5.0 operating system compatibility mode

Hello

I have successfully used this property jad to install OTA with the original Storm 9500 on OS 4.7:

RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode: false

However, it is not working touchscreen OS 5.0 devices.

My application is compiled with JDE 4.7.

If I download on a Storm II (5.0.0.334 - 9550), it will always be in compatibility mode, even with the property defined in the jad.

Also the 9500 on 5.0.0.252 does not behave as expected:

If I download an application compiled with JDE 4.2 it comes into compatibility mode.

But if I compile the same application against the JDE 4.7 it won't in compatibility mode.

I'm wiping the Simulator each between each test.

Has anyone else seen elsewhere?

Or y at - it some new system that I must follow to ensure that my application will not start in compatibility mode for OS 5.0 devices?

Thank you

Hi Mark,

Finally, there is a problem in my download script where a code is compiled with the a previous JDE was included.

Its solved now.

Thanks for looking into it.

    Mr. VMwrae

Ko 2033723, the affected guest operating system is Windows Server 2012 (not R2) and hosts ESXi 5.0 Update 1 or ESXi 5.0 P03... then I think you should just avoid using this version of the build host, given that the VMware compatibility shows that Windows Server R2 2012 is compatible only with ESXi 5.0 Update 2 and later versions.

On the other KBs, make sure to read workaround, and everything will be OK.

  • A Portable hard drive operating system compatibility

I bought a Seagate Expansion Portable hard 3 TB drive and want to transfer the files on my old PC (which uses the operating system WIN XP) on my new PC (which uses the operating system WIN 7). When I connect the camera on my old PC, it is not displayed in "My Computer", but it can be seen under "sensor external hard drive... Or is there a driver I can install to fix the problem?

Did you leave the 1 partition of 3 TB drive?  XP cannot 'see' as large partitions. It can 'see' up to 4 GB.  I would create a second partition 25% larger than the data on the XP machine by reducing the current partition and creating a new.

The best way to proceed is to use EaseUS partition magic (free)

Maybe, but maybe not... and Adobe is only updated of CURRENT programs to be compatible with the new OS (Mac and Windows)

CS6 and previous programs have not been tested and will not be updated to run on Mac El Capitan

-which means you are trying to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems

-You can get CS6 and previous programs to install and run, or you can not (some do, some don't)

  • Are obsolete root of trust certificates required to use XP mode / compatibility mode on my Windows 7 computer?

For example, I have two PKI certificates that are necessary and confidence of Windows XP, but they are absent from the trust list in Windows 7:

Why are these certificates on a Windows 7 computer?

It is the responsibility of the administrator to remove certificates that have exceeded their expiration date?

That would limit comparability to turn back? Would be the removal of expired certificates limit the functionality of the operating system compatibility modes?

    Hi Douglas,.

According to the shooting, description and screen of the problem it seems that you are connected to a domain environment. Yes, you are right that these certificates on a computer Windows 7 requires administrator permissions to remove. However, if you need additional support, you can try to republish your query on the TechNet community.

Hope that the information provided was useful. Feel free to post on the forum if you have any concerns more associated with Windows.

  • How to install multiple operating systems

    Hi, im from the India,
    I have hp Pavilion-15-N209TX, with Windows built-in 8.1,
I want to install anothere os (Windows 7),
Windows 8.1 Windows 7 plus several operating systems.

    How to do this?

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install from a USB key and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '.

In addition, as the hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own disc of Windows 7 SP1. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

    From the top...

    (1) in Windows 8 / 8.1, reduce the "C:" partition and create a new partition of the unused space. Please see partitioning and naming of readers (Windows 8) for more information on partition in Windows 8 / 8.1.

    (2) download f6flpy-x 64.zip, extract the files/folders and place it on a USB Flash drive.

    (3) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (4) when the MENU is displayed, press "F10".

    5) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", 'USB 3.0 pré-OS Config' and the value 'Auto '.

    6) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", "Startup Options" and "Secure Boot" the value 'Legacy Support' the value "Enabled" and "Disabled"

    7) press "F10" and click "YES" to "Exit Saving Changes".

    (8) computer should restart and display "Change of operating system startup Mode"... type the four digit code, then press "ENTER".

    (9) let Windows 8 boot to the top and put the Windows 7 SP1media in the drive to DVD or a USB port, then logout / stop.

    (10) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (11) when the MENU is displayed, press the key "F9" and then select the correct boot UEFI source (CD/DVD drive internal, USB drive, CD/DVD, USB Flash drive, etc.). ... Press any key to start the CD/DVD, if prompted.

    (12) select 'Language', ' time / currency ' and 'Keyboard' settings and then click "Next".

    13) click on 'install now '... Check "Accept terms" and click "next". Click on "Custom (Advanced)".

    (14) you may need to provide Intel SATA/RAID drivers at the moment...  Use the Intel SATA/RAID drivers that you previously placed on a USB Flash drive.

    (15) to follow all instructions and meet the need. Enter the Windows 7 key when asked.

