430 G2: bios of signature

For unknown reason I can't update the bios on my ProBook 430 G2. Last was 1.09 and all the future gives me the same error - "cannot find signature files. As I see, in Journal of HPBiosUpdate.Log, he had none of signature files in the previous updates. For example:

    Hi good day!

In regards to your concerns about "how to configure the bios to start my Flash disk first."

I have listed the steps easy to follow below:

    1 shut down your computer

    2. press the power button to turn it back on and immediately press your "ESC" key repeatedly until you see "Startup Options".

    3. then press "F9" to choose the media that you want to start first (on your situation, it's your flashdisk)

  • Bios signature card mother HP Compaq 6200 Pro

I replaced the motherboard with a replacement card.  I ordered and received the number 615114-001.  It is that the signature of the bios is PC HP Compaq 6200 Mt instead of HP Compaq 6200 SFF.  How can I change?

I compared visually this forum with my other SFF boards and will find no different numbers.  How can they be visually identified the two boards?  I prefer not to make it happen.

    Hello:

See if you can change what you want using the following method:

After entering the Setup by pressing the F10 key, press on Ctrl + A to open additional fields in the security > system menu IDs.

Enter the serial number of your PC inventory and serial number of chassis number.

Save the changes then and once when you exit the BIOS.

  • Dell Vostro 430 sometimes breaks down and does not find the hard drive in the bios

So I have this old - ish Dell Vostro 430, intel cpu, windows 7 hard disk sata 250 GB, 4 GB of ram.

Update BIOS to the latest version 2.4.0

In certain exceptional circumstances, this PC sometimes crashes in windows, it is restarted, and then when he comes back it does not find the hard drive as a gift. He is not seen in the bios and does not start.

To fix, I have to unplug the power cable, wait a few seconds, plug in, reboot the computer and it starts normally, load windows and everything.

So far, I have tried to paginate on another hard disk, reinstall the Windows operating system from scratch, and same thing happens from time to time.

It is difficult to find the cause of the problem, because this happens very rarely.

Sometimes, when the pc is turned on for the first time in the morning, the hard drive is not found by the bios and we reappear at the same trick (disconnect the power cable) to take him back.

When it crashes when using inside Windows, it seems that the reason is the computer can't find the hard drive.

Such computer is out of warranty.

It would be nice to just throw this computer because it is still fine for the work it has to do, + I have Windows and Office OEM license on it, as well as many other software that I have to reinstall etc.etc.

No idea what I could troubleshoot?

Maybe change the motherboard? How can I buy a new motherboard for an out of warranty Dell?

While possibly keeping all the OEM licenses (Windows 7 and Office 2007).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Stanley

    Hello

There seems to be some sort of software within the current Windows 8 this problem is why I suggested at the start you first perform a recovery back to a clean install without problem and then try to upgrade to Windows 8.1

However, if you do not want to perform a recovery, try other things first. However, if this does not help, please perform a recovery and then go through the standard 8.0 - > 8.1 upgrade process.

1 Please, check the clock and date of your Windows

    2. Please check the BIOS clock/date and correct them if necessary

    3. ensure the Windows user account control is enabled/Active

    3.1 reboot the computer

    4. make sure that you have applied all updates of standard Windows (Control Panel > Windows Update)

    4.1 reboot

    5. make sure you don't have any installed security software that may interfere with the particular process of network, firewall, etc.

6 Please, run Troubleshooter Windows Update to find and erase errors > > http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates#1TC=windows-8 |   http://go.Microsoft.com/?linkid=9830262

    6.1. restart the computer

7, ensure that all drivers are updated - you can run the HP support assistant before that > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467905

    7.1. restart the computer

8 enforce Windows Store reset to clear the cache of WS and settings > > http://www.askvg.com/did-you-know-wsreset-command-to-clear-windows-store-cache-in-windows-8-and-later/

9 restart the computer once more after the above suggestion

Try to upgrade once more to 8.1 following the standard procedure:

    > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03847367

    > > http://www.gizmag.com/upgrade-windows-8--to-windows-81/29394/

To answer one of your questions - it has no official option to upgrade to earn 8 to 8.1 without going through the Store for Windows 8 and Windows 8.0 Pro. Such an option is available for the Enterprise of Windows edition and it is not available publicly. When you use Windows 8.0 (standard home or Pro version) you can use store - that's how Microsoft decides it is.

    =========================

If you try everything mentioned above and it still doesn't, please consider if you factory default recovery and then I think it should work according to the standard procedure (immediately after recovery and Windows updates) > > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03847367

    -HpBiosUpdate32.efi

    -HpBiosUpdate32.s09

    -HpBiosUpdate32.sig

my current version of bios is f. 08

    I did a cut above.

