    Hello

You have a Tecra A8 PTA83E with processor Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0 GHz) processor and Intel 945GMS + Intel 82801GBM chipset?
Then maybe this page could clarify a few issues:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=24210&ft=m&St=3

You must use DDR2 memory modules 667 MHz (PC2-5300).

You can also use this module:

    -2 GB DDR2 - 667 PA3513U-1M2G
    -1 GB DDR2-667 PA3512U-1M1G
    -512 MB DDR2 - 667 PA3511U - 1 M 51
    -256 MB DDR-2-667 PA3499-U - 1 M 25

  • Tecra M2: can what memory I use?

    Dear Sir.
I posted a question previously about upgrading a laptop computer with more memory: when I check the toshiba site, they offer different types of modules to upgrade for a tecra M2: as 1024 MB PC 2700 PA 3313U-2M1G.
But for 512 MB, they offer two types of memory: one is PC 2700 PA 3312U - 2M 51 and also another, which I think in my opinion is faster: PC 2-4300 DDR2 (!) PA 3412U - 2M 51:
What of the latter: it is suitable for tecra m2? (because I want to order it online and place the module on mine)

    Thanks in advance
    Dr. Weekx R

    Hello

Well, I found information that you can use this memory module:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 1 M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

    PA3313U-1M1G is 1024MB DDR 333 MHz SODIMM / Specifications: PC2700

    Hello

I found this page on the Tecra 8200 memory modules:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5841&ft=m&St=3

Looks like the Tecra 8200 would support Max 512 MB and you can use the 144-Pin PC133 SODIMM or memory SODIMM 144 pin PC100!

    I hope I could help a bit!

  • Satellite L10-226, what memory inside?

    Hello

I am interested in buying a portable satellite L10-226, but it has only 256 MB of DDR Ram. For this reason I will update the Ram 512 MB DDR - Ram after buying. What memory does Toshiba use for this model (Timings/speed/producer)?
If I get a 512 MB DDR - Ram inside and sell the original 256 MB Modul, is there any warranty issue, if the laptop has a defect or I am authorized to change memory by myself?

    Thanks for your help,

    Kind regards

    BoLzI

    Hello

I can't find any specific details for the L10-226, but I found some information for the L10-224, which has two available RAM slots and uses 1 x 256 MB module or module 1 X 512 MB, leaving 1 spare slot.

If you L10 - 226 has this configuration so your cheapest upgrade would be to add a second 256 MB module to the second slot giving you a total of 512 MB. The module for this is 200-pin PC2700 (333 Mhz) DDR SODIMMreference number PA3311U-1 M 25

The module of 512 MB is PA3312U-1 M 51part number.

The mnodules of RAM are components replaceable by the user so changing them will not affect your warranty at all. However, if your computer is then sevelops a fault with the modules of RAM, then you would not be able to get them has changed under warranty Toshiba, you must return yourself to the vendor from whom you got their.

  • Satellite A100-294: what memory should I buy

I have (only) 512 MB of RAM and I need to upgrade. Should what memory I buy? What models, which could be found on the market, I could choose? And do I have to have the same memory, for example. 512 + 512 MB or 1 GB + 1 GB (or even the same producer?) for best performance, working properly, or something? [Please help me, I need to upgrade as soon as POSSIBLE and I could not afford any possible error:]

    Hello

I hope that I will receive some reward you points because I think I can provide useful answers ;)
The laptop seems to be the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM fragmented into several modules.
You can use these modules from different manufacturers, but in my opinion it s better to buy a module of brand instead of module without name due to the better performance

This site provides a few compatible Kingston modules for Satellite A100-294
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=24854&ft=m&St=3

You can also mix the modules; I mean, you could use 512 + 1024 or 1024 + 1024 or 512 + 512. All these options are possible

  • What metrics to use for memory capacity planning? Active or consumed (in request or use vROPS)

    Hey all,.

I was wondering once more what metrics to use for memory capacity planning. Since the information from different sources (for example your ESXi host needs more RAM to Iwan Rahabok or VMworld 2012: Session VSP1729 - virtualized memory understanding performance management - Eric Sloof - NTPRO.NL Kit Colbert) pointing all assets (vROPS request), I expect that when we have high memory consumption / use in vCenter there will be no balloon / compression / permutation.

Also the metric active / request should not be used for all workloads (e.g. Java / DB), why is - this? I have not found the reason of this anywhere, only the fact.

Other sources such as Mark Achtemichuk suggests using consumed/use, which is the opposite (Understanding Active Memory - VMware vSphere Blog - Articles VMware vSphere).

So I thought I'll with active / demand as metric and ignoring the warnings inside of vCenter.

But the last time we have fixed half of our group, we had consumed/high memory usage and the vCenter began to inflate, compress, and finally to Exchange. Not a lot but I had not expected that, because memory active was only a small percentage of consumed.

Can someone explain to me why this happened and who is right on this issue.