Most of the 64 - bit drivers Windows 7 for HP ENVY 15 t-j100 CTO Notebook PC drivers of Quad Edition page should work on your computer. DO NOT use any BIOS or download of the firmware from this page. Please message the Windows Device Manager (text only) "Hardware ID" of all remaining missing or unknown devices, as shown in the example below.

  • Can not find Workstation 11 documents that specify host for Linux operating system support

I had all the versions of the workstation since version 3 or 4, and in all cases, Workstation ran on a Linux OS support.  For now, I have both Debian and Red Hat Linux workstations and prefer to stay with Red Hat for my work of VMware Workstation. However I find no actual docs for workstation 11 who tell me what rev of Red Hat Linux is supported. Also, I don't see the real support as available contracts more. Once upon a time, you could buy support workstation. I already have systems of vSphere 5.5 to work and they have full support, but I can't support 7 x 24 production on my computer it seems. in any case, what is the actual supported Red Hat Linux tricks? 6.6 worm or am I stuck goes Red Hat 7?

Thanks to anyone who really knows.

    response to me here:

After a bunch of research, I get to a page that tells me to get the compatibility guide:

    VMware Workstation 11 Documentation Centre

    Who gets finally me:

    http://www.VMware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php

Which is useless for workstation because it lists only the products of ESXi.

Always to research... and I get this:

    http://www.VMware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?deviceCategory=software

Nope... It does not help... I select "Host OS" and is told to go elsewhere:

The host operating system compatibility information has been moved to the following location:

Host operating system support information (2100429)

    Goal

Supported host operating system data are removed from the Compatibility Guide VMware (VCG) to other articles of the basis of knowledge (KBs).
This article KB then told me to go somewhere else to:

Operating systems supported for VMware Workstation guests (2088579)

    your da!
The answer is that 11 workstations is supported on some types of Linux and the most notable are:
    Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10
    Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0 (note: 7 RHEL is horrible)
The answer is therefore a flat NO WAY for Debian or one of its close brothers.  Strictly big business Linux here.

  • Why I can boot into safe mode with internet connection, use the operating system, etc., but can not open a normal session without password administrator; who got the disabled.

OEM Vista Home Premium. Normal startup does not recognize the password. When you click User icon it says: "your account has been disabled. Please, see your system administrator"I looked in the mirror, but it did not help. Booted, press F8, went in safe mode with network connection. Everything seemed to be there. Surf the internet and then started to ask me why I don't have a password here when I did normal start-up. What is the password? Check "Microsoft Answers", but what I came out which was, I need to reinstall the OS, which I can't do it without a drive anyway.  I thought that I've used it before, I knew the password. This computer has been recently "reinstalled" internal folder 'restore '. Something must happen. A unknown password can be removed from safe mode? Ultimately how reinstall you a clean Vista when all you have is the key to product and no local or OEM support? What would be the difference between a password reset disk and the OS disk.  The two would probably be stored side by side. Not to mention that most of us Dummies want to just surf to buy, and if we can not surf, we cannot buy. Dummies help us get back on the internet, Microsoft. At least take care of this shot.

    Hi PAM,.

In Safe Mode, try to activate the high administrator account http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-windows-vista/.  Then log in using account and use it to solve problems with your normal administrator account login via control panel / user accounts / manage other accounts.  Find the one you want and make the appropriate changes to fix it.  If you can't, then you need to address as a corrupt account by using the following procedure:

To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  If this is the only available administrator profile (you must be an administrator to solve this problem), activate the hidden administrator account (HAA) (i.e. what you did above, or you can do this by using these instructions instead: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9001970/How_to_access_the_true_Administrator_account_in_Windows_Vista?taxonomyId=17&pageNumber=1.)

Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account).  Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.

The fact that it says it is disabled gives me to think that you can use the guest or built-in Administrator account already (as normally, you cannot disable an account, but you can with these two which cannot be deleted and only disabled).

The password reset disk is only good if created before that you need and only to restore a password, do not to activate a disabled account.  Another thing that goes beyond passwords here.

A recovery disk allows you to do some advanced options of recovery by booting the disk, but it will help you restore the operating system (or help you with this problem either).

An Installation of Vista genuinve disc (the operating system drive as you seem to be describing) is a disk that contains the operating system.  That, if it is the original disc supplied with the system and is exactly the same as the product OEM key that you must allow you to do a clean OS install (although I would be first backup you'll pretty much lost everything in the process).  The following should help: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-vista.html.

If you have a factory Conditions or a recovery Partition restore disk, then these are alternatives to a clean install if you don't have this disc.  But the procedure varies according to the manufacturer, make and model of PC.  Most of the manufacturers will allow you to buy these records of restoration (for a fee) If you cannot do it with a recovery Partition cannot create diskettes from the recovery Partition or have no other option.  Visit the support site of the computer for information on this topic, available options, and related costs.

If you cannot enable the built-in Administrator account and cannot access the system in normal mode with this or another administrator account, then I'm afraid a clean install or restore to factory conditions is your only option.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
