he just never started running in the first place. The more information I could get is that Firefox was now incompatible. Malwarebytes is able to connect to the internet, but not to my browser. I did a system restore before the update and everything works for now, but it's only a temporary fix.

  Hello Catffs, please start firefox in safe mode (by pressing the shift key, while it launches) & go firefox > options > advanced > general & disable hardware acceleration.

  Adobe Flash not crushed and no error message is visible. All that shows is a black screen for Flash video. Make a right click of the screen shows only a non-interactive 'a film has not loaded' and the clickable link to the home page of Adobe.

  The anti-phishing protection and malware that Firefox uses checks against a list of websites that have been reported to contain a form of malware and then alerts you. Firefox itself does not scan files to see if they contain viruses/malware. You still need a form any anti-virus and anti-malware protection. You must also use a firewall.

  As for which is better, you are likely to get many different answers, it's a topic that generates a lot of discussion. A product one person loves will be hated by someone else. I use Microsoft Security Essentials as well as Windows Firewall.

  I would recommend that you put your computer in a clean boot in SafeMode State, then try to uninstall Symantec Endpoint and check if that helps.

  a program has been uninstalled (Symantec Endpoint Protection)
  After have rebooted and still have problems to install a newer version, I decided to do a system
  Restore prematurely, I uninstalled the original version.
  (Since I couldn't find the installation files or my license info)

  The old version worked again.  Now I am able to start the
  new version, the old version will not uninstall.

  It just sits there in a small box with a bar saying Windows of progression
  in the configuration of Symantec Endpoint Protection and it remains as it
  for as long as I left, at least 25 minutes.

  I thought that the system restore would put things back exactly as they
  have been, but it's apparently not the case.

  OT: Impossible to uninstall after system restore

  Any ideas on that?

  I was able to cirumvent the problem by a selective startup in Msconfig.

  I disabled all startup items, all services not MS, restarted and then uninstalled

  successfully.  However, I met another strange problem.

  After uninstalling old version, I rebooted (the system was still selective

  startp) I put a new restore point and installed the new version successfully.

  Later, realizing msconfig has been arrived at "selective", I went and

  has tried to return to Normal startup.  However, when you select normal

  and hit 'apply', it immediately jumps to selective.  I have never seen it before.

  I didn't know how to solve.

  Instead, I uninstalled the new version of the AV program, jumped to the restore point

  I did before I installed, rebooted, open Msconfig and have been correctly set up

  In normal mode.  Then reinstalled the AV.

  Everything is OK now.

  You ever heard of this problem of msconfig before?

  We are currently allowing scanning of virus for PT 8.53 with v12 of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP). However, we are unable to set it up properly. Our implementation looks like this:

  * PS webserver is insatalled on server 1, is where configure us the virusscan.xml file

  * 12 SEP is installed on a separate server, Server 2. client and MS manager is installed on this server.

  * Operating system is Windows 2008 R2 64-bit for both servers.

  May I ask if anyone here have successfully used MS for the scanning of attachments?

  Unfortunately, by oracle, only symantec scan engine has been certified to work with peoplesoft, other versions are not tested yet to work.

  Another question, what should be the value for the virusscan.xml below parameters?

  8014 port is the port of the client for MS communication and it is the only port that gives us an answer (INFO: receive OPTIONS header = HTTP/1.1 200 OK...) (etc.), when we try other ports, we get a "SERIOUS: unable to connect to SymantecManagementClient" message on this line.

  Just to give you an update. We were able to do this work, but we used Symantec motor Protection for the Cloud Services instead. In addition, for anyone having problems with the parameters-, we used the same exact settings in Peoplebooks or on the file virusscan.xml provided, just update the IP address. Save the xml file on the Portal.war and the PSIGW.war directories.

  My company is currently just getting started with AppAsssure, we are on the latest version of 5.4.3.106. We have base and incremental images going and its been a lot of work. This week, we are putting in place a replica "off-site" server when we started to notice the size of our recovery points. They are all between 1-3 + GB every night, its looked at as this has been the case since the implementation, but we didn't pay much attention to size here since it's local past. We are now concerned because we have 20 + servers that must replicate to the amount of bandwidth replication night will take and possible the strain on our network.

  In recent two nights that we ran Diskpulse to see the changes that are occurring on servers that are the cause of being so high, it seems that Symantec EndPoint Protection is a BIG culprit, but also a windows journal file called dism.log. Anyone have any suggestions on changes we can make to APpassure, Symantec or hat Windows would contribute to decrease the amount of changes that are made to help with the size of our incremental backups?

  So I was testing my Firefox with extensions disabled when I clicked on 'Restore Firefox' by mistake. Have I lost all my extensions because of this? Apparently I still have my passwords, history and even cookies, but I got a lot of extensions that are now gone.

  The extensions are removed during the update. Check the 'old data Firefox' that has been placed on the desktop.

  I have attached a screenshot showing how to select restore automatic session just above the setting of the Home Page where it says "When Firefox starts".

  With this set, you can restart Firefox manually out using the menu-

  • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
  • (menu bar) File > Exit

  -and then restart Firefox.
