3490CT internal wireless?

The 3490CT will have an internal wireless card? I guess the question is there a mini PCI slot? I know the Portege 2000 and it is an older model, I think, is going to model number.

Thank you

Hello

AFAIK there is no mini PCI Wireless card slot. Currently, there are no wireless inside the laptop.

Portege 2000 is portable to new generation and you can't compare it with some old notebooks. ;)

Good bye

I have Tecra 9100. Recently he started to act strange. Sometimes (rarely), it cannot find its internal wireless card or / and hang (freeze). When I check the device manager card is simply not there. After the reboot, the map pops up sometimes, but not for long.
I checked the event viewer, but the only Error Message is:
    Source: Service Control Manager
    Event ID: 7000
Description: The OrangeWire USB enhanced host controller service could not start because of the following error: the specified driver is invalid.

2 USB ports are working perfect. What is the link between that message and the internal wireless card?
Any ideas how to fix? I'm with Windows XP SP2.
    Thank you.

I put t think the WiFi problem could be related to the USB enhanced host controller service. I don t see a consistency

You can try several steps; first try to install the latest driver WLan.
Access card WLan (device-> Properties Manager) properties, and then clear the option to save energy.
Additionally, you will find different option in the Advanced tab.
I can t Advisor was 100% what options need to be changed because each wireless network card supports different function.

Whatever the case the advice above will not help not I think there could be something wrong with the OS files or registry keys.
In this case, it would be very interesting to know if the installation of clean operating system might help.

  • Satellite A660 - Broadcom internal wireless adapter does not work

    Hi all

My first post to this forum - I have a new laptop of Toshiba Satellite A660 - only had for about 4 weeks and it turns out be a disaster for me...

Firstly - I spend weeks getting everything on and configured as I want - then the hard drive begins to die...

I just returned it service center Toshiba and NOW wifi has stopped working...
Internal broadcom wireless adapter doesn't work - but according to windows and built-in Diagnostics it works...

HOWEVER - when I try to use wireless with the built-in adapter may not detect all wireless networks...

I then plug in my adapter netgear usb wireless backup and I can pick up and connect both of my wireless home networks...
I am moving abroad in a few weeks and need to know that my laptop will work/be reliable and not have any problems-if anyone can help me with this, it would be much appreciated.

  • Atheros 5007 won't stay connected to the Netgear WNR3500 router internal wireless

I just bought a new laptop Compaq CQ60-420us (nw156ua) a week ago. Machine comes with Vista Home Premium and I installed Win7 rc1 64 on another partition.

Initially I could not it remains connected to my router for more than 15 minutes approximately. I just press the wireless button to turn it off and turn it back on. Who would fix it for about 15 minutes.

I called HP support, they tried many things including for me to do a factory restore.  They finally decide to send me a new wireless card. I received the new card yesterday, had it installed and it is essential to do the same thing. Last night, I dug an older linksys wireless router that I have used in the past. Hooked upward and the laptop stays connected to her very well. I had the wpa security enabled on the linksys routers both netgear.

Then, I went to the netgear router and disabled security. It is very well connected. Not sure if wep security will allow him to work. I refuse to use just the wep security. It is easily hackable. And of course I will not let it be secure.

So it seems to be a compatibility issue between my router netgear wrn3500 and the atheros 5007 wireless card security. The router has the latest version of the installed software package.

I guess I'll call HP tonight and see if they can send me a different brand/model wireless card. All my other wireless devices work fine with this netgear router. I don't want to get rid of the cause of netgear, this is a gigabit & Wireless N router.

Does anyone know of any other mini pci express card that works with my laptop? I would get a card N. I thought maybe the intel wifi link 5100 card. Not sure if those who are compatible with HP or not.

    Thank you!

When I called HP back support, they were completely useless. Everything I tried to ask them is if they could just give me a list of wireless pci-express cards that would be compatible with my laptop. They did not understand my problem and could not give me a list. I wanted to the list because I read several times that HP has a 'white list' cards that will work with their motherboards. If you put a card that isn't on the list you will receive a message to remove the card from the bios when you turn on the machine. I checked this by testing the intel 5100 card on my laptop and it gave me this message.

Oh btw, it's MUCH safer these days to update the bios of your computer, it was many years ago. I do all the time and have never had a 'brick' on me. Even safer on a laptop with a battery in good condition. In fact I recommend it as part of your troubleshooting process. That will not fix the problem tho atheros wireless.

However, in the end, I was able to operate pretty well no thanks to HP!

I had to buy another card Atheros tho. It was the 5009 Atheros. And it's a card N I so was able to get with my router N 300mbs speed!

I found it on ebay for about $25 plus delivery charges. Oh and these cards are VERY easy to replace. There is a door on the bottom of the laptop with a captive screw - remove the door, then another screw which holds the card down. 2 drivers who commit on the 2 connectors on the map - the map out on the right.

This card worked very well for me I highly recommend to solve the problem with shit card atheros 5007.

Unfortunately, my laptop was stolen 2 weeks ago! (it was only 2 months old!) Some loser scumbag broke in with me so that I was at work and stole my laptop and my LCD 24 ''!

I've had this laptop for $350 new Staples. I can't find a similar agreement now.

Don't know if I'll go with HP\Compaq after what I went through just to make it work wireless...

