  • Cannot access Internet on Windows Update

I recently formatted my computer windows laptop. I'm using Windows 7 Home Basic Edition. After a day or two, I am unable to access the internet even if I am connected to the router. I even tried to access Internet through my cell phone using a hotspot. It too its display "NO Internet access. There is no problem with the router or my cell like everybody else uses it and its works very well. So I tried to system restore to a point where I knew I was able to use the Internet. And here it does not work... But even once after the windows update it stopped working. Again, I must use the system restore to make it work.

I can't find the source of this problem? Because of the windows update or something else?

The KB2705219 update could be the cause and uninstall that solved the problem for some users.

To uninstall an update - control panel, programs & features, [left side of the window] see installed updates. Wait until the system has finished the research for the list of updates. Select update required, then right click and Uninstall.

    But...

In another thread [my computer today installed windows 7 updates, but my internet has been lost.] But the network is visible. [what caused this?] a user has identified this notice - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

While it remains that uninstall the Win7 update than kb2705219 solved the problem for at least two users, you should consider the McAfee fix. At least two users had also reported having removed then reinstalled McAfee earlier in the day and their systems have increased back & run correctly afterwards.

I had to run the MCPRT deletion a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

  • Cannot access computers running Windows XP Pro on wireless network.

3 machines on the wireless network. 1 running Windows 7; 2 running Windows XP Pro.  Previously, I had full access in all directions. No problems.   Now I can't access Pro X machines. Neither the machine, Windows 7, or a XP Pro on the other machine. I can see XP machines in Windows Explorer with the complete display of all shared folders, but when I try to access a file, I get an error message. "\\Tiger\Documents and setting are not available. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find the you have permissions to access. Not enough server storage is available to process this command. "(This is the message I get when I try to access one of the XP machines on the Windows 7 machine The message on a XP machine when I try to access the other XP is the same, except that the last sentence is "the network path is not found."  I CAN have full access to the Windows 7 machine is XP Pro machines. I checked the properties of sharing on both XP machines, and they seem to be the same when everything worked correctly. I have installed any new program - except the regular updates of Windows and the frequent update of the antivirus of Trend Micro. Any solution?

Thanks Steven Winograd. I don't know how to frame a search that would have led me to the Article 177078, or that it applies to my problem, once I found it. I may have a new technique, but I CAN follow a recipe from Cookbook to change the IRPStackSize. Increase the value of 15 to 18 solves the problem without a further hiccup. Thanks again.

  • cannot access my original Windows Live Mail account

I signed n additional Windows Live Hotmail, skydrive etc I thought that he would give a private e-mail account and added the private storage.  Now I can't access my original windows live account email... and that's where all my emails be sent to present so I need!

Open Windows Live Mail and click on profile.  Then click on the button black options up next to the help option (not the options button in the profile) and then click More Options.  Click linked IDS.  Then click on link an Exlisting Live ID and follow the instructions to add your ID of origin linked to it.  There are some links on how to switch between accounts in Mange bound ID that you will see if you will have instructions on how to access your old account as well as your new account - or just after if you have problems doing but I think that it is relatively simple.

    I hope this helps.

the problem is that I can't access either on my hard drive it still reboot

So, first I want to try to update my Bios but as I can't work with windos XP I need to do it with a Dos command.

is there any solution for this?

    Thank you very much

and why you want to update the BIOS?

Even if the BIOS is not updated, the laptop should work well and should start the Windows operating system.
This means that the problem with your laptop is unrelated to the old version of the BIOS.

Have you tried to check the HARD drive or to reinstall Win XP?

  • Cannot add a professional Windows 7 computer in the field of a SBS 2003 R2 server

I'm working on a Windows 2003 R2 Small Business Systems network, with 6 Windows Vista computers already attached to his field. I'm adding a laptop Windows 7 Professional in this area, but were not able to do that the Bill, even though I tried several of the fixes I found on various forums. I ran the KB926505 hotfix on the server, tried to add the computer through the process of adding sever then tried to add the computer. All efforts have failed. When you use the server set up, I told myself that a script will run to complete the process, but is happening. When I try to add the computer to the domain of the computer, I get an error that says it cannot find the domain controller, even if I ping the server IP.  The text of the file "dcdiag.txt" is-> DNS asked successfully for the resource record (SRV) service location used to locate a domain controller "pinnaclesalesinc.local":

The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.pinnaclesalesinc.local

The following domain controllers were identified by the query:

However, no domain controller could not be contacted.

Common causes of this error include:

-Host (A) or (AAAA) records that maps names to their IP addresses domain controllers are missing or contain incorrect addresses.

-Registered in DNS domain controllers are not connected to the network or are not running.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Manon,.

Thanks for asking this question to Microsoft Community. I'll try and help you resolve the problem; However, I will need to ask you a few questions.

When exactly do you get the prompt? Are you referring to the updates of Windows or files downloaded from the Internet? Since when are you facing the issue? What browser do you use? How are you connected to the Internet? Is it a cable or a wireless connection? Have you done a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

Hope this helps and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help you.

  • Cannot depend on firewall Windows or updates.

Running Vista 64 bit, something that happened yesterday and it disabled Security essentials, disabled Windows Firewall and disabled the Windows updates. Ran Malwarebytes and found a Trojan. Win64.sire.FEF, removal of which ran in safe mode security essentials and removed it. Ran 2 other programs of viruses malware and found nothing. Restarted, security essentials works now however I can not turn on the firewall or activate the windows updates. FixIt tried and which did not work, tried forums and those who have not worked to date. does anyone have other ideas? Thank you Vista 64-bit

Tried Scannow and while he repaired some files others were not, and the problem persisted.

Finally resorted to a system restore, then ran antivirus scans again. Seems to be ok. Security Center now shows the firewall and updates work.

  • Administrator cannot access folders in Windows 7

I have a new computer and I am the administrator. I've implemented a new guest account and he was denied access to a folder. However, the administrator can no longer access this folder at all.

Even when the administrator account can access the folder no files can be read (they are multimedia files).

Is it possible to completely reset the permissions on the folder that the administrator can play once more files.

Denying access to certain users or groups is a bad idea because it can have unintended effects if you are not perfectly familiar with how work ACL. A few days ago that I am involved in a thread that the author did the same thing you did. So far, none of us found a way to restore access to the file in which he asked to "deny".

If your neighbor wants to keep you out of his house, did it install a detection device of the person who is sensitive to you? Not very likely. It does the opposite: hands He carries keys to the people he trusts. You must manage the permissions on the folders in the same way: provides access only to the groups and users who you trust. Forget the others - because they are not in the trusted group they will get any access.

You can try this method to repair the damage you have done:
1 activate the administrator account and password.
    2 restart in Safe Mode.
    3. log on as an administrator.
    4. click on start
    5. type the three letters cmd
    6. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
7 run the process as an administrator.
8 type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
    takeown /f Q:\/a r d y
    ICACLS Q:\/t/c/grant administrators: F System: F "%nom user %": F
(Answer "Yes" when prompted "Are you sure?")
(Replace q: with the actual drive letter the problem disk)
