  I'm having a problem connecting my iPod Nano (5^th generation 8 GB) to my Macbook Pro (mid-2009 with El Capitan OS). I tried to restore my iPod nano with iTunes. Restore failed, and my iPod Nano screen has changed to a white screen with a message "do not disconnect". I couldn't eject the device, so I had to unplug the iPod with this message that appears. When I disconnected the iPod a black check mark appears on the white screen with a message "Ok to disconnect". The only way to get this message go away is to lock the screen of the iPod nano, and then unlock it. Then I press and hold the Center button and menu button simultaneously for 8 seconds and the Apple logo appears. Then shortly after, a "Use iTunes to restore" message on the iPod nano. I reconnect the iPod on my Mac and the white screen with a message 'do not disconnect' returns to the top. iTunes does not recognize the iPod. I don't know what else I can do to get my Mac to recognize the device and add songs using iTunes. IPod Nano was working fine a few hours ago, and my Macbook recognized until I tried to restore it in iTunes. It's very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  Using MS Sync something won't solve your problem. Normally, you need iTunes to transfer music/videos etc. to and from iPods, phones etc. keys. Or you can buy the 3rd plugins for WMP, such as MGTEK Dropsi.

Would it be a problem I use a mobile internet device I plug into a USB port?  I read that iTunes needs to port 80 or port 443, and I have no idea what I have with a mobile internet connection, which is a connection of the port numbers Vodaphone. (I travel a lot). Does anyone know what I need to do to complete the installation? I have not yet set up an account with Apple's iTunes or the legends of hearing impaired which is part of the installation.  I really want to restore the ipod to factory settings and reinstall due to do not do these two things, but I can't even do that when I click on "Restore" and ask that 'the parameters that it will NOT be saved' (as I want to go back) but once again just iTunes freezes.  Can someone help this Granny for the iPod facing up and running please with a good connection to iTunes and an active account?