After looking at the appropriate file you downloaded, it says this:

    "Prerequisites .
-Microsoft .NET 2.0 is required. UEFI and Custom Imaging - the HP BIOS update must be run from a FAT or FAT32, partition with a volume of the "HP_TOOLS" name This Installer gives you the option to install on the hard disk (HDD) or USB. If you install on the HARD disk and the HP_TOOLS partition is not present, Setup prompts to create the HP_TOOLS partition. If you install on a USB key, Setup renames the partition on the USB in HP_TOOLS. If you use a custom image, you can create the HP_TOOLS partition manually with the type FAT32 and that the volume HP_TOOLS name. ATTENTION:-the UEFI system partition is not protected and can be removed. -Backup of the computer by using the complete PC Backup feature of Microsoft Windows Vista does not save the UEFI system partition. For these reasons, HP recommends that you place no additional data on the UEFI system partition. Because the partition is not backed up, corruption or failure of the partition will result in the loss of all data on the partition, as well as the loss of UEFI functionality. "For more information, visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup"

There is little documentation on how to use it, but a Member here figured it out.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/operating-systems-and-software/envy-14-system-recovery-doesn-t-work-with-latest-BIOS/m-p/328684/highlight/false#M45165

    using Windows 7:
Just plug in the USB key and then run the SPnnnnn.exe BIOS file downloaded from the Web site drivers HP.
Assuming that the USB is configured correctly (see below), Setup the BIOS sees the HP_TOOLS partition on the USB, copy of the BIOS and its file signature on the USB key, then run Setup winflash. The system BIOS detects the USB and the partition HP_TOOLS and the BIOS is magically updated.
I put in place a new USB key as follows:
1 rename the partition HP_TOOLS from the hard drive to something different like HP_TOOLSbak
    2. Plug the USB
    3. Download and run the utility to update the BIOS (not the BIOS, still) drivers HP support page.
    4. Select the option to install to a USB
    5. Select the option to create the partition HP_TOOLS
    6. The reader should now be formatted as HP_TOOLS with a record of Hewlett-Packard containing BIOS and BIOSUpdate records. The BIOS folder contains empty current, news and previous records.
7 download and run the HP System Diagnostics (UEFI) MS drivers HP support page
    8. Select the option to install on a USB key. This will create a SystemDiags folder under the Hewlett-Packard folder
    9. Download and run the HP Notebook System BIOS update for the HP support page drivers, given that the USB is correctly tagged it will install the update of the bios on the USB drive
10, we have to end up with a HP_TOOLS partition on the USB drive identical to the one that you removed from the hard drive.
Once you have configured the USB drive, you can upgrade to other versions of BIOS (most recent or oldest) using this drive, as I mentioned above: just plug in the USB and then download and run the BIOS Setup program.

Having said that I'm not sure of what you do, once you boot the USB drive.

According to the guide on the website of manageability http://hp.com/go/clientmanagement BCU, error code = 10 back which means "Password valid unplanned".

I suggest you try the following:

1 re create the bin file from password

2 provide the full path to the bin file from password

    example:

    BIOSConfigUtility.exe /setconfig: "filename.txt" /cspwdfile:"c:\myshare\password.bin"

    where:

    Password.bin is located in c:\myshare

  • ProBook 430 G3: Pleasure of the laptop cooling accelerates the low speeds constantly

    Hello

I have a brand new HP Probook G3 of 430 who works and do everything just great, the only problem is his strange cooling fan noise.

The problem is that it accelerates and accelerates downwards constantly without visible reason. (Please note that this is not normal behavior when coolers change from higher temperature of the processor speed). The interval between the top speed down is less than a second and it is constant. So imagine when cooler works on higher speed, it is not smooth, as it is supposed to be, but little wave / floating.

I'm not sure with speeds laptos fans run, but if view the problem it will look something like shown below

    Action taken:

    • Updated the BIOS to the latest version - did not help.
    • Start the 'Fan always on AC Power while' - sounds even.

Can anyone suggest anything to diagnose the problem of fan? Mayble there's some fan diagnostincs tools or anything else that can help.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I will say that it is a hardware problem with the fan itself. You could try and blow with compressed air. There may be a clog of dust or something that is causing do drag, dislodge, then reclogging. Or the fan may be faulty.

I would like to make a warranty case or if you can return it for a replacement that would be a good idea, too. The Probooks are fairly easy to work, and it's possible hP might just send you a new fan but I doubt little.
