  Sometimes the HDD IDMS2 failure is transient (heads of disc may get out of sync prolonged usage without counters). If this is the case then you can pull the blade from the chassis (only the way to actually turn off the hard drive), wait 30 minutes and then reinstall the blade and try again. If that's not enough then the hard drive has permanent damage, so you will need to contact Cisco TAC and ask them of RMA of the blade.

  (a) click on start menu and type diskmgmt.msc in the search box and press on enter.

  (b) in disk management, right-click the disk you want to initialize, and then click Initialize Disk.

  (c) in the dialog box initialize the disk , select the disk to initialize. You can choose to use the master boot record (MBR) or the style of partition GUID partition table (GPT).

  New disks appear as not initialized. Before you can use a disk, you must first initialize it.

  Also, make sure that the new hard drive has a drive letter assigned.

  If I understand your question, your CD/DVD drive cannot burn new disks.
  Is this good?

  What discs can not be burned? Are these discs copy protected?
  Have you tried different burning software?

  I use Nero and I think it s better combustion of the program.
  Recommend to use.

  Can you simply right-click and format everything first?  The drive must be formatted before use, make sure that you format NTFS.

• Cannot install Windows Server on the new server Poweredge T110 II 2012

  HI - just took delivery of my new Dell PowerEdge T110 II with two 1 TB drives in RAID 1, but without any operating system installed.  On the Windows Server 2012 Standard edition installation, the installation routine is unable to detect readers when it comes to choosing the installation location.  I can 'find the pilots', but on the insertion of the Dell supplied DVD, it does not find everything.  I changed different settings, rebooted and tried several times without success.  Entering the system at boot configuration screens, I can clearly see my 2 x 931GB disks and the virtual drives installed on them (I even removed the implementation of RAID and the virtual drives at some point to see if that was the problem).  Any help appreciated.  Regards, Barry

  You should have received a disc entitled management of system and Documentation Tools. If you start on this DVD, it takes an option to install an operating system. Follow the on-screen instructions and it should load the required drivers. If this does not work then let me know what RAID controller you have.

  I'm upgrading from the internal drive in an early 2011 13 "MC700LL/A macbook pro.

  1. I bought a new HGST Travelstar 7 K 1000 1 TB drive and put in a disk external usb dock. I then formatted with extended (journaled) as Mac OS disk with GUID utility.

  2. I then used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the old internal system disk to the new disk.

  3. He cloned without problem and I can always boot from the new drive while it is in the external case.

  4. I installed the new internal drive and now it won't start. It turns right on the gray apple screen.

  I can boot into recovery and check the drive with disk utility. But if I try to select it as a boot disk, that it says that it cannot be blessed. If I put the old drive back in there fine boots. If I put the new drive in the external enclosure usb, it starts very well. I also tried to reset the PRAM

  I found people with similar problems online and often arrange it a new cable from hard drive. But they often try to install an SSD (which I think is more sensitive to bad hard drive cables), and they also seem to have a file system with a line through it.   I understand that your new drive is not start as expected when you try to select it as your startup disk. To begin troubleshooting, I would suggest reinstalling the new disk and reinstalling OS X on it.

  Why not save to a folder on your hard drive and burn them to a CD - R from there?   I got this yesterday after the 3.6.4 problem upgrade. I'm not sure if I saw all the things you did, but I have def lost all bookmarks and the back button. I fixed it by:
  1. go to the Firefox profile directory, which for me is here but 1st bit will be different for you as mine work specific:

  C:\Documents and Settings\U049177\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\soez0lvk.default
  2 delete places.sqlite and places.sqlite - journal

  3. start Firefox (you should have the back button now works but not Favorites, he recreated to these 2 files)