  • N what internal wireless card work with my Presario CQ60-204NR?

I just bought a N Wireless card on ebay but got the error "104 device not supported wireless network found.  I updated the bios form F.34 F.54, without change.  I've looked through the HP support pages, but seem to be going in circles and not to find whatever it is approved.  I am running Vista Home Basic 32-bit, even though I know that the problem is actually in the white list of BIOS of wireless devices.  I don't want to push every update from Microsoft to find out which interferes with an upgrade wireless, as stated in another post here.

    Thanks for the pointers.

    Hi, Jack:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02985882.PDF

The only wireless cards, you can install are listed in Chapter 3, pages 3-7 and 8-3.

They must also have the part number HP on them, or they won't work.

So if you are interested in one of these cards, I recommend that you do your research on eBay by part number.

I see that there is only one card that can be a dual band card, and it is the WLAN Atheros AR9280 802.11a/g/n module.  And I don't know if it is dual band N or just only on the 5 GHz band.

Part number depends on what part of the world you live. For the USA, which would be part #.

    482260 001.

  • Equium L10-273 - installation of a wireless card internal

    Hi all

I tried to install a card on the laptop's internal wireless network above, we have acquired 2nd hand.

There is a slot to take the card, who went in, but I can't seem to locate the cables to attach to it.

Technical bright sparks around who can maybe help me with this? Or perhaps explain why I can't find the cables - surely he wouldn't a slot to take a card if he was not cables to connect?

    Grateful for any help!

    Thank you very much

The antenna cables do you mean are normally on the screen.

I think that on your laptop are no cable antenna so it of not possible to use and install the wireless network adapter.

If you want a WLAN card you get an external solution (USB, PCMICA).

my router is a linksys model g very new.

    Hello

Please check the MAC addresses of your router. I assume that they block the connection.

By the way: is your unit preloaded with the original recovery CD?

  • T41 - wireless issue internal 11 b.

Hi, have a NEW one for me T41.

All boots works very well, except for the card mini internal pci wireless won't stay not connected for more than 30 to 45 seconds.

It connects to any network I have a logon... It wil show a good connection... but when I go to the for use... It disconnect within the above period and then tries to reconnect immediately.

I have already traded in another card - it does the same thing. The latest drivers are installed, but I don't know if I have all the settings correct. OS is XP pro, not not using thinkvantage.

This has happened on several networks, so that I tried to con... so I don't think that it is a router problem.

Internal wireless, this is what is wanted because my wife (who has the machine is really) won't deal with external devices.

Someone has an idea? Material? software? Settings?

    Thank you

    James

I think it's more a Lan 2100 3B mini card - nothing to do with the T41 specific problem.

I found this thread on another forum

    http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=543080

which refers to the same problem. Thinking he's bound SP3.

also here on the forum of Lenovo, looking more for than the T41 wireless card, I found some more references.

With the Lenovo driver, I changed the power off fault and changed to MAX - this seems to help.

With a generic INTEL driver options for roaming aggressiveness there that some say contributes to reduce as well.

My personal opinion, this map was made by SP3 - and with the current price of cards/g on ebay... I'm not a size a lot of time on this, I'll get what I can and get my deal on a 54g card.

  • Wireless card internal s3712f

I have an old s3712f of flag and I was wondering if there is an internal port for adding a wireless card not to mention that the ports pci-e? And if there is, the wireless card I could use? Preferably a wireless n card.

    Hi alienguise.

After doing some research on wireless specifications capabilities, it shows that your computer did not come with a wireless option. Now, if you are still wanting to install an internal wireless card, I have included the 'upgrade and Guide service', as this will show you the process to remove and replace the PCI card. Also keep in mind the "specifications" to ensure that the card will be compatible.

    I hope this information helps!

  • Satellite Pro L10 - wireless network cards are compatible?

I have now managed to dual boot my older Toshiba L10 with XP and Windows 7.

The existing wireless LAN card is not compatible with the Windows 7 partition and I use an external usb wireless.

Does anyone have recommendations on an internal wireless card I can buy which can replace the existing one and is both compatible with XP and Windows 7 32-bit? Is it easy to replace one card with another?

    Hello

Hardware upgrade on mobile machinery is very limited and most of the information you can get on an upgrade supported for RAM or HARD drive. Upgrade for all other hardware is not supported, so actually there is no info on the hardware compatibility.

Nobody here can offer you a list with 100% compatible cards WLAN.
What WLAN card is inside your old L10?
Have you tried to install the drivers of Toshiba Portal Wlan WLAN - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

Download driver driver from here and install it. Maybe this will help you get the wireless network card is functioning properly.

I just hand on one of these laptops. However, there is a switch that seems to have a Simbel wireless on the right side of the machine and a light symbol on the front that does not appear in the manual for this laptop wireless. Anyone know if this phone has the ability to internal wireless network? What does this switch and the light? How to activate it etc?

    Any help much apreciated

    Al

I bought the same laptop new 2 years ago and in the manual, there was an addendum explaining that if there were an equipped module as a dealer option then the machine was Wi Fi... The symbol on the front lights up when you press the switch on the right side when a Toshiba module is mounted but not if you use a card pc as a Belkin (which I use)... Please see response below Toshiba.