    Kind regards

    jengl

jengl I don't know if you asked the wrong question, or I give the wrong answer :-)

It is always good to attach screenshots, background to the issues, and what exactly you are trying to solve.

    You wrote:

    So to summarize:

-ESXi uses consume to decide when to start the recovery techniques of memory RAM

-To rightsize VMs for RAM, you must use the counter inside the BONE, not active

-If you do not want to commit too much RAM and have a lot of the balloon you should right-size your virtual machines or extend the RAM / buy additional servers

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My answer: you are right. If you do not have access to the guest operating system, then Active VM and VM consumed are better guess. Better than nothing :-)

Sizing sizing of VM and ESXi are 2 different things (2 use cases) different. Please don't mix up the as soon as they are confusing. Do not try to resize the virtual machine when you are sizing the ESXi, unless you have a control total on them.

    You wrote:

The question for me is: how many cache (standby under Windows) inside the VM is really necessary for the virtual machine to get the best performance without wasting resources. Perhaps this issue can be resolved only by tests or do you know another option?

My answer: it's a different topic brother :-) It is different, because it is within a guest operating system (Windows in this case) and is no longer at the level of the ESXi. Suggest that post you another, possibly under Windows or vSphere too :-)

  • Service console uses what memory?

When I connect to the service console, I see that 700 of the 800 MB of memory is used when I run the "free-m. If I do a top or a ps - to, it's not really all that consumes a lot of memory (other than the workers spend - 12%). Is there a way to determine which uses as much memory? 700 MB seems higher it works normally.

    Thank you

    Scott

It is a common conception of GIS-ism/Linux.

The system uses 661 MB of memory.  However, only 170 MB is used for applications.  Linux is actively using any otherwise unused memory for caching of file system, which is what you see here under "buffer" and "cache."  To the point that an application requests more memory, Linux will reduce the size of buffer and cache and give him more.  Here is a similar explanation: http://www.linuxatemyram.com/

So if you want to monitor the memory usage, you must monitor (USED - BUFFER - CACHE), which is what gives you this second line.  So realistic, your system uses 170 MB for real applications and the RST for implementing caching file system.

I have a strange problem with my RAM supported by installers. When I check the activity monitor, 3 installers are open and they start around 80 MB memory RAM used for about 7 or 8 concerts after 10 minutes. I have to force them to quit, but I don't know what I am closing or why they open in the first place. Applications downloaded on iTunes?

In addition, the Console has opened with the same message several times, but I don't know what that means.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The last is a picture of the Terminal window.

Just because it lists 'Console' does not mean that it has nothing to do with this application.

You have not said why or what you're trying to install so I can't help with that.

You can use the activity monitor to leave their.

After you select an item, use the X in a type of stop sign icon and confirm force quit.

  • Satellite M70: How o use Atheros Wireless Lan Driver?

    Hello
Since I bought my Satellite M70, I had the same problems described by many on the forum and to keep band from b instead of g and the ability of its 54 Mbit connection.

I updated the intel lan driver and I am now using intel Pro/set utility driver.
Last week, I got a message from toshiba for download the latest Atheros driver which is supposed to improve connectivity.

The problem is that to happen once I installed Atheros driver nothing: there is nothing that I can do with the atheros utility, and I can still only go from Intel or Windows to manage the wireless card.

Does anyone have a good idea on how to use the atheros driver?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi, Jean Paul

I never had any message of the Toshiba who advise me to update all drivers.
However, I don't know what your laptop is the WLan card but you can't use an Atheros driver on the Intel WLan card for example.
If the Intel WLan card has been installed on your laptop, you must use the Intel Wlan drivers.
Check in the Device Manager you what Wlan laptop using the card you.

  • Satellite A500: Low resolution using Win 7

    Hello

I have looked around the forum and have found no real solution to my problem so...
I recently bought a Satellite A500 and did a clean installation of Windows 7 Professional on this subject.

Apparently, I had to just update to keep the drivers, but being the noob that I am, I have not.
So now that my resolution is stuck at 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600, neither of which are native.

I downloaded the drivers 64-bit win7 on the Toshiba site, but apparently, I already have the latest ATI driver installed.
However, I can't always change the resolution, and my monitor is recognized as generic non - PnP.
Is it possible to check if I have the display driver?

And also all the solutions for the display problem would be very grateful. It's the only thing that remains now bothering me on this new laptop.

    Hello

I assume you are using Win 7 64 bit OS because you selected the display of Win 7 64-bit driver is good?

    What A500-xxx you have exactly?
The European driver Toshiba page provides three different display drivers for the A500 series. Intel, nVidia and ATI
Seems three different graphics chips were installed in series A500

You should first check what graphics chip using your laptop
Then go to Device Manager and uninstall the display driver.
Then visit the page of the European driver Toshiba, download the display on the right for the graphics chip driver and install it.

Then restart the device and check how would go to the laptop.

    Welcome them
